Hello...We will be onboard the Magic for the HALLOWEEN sailing....so excited. We were onboard last year for Halloween also. Does anybody know if there will be Trick or Treating onboard? We did 2 trick or treatings last year. Just wondering if I need to get costumes for my 8 and 6 year old kids. Thanks.....see you all soon!!

So I was looking at who is participating in the FEs, and for each room we don't have the names. Our problem is that we are giving slightly different things to the kids vs the adults. When we get to each room, we need to know which gift to put in which FE pocket.

Anyone else having this issue?

As far as we know (based on what concierge is telling me), there WILL be trick-or-treating, and it WILL be on Halloween.

Since we change times, I highly recommend changing the clocks in your house BEFORE you leave, otherwise when you come home you might forget. But while you are home, remember that you did this, otherwise you could be late and miss your flight.

I think I am going to unplug a few clocks instead of reset them, our house/cat sitter will get too confused if the clocks are different LOL

So what am I missing. I keep hearing everyone complain about how the pricing has gone through the roof. I just checked the SAME exact cruise as ours for 2011. I looked at the same room I am in, for the same number of people, with the same options. The difference between our 2009 and the 2011 was only $90.
That does not seem like a huge increase to me. I don't think I did anything wrong.

Based on a main board post our docs should start arriving about a week!
Someone just posted that they are leaving on the 10/22 cruise and they got their documents yesterday. We are the week after them so we should be a week behind.

Now - which ones of you are going to be running to your mailbox everyday with your fingers crossed that it will be there?

For first time cruisers, the docs come either UPS not US Mail usually and they will be left at your door if you aren't there to sign for them so start looking every day. I already have John on the lookout.

Our names aren't on our FEs. We just put Dad & Mom under our character pictures, then pirate under our boys.

You should have a handle/hanger on the top of yours. You DO need to take a tie wrap to use to hold it on the Fish. It will stay, BUT the tie wrap is only to make sure that it doesn't .... walk off ... while you're on the cruise.

Did you try comparing the fish extender list with the Cruisemates list on the Website. The cruise mate list seems to have names and ages on most of our fellow travelers. I have not had a chance to compare specifics but that should be a good start.

I've noticed that for MOST of the FEs, the parents' pockets are at the top and kids go down from there. Ours is that way. This trip, we'll have a pocket for my mom, one for my dh and myself, one for Jonah - in flame print, and one for Jaydin in princess print. There will be one left over (in Marine print...go figure) that was my son's on the last cruise. You could just put each gift in a baggie and put 'kid' or 'adult' on the outside .... then, it wouldn't matter too much which pocket you put it in.

The problem is the whole swine flu thing. The shots won't be available for another week or two. But if you can then develop symptoms a few weeks after I'm worried. Is it better to get the shot or not?

My son and I are getting the flu shot before we go. We have been lucky because we have never experienced flu like symptoms after receiving the vaccine. Swine flu will have to wait until we get back from our trip since you have to have 2 shots and wait in between each one.

I can't get the flu shot. I am allergic to Neomycin. So ..... I will just have to chance it. My kids will get the shot next week, but I don't know about the swine flu. I don't know if the pediatrician will recommend it or not ... and I don't know if I will be able to take it.

How do I state this correctly

Do NOT give DCL a reason not to let you sail. Do NOT mention to DCL anything about anyone having a cold, flu or anything. You can be immediately barred from the ship. You will be asked questions at check-in such as has anyone run a fever in the last 24-48 hours, any vomitting in the last 24-48 hours, etc. if you answer yes you will probably not be allowed on the ship. I can't stress enough NOT to volunteer any information at all.

I am also not saying to lie.. if you or a member of your family is sick, please dont get on the ship, its a breeding ground and none of us want to be sick on our vacation but if its been more than 48 hours, no fever, etc.. don't give them a reason to keep you off the ship.. And YES they can do it, and YES they do do it. right there in the port terminal, they will call over a DCL medic who will ask the same questions and determine whether you can sail or not, most times the answer is no.. yes they will offer you WDW as an alternative and no they don't have to pay your back any money. It is all spelled out in the cruise documents that you will b receiving and signing..

as for the shot... I am not getting it.. Don't trust it.. its brand new, whipped together way to fast and has not had proper testing.. Since John and I are not in the "caution" group we will skip it.

I got my regular flu shot this am. Flu shots are recommended for elderly, people with chronic diseases (asthma, diabetes, etc.), people in nursing homes/prisons, health care workers (me), children and those that care for them. Everyone else would be second priority.

They are still out on who should get the H1N1 vaccine. Most likely it will be the same people as above. I cannot comment on whether you should get it or not.

You might check with your primary care provider for a recommendation.

As Kelly said, the ship is a breeding ground for sickness. It is very important to wash your hands well and use hand sanitizer as often as possible.

Don't let all of this talk get you worrying! We WILL have an excellent time.

I hope we all have our regular flu shots before we go. Adam already got his. His school was giving them out. Eric and I usually get ours at work for free, but I have not heard a thing yet. Maybe they are waiting for swine flu vac for some reason?

Getting sick before this cruise (or on the cruise) is my biggest fear.
