October 3- 2010 Wonder

Hi Aussieinvasion!:wave2:

DH relatives are from Merewether, NSW which I understand is near Sydney.

:yay::yay::yay:

We are so excited! I might be more excited than my kids! Actually my DS (14) thinks he is to old for a Disney Cruise and that he will be the only kid his age.

Tell your son that I am 20, and I am not too old for a Disney Cruise, lol. He will have an awesome time in Aloft and there will definitely be people his age onboard.

Hi Leiacake,

Yes, they live about 1 1/2 hours drive north of Sydney - they must live near the beach? Lucky them, we have some beautiful beaches here in Australia but I don't live on the coast. I'm getting my beach fix from Castaway Cay hahahah:cool1::thumbsup2
Welcome first time cruisers, you will be blown away:yay: I am totally addicted after our first one last year on the Magic!

Taswira - So glad to hear about your wonderful trip 'down under'. I live in Western Sydney not far from the Blue Mountains. Did you ever visit there?
I know we went to Featherdale Wildlife Park at Doonside, and some surrounding areas. Isn't that near the Blue Mountains? It's been a long time since we were there. We didn't spend as much time in the Sydney area as we'd have liked, but spent an excessive amount of time up in Darwin & Alice Springs and everything in between (lots of croc spots and buffalo & barramundi BBQ!).

ambria193 - Could you add us to your cruiser list even though we may not make the meet? Thanks.

We will be on this cruise as well!

Another last minute booker, but so very happy to be onboard:woohoo: This will be cruise #23 with the mouse for me and #19 for my daughter.....What a great birthday present:cheer2:

I'm curious about all these last minute bookers...did DCL offer some last minute deals for empty cabins?

Welcome aboard platinumcruzer! Looks like there will be a few Platinum Castaway Club members onboard. Wonder what special events DCL will have for us this time. :)

What kind of special events have they had in the past? How many platinum are typcially on board? We plan to book another cruise while onboard in Oct so we'll be gold for our Alaskan cruise next August. :)

The release of the Florida Resident Rates prompted my mom and I to book so late.

I would imagine there may be A LOT of Platinum cruisers on this one because there are many who sail often on the Wonder's shorter cruises. I've only done the Magic in recent years. This will be my 13th DCL cruise, but DCL only counts it as my 12th (having completed 11) because my very first was a "Disney Cruise College" as a TA, which doesn't count. ;)

You won't be able to drag him out of that teen club! :)

There are usually 5-10% of the passengers on board that are platinum. However, it looks like there will be a larger portion on the inaugural cruise for the Dream, probably 20% or more.

I'm glad to see everyone is getting excited!:banana:Just think-in 2 weeks we'll be on ship! Looking forward to meeting everyone. :yay:Is anyone packing yet? I'm about to start.

Ifmaking a pile of things not to forget counts, then I've been packing for weeks. ;)
