Ok, how awesome would that have been to sing with lynrd skynrd! I have been calling that carrie was gonna win since i think week 3. She had a strong voice and she has a little bit more of a variety. Bo was strictly rock, i think carrie could possibly do some pop, maybe the next shania twain. Was it just me or was mikayla just seemed to be trying to hard, like she had something to prove. Umm, hello...you got the boot weeks ago, get over it. Ok, enough rambling.

I gotta wait 5 more months till vacation...***! I am ready to go now. Ok, quick joke....

How can you tell that you are at a gay BBQ?? The hot dogs taste like sh*t.

P-Dawg: I'm with ya' ! I picked Carrie as my fav from the first audition!! Does that qualify me as a judge? See, I know talent when I hear it! Carrie has it going on!!! Can't wait to hear what she does on a CD! Mikaela has got to be the most confident teen I have ever seen! (but yeah, she's over-the-top!!)

Hey all!

I was just browsing another thread that is discussing dry dock changes for the Magic. Apparently we are going to be the 2nd Eastern cruise after dry dock-the ship will be in Oct 1 - Oct 14. I think Oct 15 is an Eastern, the 22nd is a western and then US!!!

You can look at the thread but there are going to be big changes to the spa-making it bigger and moving it forward. Also, they are reported to be adding megatron type screen to the upper deck for "movies under the stars". (read the thread-the overt hostility for this idea is funny-some people sure get indignant)

um...and no more mickey bars.

They are doing away with the conference rooms and adding more kids areas. And um...I can't remember what else. Oh yeah, swimming with rays at Castaway Cay.

Sounds cool. We will be part of the first people to see the new items if the rumors are true.

Yep, RonnieJo we hit 91 today. DD hampster is not digging summer.

A JumboTron out on deck?? SWEET!!

Not only for movies, but they plan to incorporate it into the sailaway party.

And I am hoping the stingray pool on CC is done by our cruise too!! I am all over that!

Glad to see I'm not the only Idol fan here...we watched each week. Did not care for Mikala at all ever. I was surprised she lasted as long as she did as she is a very weak singer.

I picture Bo going on to a group career, not as a solo artist. I think Vonzell will get a contract and go far--that girl can SING. Carrie will do well on the Country charts, but let's be honest here, unless she loosens up on the stage how many people are going to pay to see her perform? She is very stiff and uncomfortable on stage. I wish her well. She has a great voice and is cute.

I'm looking forward to the dry dock changes too. I may even have to drive over to Norfolk while she's in dry-dock to get a dose of Magic before our cruise.

If it were possible for Barbra Streisand and Fran Dresser to have a baby it would come out like Mikayla.
She's not really from Vegas, she's just one of us transplants.
As annoying as she is , she is going to go far in the Biz with that personality.

Although I think this was the strongest overall group no one made me go WOW like Ruben and Fantasia. I liked Vonzell and Carrie but I personally thought Bo was the best, I guess I should have voted, but I know he'll be just fine in the long run. And as long as I don't ever have to see Scott sing again I'll be fine. Talk about BORING!

Conference rooms? Conference rooms??!!?? On the Magic?? Are you kidding me?? I've cruised several times now and I had no idea there were conference rooms on board. Where are they?? What in the world are they used for?? And for that matter, who uses them??

Can you picture this dialogue: "Uh, sorry Beano, Cheri and I would love to join you, RonnieJo, P-dawg, Timbo, Gina, Luckey, and everyone else at the adult bar so that Hopeton can get us all happy. Problem is, we've arranged a conference, so we can't make it. Sorry, dude."

Unbelievable. Conference rooms?? Well, the other changes sound really cool, but getting rid of the conference rooms is, in my opinion, so obvious as to be laughable. Sheesh!!!

OK, deep breaths....calm down....the conference rooms will be gone before October. Oh no, I just thought of something: we're cruising on the Magic in July!!! Just knowing there are conference rooms on board will stress me out!!

I think the conference rooms are to order all the food and alcohol we will need. And while we are eating and drinking all the new ideas we will come up with for the ship....i am thinking...make the adult pool into the shape of a mickey bar. Everynight at midnight, free mickey bars!! They knew we were coming so they had to add it.

Hey now, don't be dissing my scott....i actually thought he should have been in the final 3. I think his looks & attitude got him knocked out, but overall i thought he was good. Can you imagine talking to mikala, it would be like talking to the nanny....anyone got some ducktape? That'll shut her up....for a minute.

Well i put in one more contract last night on a condo, a 2 bedroom, 768 S.F. walk out into a backyard. Above me is a townhouse kinda thing. Grand total of 210k. Anyone want to give me some charity...maybe i will start a fund, help patrick get a home fund...haha.

We can confer on whether to open another bottle of champagne, or wine.

Beano has the right idea about conferences...wine, beer, or champagne!!

210K for a condo sounds pretty good to me! If real estate keeps exploding here in Tracy we may just be tempted to sell, take the money and run!! Of course, if the bubble collapses.....EEK. We won't think about that.

Ok, thanks Tink, that's a relief!! In that case, it shouldn't be a problem avoiding them in July, since I don't think I've ever even been on Deck 2. I'm staying on Decks 8+ during the day where it's safe and where there is always a plentiful supply of imbibements and food nearby.

I hope everyone is having a good, long weekend.

We spent the afternoon and evening in San Pedro attending a big Disney party during which we watched the Magic set sail for the first of the West Coast cruises. It was a DisMeet for us where a whole group with which we are sailing on July 9th met up for the big party. I must say, it was bitter-sweet. On the one hand, just seeing the Magic and watching it cruise by with Mickey and Minnie on the deck waving at us was way cool, especially knowing we'll be doing that in less than 6 weeks. On the other hand, we were on shore watching and not on the ship sailing!!! That last part was tough!!

Anyway, stay well and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I am so excited! I am new to the DIS board and just posted a thread this morning trying to find others on the 10/29/05 Magic cruise. This will be our first DC. My DS will be turning five on the cruise. We would love to meet up with families that have children around his age. Are there special activities since it will be Halloween?

I am going to keep checking back since now I know where to look!

There are many families going that have children. Does your son like older women? Most of the kids in our group are girls around the age of 8 or so. My DH (Beano) and I would like to welcome you and your family to the group!


They have trick or treating on-board and people dress up. I'm sure the kids clubs probably offer some activities as well.
