Who will be Doggie sitting when you are cruising ?

The vet we've chosen has doggie daycare and a hotel, I think. We'll find out more on 5/9, as we've already scheduled his first vet visit. I've also got a coworker who's used a different doggie hotel, and loved it there. She said the hotel owner even has greyhounds.

That's so exciting about Max! Less than 1 week - and we're expecting more pics!!

Sad thing I saw that made me think of you guys on Saturday. There was a beatiful greyhound roaming one of the main roads here (very busy road leading to I-95) and he had a collar on. No one around him so he must have run from home. We weren't at a place to stop to try to get the dog to safety but he dodged the cars and made it to the other side. I still regret not calling police to let them know about him and will always wonder how he is and if his owners got him back.

We did it! We made an ADR to the Cinderella Royal Table Breakfast on the Friday before the cruise. I am so excited because the breakfast will be before the park opens and when the park does open, we will be able to get to the back of the park quickly where most of the rides and attractions are geared for my children's ages. Hopefully we can get through the events that will interest the kids in one day! I know we could spend many days at the Disney parks but that will be for another trip!

Things are starting to feel real now! I feel like I need to start printing my door magnets and everything now!

well we're back! we had a blast at Universal and Islands of Adventure. Kids thought we were the BEST. kudos for us! lol The resort was awesome, sitting by the pool was so nice. i felt like a little kids again, can we do it again daddy? please!:worship:

I posted this on the main forum, but figured someone here might know the answer:

We'll be going from POFQ to the port via the DCL shuttle on the 28th.
I know it picks up later from the hotels than from the airport.

Does it make more sense to just let the DCL shuttle get us at POFQ -- or take DME back to the airport and pick up the DCL shuttle there?

Anyone know timewise when the DME picks up at POFQ vs. when the DCL shuttle does.

TIA!

Nevermind -- found my answer.

I called DCL and the pick-up at POFQ is 12:15 p.m. --- we decided to just take that shuttle to the port (one less thing to think about). :woohoo:

we took the bus last time
it was really fun they showed a great video of Mickey and the gang going to the port too
we left from AKV our bags were picked up from our room about 8am and we didn't see them again until they got to our stateroom
This time we will have a hired car so planning on dropping it off at the port and getting the DCL bus to the airport after the cruise

So glad you got your answer because I had NO clue! The bus was fun when we took it on the first cruise and there is nothing like seeing the ship at the port for the first time! It's amazing how big it is and how small it seems in your mind when you think about it!

We are hiring a car too and will drop it off at the port - but we are picking it up again after the cruise to go back to orlando for a couple of days. I am thinking about a drive up the coast when we get off the ship to explore a bit of Florida - does anyone know how far away is St Augustine from Port Canaveral - would I be able to get there, have a good look around and drive back to Orlando for the evening. Thanks.

We decided to just drive over to Port Canaveral the morning of the cruise. When we looked at different options, this ended up being the least complicated AND expensive.

I figure it leaves more spending money for booze! LOL

Anyone wanna play BINGO on board with me? I always read trip reports bout BINGO, but did not get the chance to play on our last cruise.

Interupting this program............for some important information!

I would imagaine you would be able to get there and back, when we lived in Orlando my oldest son went to ST Augustine as a Bus trip and they did it in a day.

If i were you i would try to leave the boat as early as possible

And now back to planning my cruise, as we leave in 31 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy cripes! First the Mexico tax thingy and now this! Whew!

"Due to rising fuel prices, Disney Cruise Line is implementing a fuel surcharge. The surcharge is $8 per person, per day for the first two guests in a stateroom, and $3 per day for all others. It is effective for new bookings only made on or after May 28, 2008. Additionally, the surcharge will be capped at $112 each for the first and second guests in a stateroom and $42 each for all other guests in the stateroom."

Good thing we're all booked, now isn't it?!

Wow! I guess I can't blame them since fuel has gone up so much. But you're right...good thing we are booked!!! And since I booked my flights on Friday, they have gone up $50 a ticket already, so I am glad I didn't wait!!!

it should NO longer than 2 hours, it is about three hours from me, we go every year, LOVE it! i know you will too. but you COULD drive "down" the coast and see my hometown. hehehehe, your making me want to plan a trip to st. augustine after the cruise lol. we always go around nov-jan.

DH and I will be playing at least once -- without a casino, we figure it is a shot to give us some $$ ;)

We'd love to play with you -- I think everyone can use BINGO karma! :yay:

How far away is your home town from the port. Are you living south of Port Canaveral then - sorry, I am not very good at geography! If anyone can recommend anywhere I should visit on the coast in that area then please let me know. Is Cocoa beach itself worth a few hours visit. I really fancy St Augustine as I would love to experience some of the history of Florida, but it will be a fight to persuade the family who will want to be rushing back to the theme parks!:goodvibes

We have a fuel crisis here aswell - our petrol (gas) has just gone over £2 a litre ($4 a litre) and there are protests going on by the haulage companies etc. It's particularly annoying because the oil companies Shell and BP have just announced enormous profits of £7 billion for the past 3 months!:scared1:
