The truckers protested on Monday in DC - fouled up traffic a bit - but with the rain only a small portion of them showed up that were supposed to.

Gas prices have been rising and it's been horrific. I don't go anywhere that I don't have to since my Suburban just drinks gas. So, we do lots of things around here or really plan out our errands! I told Tori that summer time we'll be doing a lot of walking to the library (thank God that they're close enough!) and they just did construction on the main road and added a bike path on the one side! We can bike to our friends to go to their pool! Eh, maybe things won't be so bad after all...all that exercise can only be good for me!:lmao:

Anyone wanna play BINGO on board with me? I always read trip reports bout BINGO, but did not get the chance to play on our last cruise.
count me in too ,:thumbsup2 We'll have a Dis meet Bingo
We played once the last time and it was really good fun
The last day the jackpot was really big

I am not really into bingo - but hopefully everyone else will be, so that I can have the pool all to myself!:rotfl: :cloud9:

i concur with everyone fuel prices are crazy, ive just sold my small car that i use to get to work and starting to bike.I wonder if the high prices will remain after this crisis?let me think on that one for a second, only glad weve paid for most of the holiday also.

you've got a long way to go to catch up with me :rotfl: but maybe I've just got too much time on my hands. I think it's 100 posts to be a mouseketeer!

How far away is your home town from the port. Are you living south of Port Canaveral then - sorry, I am not very good at geography! If anyone can recommend anywhere I should visit on the coast in that area then please let me know. Is Cocoa beach itself worth a few hours visit. I really fancy St Augustine as I would love to experience some of the history of Florida, but it will be a fight to persuade the family who will want to be rushing back to the theme parks!:goodvibes

yes i am south of the port and of st. augustine, thats why i was teasing that you could drive "south to see my hometown" lol i think you and your family would LOVE st. augustine, its so pretty and ya know it is the oldest city in the USA! so there is alot of history. the horse drawn buggys are so fun, you can take ghost tours, stay at a yummy BnB, walk along the same cobblestone roads that have been there since the city, eat at an authentic old spnish bakery, which we LOVE! and so on....getting the pic? lol lemme know if you make those plans, and BTW whats a few more hours wait for the parks? they will still be there when yor done!

it sounds lovely - I would love to do the ghost tour :scared1: we might bump into some ancient pirates! Now all I have to do is persuade the troops - either that or just get very lost on the way back to Orlando - after all I am the driver!

Whoops - just realised after discussing my St Augustine plans with DH, that this Saturday in question was to be our designated shopping day once we return to Orlando - and with 4 teenagers ready to hit the outlet malls I don't think my St Augustine side trip will get a look in. :confused3

Looks like I will have to put that one on hold until DH and I do our Florida road trip once all the kids have flown the nest.

Yesterday, I was asked by one of the other Pharmacists if she could, "talk with you about something". This usually isn't the phrase used at the start of a good news meeting. The break room is back by the office I share with other supervisors. The door to the break room opens, and there stands most of the department. A chocolate cake, with "Welcome Max" on top with little paw prints and bones, balloons, and presents. And, I've been told by several people that they forgot their presents, and will be bringing them in today or tomorrow. It took the better part of an hour last evening for me to show Christine everything. We've purchased 3 toys to date, but I think Max got three times that amount yesterday. It was great fun, plus more exposure for the breed. Never dreamt I'd receive a doggie shower.
Max should start his Palm Beach to Harrisburg trip tomorrow, and arrive around noon on Saturday. I've got to work, so Christine and a friend from CVS will go up to get him, unless he is running late. If I'm home from work, I'll be able to go. Now, I must go continue prep work.
:groom:

Sean, that is so cool that your co-workers threw you a doggie shower! What a nice bunch of people they must be.

Saturday can't come fast enough, can it? LOL! It's the same way I felt with my c-section surgery date! Okay, a little different, but the same anxiety!! Sorry you have to work, but maybe things will work out that you'll be able to go.

So, do we get to call you "Dad" and "Mom" now?!:lmao: :lmao:
