2nd for us!
We had 2nd on our last & it worked out great, not having to rush to get ready & we tended to feed our lo b4 so he could fall asleep if he wanted!
He will be 3 next time though so who knows? Still chose 2nd as we tend to eat later than 5.30 anyway!
Plus big bonus....we get to eat breakfast later on last morning & so leave the ship later!!

we will be doing second seating again as well! i am used to eating earlier when at home, but what we do is order the cheese platter from room service while we are getting dressed for the night and then head to the show - it give us a little something in our bellies to hold us over to dinner! :thumbsup2

WE have the first seating and I am hoping we can have the later rotation
(6:00), My DS always gets sick the 1st night so we really dont want to go to animators 1st.

Cheese plate yummm. It is my favorite room service thing.Sitting on the balcony at night ,enjoying the cheese plate... does not get much better than that.Or does it? Had one just about every night. Anything else on the room service menu I should try?

We have 2nd seating this cruise. For our first two, we did early seating, and it worked out OK. But last year DH and I did an adults-only anniversary cruise and we tried late seating. We LOVED it!

Yes, definitely order the cookies and milk at night before bed!

We have 1st seating. It worked really well for us last time.

I definitely want to try a Palo brunch this time around. We did dinner the first time and it was good, but I would like to try more things. Especially dessert!!

As far as trinkets to give other dis'ers, My favorite thing was a bag that had our "Cinco Dis Mayo" cruise title on it and the dates. It held all the stuff that the kids rec'd. They rec'd glow bracelets, goody bags, pirate stuff and the list goes on and on.

I didn't bring anything for the kids, just a diecut of our cruise title for my fellow scrapbookers.

We had first seating last time, and although it meant a rush to get ready every night, it worked really well for us. Friends of ours had late, and said they didn't get through a meal without one of the kids having a melt down. Our two were so well behaved at supper (it was hard to believe they were mine! :rolleyes1 ) that I'd be afraid to mess with it! That, and DS7 was ready to crash every night by 10, so I can't imagine trying to get a meal into him when he's that tired. He also wasn't that fussy on the kids clubs, so feeding him early and checking him into the club wasn't really an option. I'm hoping he'll like the clubs better this time. As we get closer to the sail date, and we tell them we're going again, I'm hoping he'll make some friends through this forum and be less shy. :thumbsup2

We have been booked for several weeks, just been lurking. traveling this cruise will be myself Virginia, DH eric DD's Danie 12 & 8 atoc. Second dinning, cat 5. this will be our second cruise. I read about a list for group brunch at Palos, I would like to be put on the list.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hello Castlegazer: We cruised with you on the 4/29. It will be great seeing you again.

My parents are now hoping to join us for our vacation to Florida next October but dont want to do the Disney Cruise bit!!
They are in their 70's(young type though!) & feel the DCL is not for them..I'v tried to persuade them but they think they will prefer The Carnival Glory which leaves the same day (different ports of call)
Anyone help me out here? Is DCL not for them?My parents have cruised many times before & I'm worried The Carnival will dissappoint them?

Well, Sally, we are no spring chickens and we are cruisin' on Disney. We figure there will be great shows, great food, plenty of tropical cocktails, & we get to do some things with our grandaughter & some adult type stuff, too. There will be 4 generations of us ranging from 9 years old to 79. And personally, I could care less what the ports of call are; it's all about the "unpack once, eat & drink to my heart's content & be waited on for an entire week" for me. No cooking, cleaning, driving, laundry, yard work, etc. AND I get to spend time with my family, too.

I'm pretty sure there is a big difference between a Carnival Cruise & a Disney Cruise. Can't really say for sure since I haven't been on either but I hear things.;)

VIRGINIA!!
We are on this cruise too! And so is Trish!

We are The Roses, aka the Pirate and His Wench (PAHW). We are two middle-aged kids taking our second cruise. Last April we cruised with Ulittletinker, Castlegazer, Rubysmom, and a whole lotta other DIS'ers that we are trying to talk into joining us again.

We are looking forward to meeting this group of DIS'ers as well. And we'd love to join the group at Palo if you can fit us in (that back room only holds about 20).

That is too funny. I’m glad to see familuar faces on this cruise. I was booked on the PC west coast, but the cost was killing me, so I canceled and decided to take this cruise instead, and save for the new ships 20011/12. As for the Palo Brunch I’m trying to figure out who was starting a list for Palo Brunch, I think I read somewhere, a list was started for dinner.. I would be happy to organize it if no has done so.. I have the Fax for the individual who handles Palos ressi.

Happy 4th to all. Just think, in about a year, excursion/Palo/Spa booking will start to open. We're currently in full planning mode for our Halloween Eastern this fall. I found a link to the Spa Fitness Classes from a Double Dip from last fall yesterday for DW. She's really getting excited now. Will let you know what special Halloween things we experience.

Happy 4th to everyone.
It has rained here in Indiana but that is OK. I just got off from work and will be taking a nap between cookouts. While you are out having fun today keep my brother in your prayers. He is at Fort Dix now and will be leaving for Iraq soon.
On another note, Where are we on our countdown. I am too tired to figure it out. Thanks to everyone who is trying to get us organized.
