We have watched Stargate Atlantis on occassion - usually right before BSG comes on.

Jason is a big Star Trek Next Generation fan...I like some of them and others I just like to mock. I will admit to being a huge fan of Star Trek Deep Space Nine, however; we're just ooooozing with geekish tendencies at our house.

Cass, don't feel bad. You're going to get to make up for WDW deprivation with a monster trip next year and think how much fun you guys will have with Kira and your extended family! Can Jason and I send you some form of pixie dust to tide you over until then?

A co-worker of mine left yesterday for a long weekend in Louisville, Kentucky, (he has some college buddies who live down there and the 9th is a federal holiday in the US - one of the good things about working at a bank!) and bless his cute little heart if he didn't take $20 from me and stop at the Louisville Hard Rock to get my man some pins!! He was so excited that he called me this afternoon from Louisville on his cell phone to tell me about them!

Sometimes I just love people!!

Probably won't be back on the thread until Sunday - we've got family in town this weekend and I'm going to the spa tonight before BSG and there's playoff baseball...so much to do so little time.

50 Odd years ago my dad went to the wedding of his youngest brother john and his very beautiful young bride,at the meal afterwards my dear old par got talking to the brides bother and my dad being the type of chap who'd talk to the dead given half a chance was soon giving him the 50 questions "where you from,what you do,who you with"...."Am an actor" came the answer back (my dad was an ex para and bus driver back then and where he grow up they were lucky to eat let alone meet an "actor" the name's STEWART,Patrick Stewart save to say my dad had never heard of the fella and put the bloke down as the local head case,come some 35 years laters the blokes one of the most famous faces on TV and still has family around where we live,if only my dad had thought to get jason an Autograph back then,well Hindsight is a wonderful thing....

ps...as for the wedding it only lasted 6 weeks the poor girl had cancer (knowone knew at the time of the wedding she became unwell on the honeymoon)she dead just 6 weeks after taking her vows....john re-married less than 6 months later,who did he wed?....THE CHIEF BRIDESMAID they were married for 40 odds years and made a fortune from fish and chip shops up until his death a couple of years ago....my late mother and most of my family hate the old battle axe who i swear looks and acts like a witch so i have to be carefull what i say about her incase she reading this thread...

Hi all - yep, big Sci FI fans here too. DH's downstairs right now watching Battlestar Galactica. I've not gotten into that one. But I love SG Atlantis! We've been watching Farscape, and I like SG too, though John dislikes that "Crichton" is on there too. And, of course Star Trek & Star Wars are favorites too.

fat english gent - we named our youngest DD Samantha. Loosely based on Samantha Carter I think as my DH picked the name. He too has a thing for Amanda Tapping! Not sure if it's the combat gear, intelligence, or cute smile!

We leave next week for WDW. Going to be great! Our oldest DD is so excited because our vacation countdown chain is so short! Brenda - did you make a hat for Plankton yet? And beautiful photo by the way!

Lindy - you probably won't read this in time - but have fun! Travel safe!

Cass - please don't feel down! That baby will be the most amazing thing in your life! Missing going to WDW this year will be so worth it when she's born! Hang in there!

I'm a big Battlestar fan. I used to watch the original series when it was on and so naturally got hooked on this one. Last night's episode was very good.

Yes, it was quite a good episode...much better than Jay and I thought it was going to be based on how the season ended in the spring. And quite the cliffhanger last night, too. But can I just say...I can't stand "Fat Apollo!" To take as fine a specimen of male beauty as Jamie Bamber and turn him into some horrible caricature for some still unknown purpose....I protest!! I want my eye-candy back!!

Hey, Pooh! Have a good trip! We are going to make Plankton's hat once we get to WDW...can't seem to find any Mickey antennae toppers around here these days (thanks for the heads up on them being solid - we thought they were hollow!).

The 11 day cruise was wonderful...just a shame we had to come home.

Anybody read that thread about the guy whose kids received some gift baskets in error on a recent cruise? Once he realized the mistake, rather than contacting guest services or the people he suspected were supposed to receive the basket he did nothing until he got home because he didn't want to disappoint his own kids. He kindly... called The Perfect Gift once he got home.

I don't get it.

PS. Karen, from someone who lives in the very middle of the US, going to Berlin for a few days sounds pretty darn good to me!!

Yup, I read that thread already. I didn't get it either. He/she actually let the kids play with the stuff and then after a week they felt guilty? Imagine how upset the the other parents must have been with Shirley (The Perfect Gift)??

I'll try to keep the thread going but....bad news in Wisconsin. I believe my cancer is back. I'm seeing the good doctor on the 19th for confirmation on something I already know. I'm trying to keep a stiff upper lip but I do get a little weepy at times. If anyone feels like saying an extra little prayer for me, I'll gladly accept!! Better yet...if anyone wants to take me along on their trip to WDW, I'll gladly accept that too!!

Any volunteers???
