October 20th 2007 Western Magic Part 9

So sorry to hear that Victoria. Parasailing got cancelled on Castaway Cay? I couldn't believe it!!
I thought the weather was great all day? Me too--apparently someone running the parasailing didn't agree!

We bought a bottle of Fairy Tale on formal night for our table and then our tablemates, Mark and Janice bought a bottle for our last night on the ship:) :thumbsup2 Yummy stuff--perfect with the oysters rockefeller and the tuna!!

Still so sad it's all over:sad1:

When our bill came Friday night they still billed us for the parasailing! :scared1: Even the guy at guest services didn't think it had been cancelled--I had to find someone else to prove it to him.

I haven't even started reading your trip report yet Karen. I really am behind here :scared1: Is it under the cruise trip reports? Could you post a link to it?

Wow! - I have my very own "plugger":goodvibes - thanks Paige:thumbsup2 - Loads of CC photos are on now folks - more tomorrow - I've had enough of photobucket and pc's and cameras for one day:sad2:

Victoria I really should get out to see you at Unkort before Thanksgiving! I should take some wine and lemoncello up to my sisters with us for Thanksgiving weekend. Are you working this Fri. or Sat. at all?

Cheryl--

I would love to see you--I will be there Friday 5-8pm and on Saturday 10-5.
You are welcome any time!!

Its been fun chatting here again! This is just what I needed, so what the house is a mess right.
I have to run now and pick Rachel up from her student council meeting. Hopefully I'll get back on later!

Oops Victoria I stole your FO, sorry.

Ok I'l try and make it out there one of those days and maybe I'll stop at Mileagers too! I have a feeling Rachel will insist on coming with me to say hi too.

Nancy, so January is the best time to switch the cruise over to AAA? You get more onboard credits doing it than than in other months? It will be hard to give up the control but I will turn our next cruise over to AAA to get the extra onboard credits too. I hope I remember what "safe place" I put your AAA travel agents name and number in, otherwise I might need to get it from you again.

Cheryl,

The $150 AAA OBC is all the time ($75 if you have a Cat 10-12). You can transfer it I think any time before final payment is due. I would wait until Jan 2009 or later to transfer it. I transferred our for last month this past May. I had everything set with rotation requests, tablemate linking (Hi Karen), etc, before I released it.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

Hi Jen Rachel and I were talking about the cruise the other night, well actually we have been taking about it constantly since getting home :rotfl2: and I said I never even saw Thomas on the ship. Did you really bring him with ;) everytime I saw you he wasn't with you. Someone told me you couldn't get him out of the kids club. That is great that he had so much fun!

Honestly, we couldn't get him out of the club! He almost did not want to go on the Pirate Excursion! He didn't want to go to Key West (we were going to ride the trolley and see the lighthouse - he likes the lighthouses in Door Co.). He didn't really want to leave for Pirate night dinner, and he went back in the club for a while after dinner 'cuz they were having some fun programs (Smee and Peter Pan dropped by). And he didn't want to go to Disney Dreams either! He did spend all of CC day with us, and quite a bit of the first day. We all went to the Twice Charmed matinee, too.

For us, it was nice - we really did get a family vacation and a couples vacation all in one. Looking forward to the next one!

It's funny, but Zachary tolerated the Clubs, but only when we needed him to go there--Exotic Rasul :rolleyes1 , KK Wine tasting, and Palo Brunch. We were paged all three times, but luckily we were finished each time so it didn't bother us at all. We did take him to Goofy's pajama party and I stayed with him when Peter Pan was there before the Pirate Party. I think he would have loved it if I had stayed there the whole time with him!!

Teddy loved the Lab, but was mad that so many of his age group's activities weren't really in the lab, but other locations. He didn't like that so much. He loved having the Quest just down the hall from our stateroom.

My kids LOVED the shows--Zachary brought home confetti and streamers every night to "decorate" our room. We were lucky--we always had awesome seats--usually very close to Jonathon. We seemed to run in the same circles as him. Did anyone else?

Well Rob and I talked it over and we MIGHT be joining you guys for KK2.

There's a lot of ifs for it work out... and our little pincess would not be joining us this time.

I just wish DCL had a better policy for their rebooking discount as we did not rebook onboard since we really didn't think we would be back for awhile. :guilty:

Things are looking better for KK2 all the time!

is anyone having as hard a time getting back into the swing of things as we are?
i still havnt seen all of our pics yet or the videos for that matter.
cant seem to get caught up.:scared:
and this weekend cassie will be home as our daughter in law is having a surprise 30th bday party for our son. :grouphug:

I haven't gotten through all my pics yet either, also I haven't had a chance to post to the internet those that I wish to share. Halloween came at me fast and now I'm cramming for Christmas. I'm so far behind!

I've been on since we returned--just haven't posted the last few days. Hard to read about your parasailing joys as our parasailing at 2:30 got cancelled. In fact, we had 3 different excursions on 3 different days get cancelled. We had to work really hard not to get discouraged. With some of the money we saved I bought a bottle of Fairy Tale Cuvee on Sem-Formal night. ;)

Our Dolphin Encounter was cancelled. I decided to turn lemons into lemonade and used the $300 to defray the cost of rebooking onboard.

Good to know... I was planning to go with Dreams Unlimited this time but I noticed that they are only offering $100 OBC right now. Since I think that I will be going Cat 9 again the extra $50 might be worth going back to AAA. Although, I will probably go to a different TA since the last one disappointed me so.

That's what I was hoping for as well. But my kids didn't really warm up to the Kid's clubs until the last few days of the cruise. Next time they'll be experienced and older so maybe I'll get that family/couples vacation that I'm hoping for.

Yeah, We had an Awesome time. You guys party like Rock Stars!!! No wonder you guys looked like you were draggin' in those photos the day we all disembarked. I can't wait to do it all over again next time in 2009. :yay: Hopefully, Lori will be able to join in on all the fun too! As goes for everyone else. The more the merrier.:dance3:

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :woohoo:

I do have to say... we have never partied 7 nights in a row before. and probably never will again :faint: :rotfl2:

Are you saying you're NOT going on the KK2 cruise then? :confused3

Don't think you'll get out of the 7-night party with the KK group.

But without Kira, we won't be able to parasail. :sad2: She's our good luck charm.........

chicks have been taking off their bras for cinnamike for years.
its a curse i have to live with. :cool2: pirate:
(they really do dig the scar)
:lmao: Must be unbearable living with that curse

who havnt we heard from since returning?
lurking lynn? you still lurking?
wine diva? you out there?
stcruisers? you embarrased to show after your bball no show?
team fancy pants? still wearing that pink shirt jesse?
Has anyone heard from the newlyweds....we were just down the hall from them, they made a great couple.

Cass we had that happen to us once too. We didn't rebook on board because Al was saying at the time next cruise should be on a different cruise line to give something else a try :scared1: and then within a week or two of being home we had convinced him to book with Disney again. Now I just atomatically rebook while on board to get the discount and incentive and we can always move the date or worse yet :scared1: cancel if we had to. I wish DCL rewarded their repeat cruisers with incentives similar to rebooking on board like some of the other cruise lines do! Hopefully they will in the future!
I'm in the same boat as Cass, kicking myself right now. But we do have AAA so I think I will look into that.

gotta go start dinner guys.
cinnamike out.:cool2:
You have a scar and you cook, wow how do you keep the girls off of ya. Robin is one heck of a lucky gal....sorry Robin it's the scar can't help the flirting.;)

We were lucky--we always had awesome seats--usually very close to Jonathon. We seemed to run in the same circles as him. Did anyone else?
Never really sat by him but we did bump into him during Karaoke, he did pretty good, but when he was done he was out of there. Then during the shows even being in the upper level you always knew where he was. He was definately living it up on the cruise.

That's what I was hoping for as well. But my kids didn't really warm up to the Kid's clubs until the last few days of the cruise. Next time they'll be experienced and older so maybe I'll get that family/couples vacation that I'm hoping for.

This was Sarah's second cruise, and it still took her a little while to warm up to the clubs. I think though if it hadn't been for one of our tablemates and her hitting it off, she probably wouldn't have gotten as involved. Well that and the HSM2 party.

Steve,
When will the xmas decorations be completed? We may make a trip to your neck of the woods to see them, going around neighborhoods and looking at all the decorations has become a tradition in our house.

So for this KK2, are we all just looking at the date and no one cares too much where we're going? Or are there some that want a specific itinerary?

We'll be on the ship regardless of where it is going that week. I would like it to be a Double Dip (which it should be if they are doing them that year) or an Eastern (love the islands and extra day at sea on that route).

Even if it is another Western, we'll manage to suffer through somehow. :rotfl:

StCruisers are busy with wedding plans and Team FUN Pants is busy with school and basketball. All four kids are coaching this year as well as Charlie Tuna. That gives me nights alone with Cabo and the TV (ooops, I mean excercise bike).:thumbsup2

Hmmmm, I don't know Jeff. When we transfered the KK cruise over to AAA after booking it there were no AAA credits. I only received them when I switched staterooms to a Cat 6 from a Cat 7 last spring. Our TA told us to wait until January because they are not running any specials right now. Maybe each AAA does things differently? I don't know now. Sorry Cheryl, I'm not much help am I?

anybody else think robin just doesnt look good in a hat?:lmao:
sorry, inside joke.

I think Robin looks adorable in her hat!!:thumbsup2

IF we get to go I don't care what itinerary it is. Double dip would be great though, is that one still 2 sea days?
