October 20th 2007 Western Magic Part 9

That gives me nights alone with Cabo and the TV (ooops, I mean excercise bike).:thumbsup2

I think Robin looks adorable in her hat!!:thumbsup2
:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Excercise bike? What's that?

Mike has told me from the day he met me...
I don't look good in baseball caps.

I was actually wearing a whitesox hat, (when I was in Chicago), the first time I met his mom. (I met here before I met Mike)
(She liked it!)

What can I say... the guy has no taste! ;)

:lmao: Must be unbearable living with that curse

You have a scar and you cook, wow how do you keep the girls off of ya. Robin is one heck of a lucky gal....sorry Robin it's the scar can't help the flirting.;)

It's actually not a curse...... It's his own little dream world. :lmao:

That's ok.... flirt all you want. As long as he's happy, dinner will be ready when I get home from work. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

By the way Robin, Sean is going to attempt to say hi to everyone this weekend. He loves your "I'm sweeter than I look" line

Mike spent part of today cleaning up after our hurricane (Addison)

I watched her yesterday morning until 10 AM & then Mike took over.

Here's a few pics of her getting into everything.

Thanks Jeff yes that helps! I'll probably wait as long as possible to transfer it. I like being able to call DCL directly to set everything up too.

BTW we ate at Oscar's tonight. Al was starving after having a colonoscopy today so we had lunch at Perkins after the colonoscopy and then he has been craving a malt and cheeseburger from Oscars ever since he had to stop eating for the prep so we went there for dinner. I thought of the nice mini KK meet we had had there this past summer. I am now stuffed after having lunch and dinner out, at least my stomach feels like it was on the cruise again :lmao:

Cheryl,

The $150 AAA OBC is all the time ($75 if you have a Cat 10-12). You can transfer it I think any time before final payment is due. I would wait until Jan 2009 or later to transfer it. I transferred our for last month this past May. I had everything set with rotation requests, tablemate linking (Hi Karen), etc, before I released it.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

I'm hoping we'll be on the ship regardless of where it is going that week (unless they go to Alaska that summer we would definitely consider that). I would rather it wasn't a Western after doing 4 Westerns in a row now but because of that week being when school is out for a few days that is when we would consider going if that will work out OK for Rach in high school.

So for this KK2, are we all just looking at the date and no one cares too much where we're going? Or are there some that want a specific itinerary?

We'll be on the ship regardless of where it is going that week. I would like it to be a Double Dip (which it should be if they are doing them that year) or an Eastern (love the islands and extra day at sea on that route).

Even if it is another Western, we'll manage to suffer through somehow. :rotfl:

Thanks Nancy for the added info! I will check the AAA website and see if they have any info on there, otherwise I'll make a few phone calls and see what kind of responses I get. I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Hmmmm, I don't know Jeff. When we transfered the KK cruise over to AAA after booking it there were no AAA credits. I only received them when I switched staterooms to a Cat 6 from a Cat 7 last spring. Our TA told us to wait until January because they are not running any specials right now. Maybe each AAA does things differently? I don't know now. Sorry Cheryl, I'm not much help am I?

Robin, Addison is such a cutie :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: She reminds me of my great-nephew and great-nieces. They are like little energizer bunnies. I wish I had just a fraction of their energy!

Thanks...
She is a busy little thing.

With those blue eyes... she doesn't look anything like my kids. They have dark hair and almost black eyes.

She actually looks just like her Mommy.

I think she looks a little like PaPa. (Mike)

I've never not gotten a discount from them. It has always been $150 for an ocean view and it use to be $50 for an inside, but now it is $75.

In the back of our cruise docs there was a page that told us what we got for booking with AAA. It explained the $150/$75 thingy as well as let us know we got 10% off in Treasure Ketch if we spent more than $75 (which Suz did :sad2: ).

I know that many of the online TA's (DU and Magical Journeys) don't know what they are doing for the next year's promotions until January, so maybe that is why your AAA TA is saying to wait until January. They may not know what they are giving out. But once they set it, it should be good all year.

I would wait until you move your date with DCL to 2009 before moving to AAA. Then ask AAA if they have anything for 2009 cruises. They may not because the promo they release in January will be for 2008 only. That is why I will hold my ressie until 2009 and then transfer it.

I'm guessing you didn't get the promo on last month's cruise initially because they were holding an existing ressie when it came out, not a new/transferred ressie. The promo was only for new ressies. Once you switched your room, it changed the pricing in the system and it looked like a new ressie. Again, if they are not offering you the $150 for a 2009 cruise in Jan 2008, don't move it yet or you may be in the same situation. However, their new promo may be through 2009 since the 2008 cruises have been out for 10 months and pretty much booked up.

Hope that clears it up a little bit.

what!! no kira?
well then we arnt going either.:rotfl2: :lmao:

Yeah, no sorry but if we do make KK2 it will be just the big kids ;)

It would be great if you could join us!

I can understand about not bringing Kira - I/we attempted a couple of trips when Thomas was very young (7 months, 1 1/2 years, 2 1/2 years). To be honest, now that he's 4 1/2, this was the first trip that felt like a VACATION, instead of the "daily routine" in another place.

I suppose now we should all join the 2009 dates thread on the DCL board.... :scared1:

Yup, that's exactly what it felt to us, her daily routine with (harder) new surroundings. We had some very special moments like with the Stingrays but honestly, I felt like we paid $3200 to do what we do here, except someone cooked and cleaned for me :rolleyes1

I think I have had a memory loss fo before.....can't remember though

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Victoria that's awful  3 excursions cancelled on you  Part of me wishes our 2:00 banana boat ride that went out at about 2:30 (they were running behind) had been cancelled. I rode in the front and when we got out in the open water I got all the ocean spray in my face and I think I drank half the ocean too :lmao: , especially on the way back when we were going into the wind and the waves, aside from that it was alot of fun though. I hadn't even realized they cancelled the para-sailing  Now you just have to go again to get all those missed excursions in!

That's one of the reasons I haven't done the banana boat thing. Plus with my Lupus, I don't think I could hold on. "Sorry folks, we have to stop YET AGAIN for Cass...anyone wanna leave her behind this time??? " :rotfl2:

Cass we had that happen to us once too. We didn't rebook on board because Al was saying at the time next cruise should be on a different cruise line to give something else a try :scared1: and then within a week or two of being home we had convinced him to book with Disney again. Now I just atomatically rebook while on board to get the discount and incentive and we can always move the date or worse yet :scared1: cancel if we had to. I wish DCL rewarded their repeat cruisers with incentives similar to rebooking on board like some of the other cruise lines do! Hopefully they will in the future!

Of course I am kicking myself now. But Disney really needs to change their policy! I mean what is the big deal if I book ON the ship or one week after I get off??? Or 6 months?? The point is that I am a return customer and giving me a special offer to rebook (onboard or not) is incentive to come back!

But without Kira, we won't be able to parasail. :sad2: She's our good luck charm.........

Sorry, but at least you got to do it this time! :thumbsup2 I don't think we would do it again next time. It's too short for $150!!! I'd be parking my large butt in a hammock in the shade on Serenity Bay

I'm in the same boat as Cass, kicking myself right now. But we do have AAA so I think I will look into that.

I don't think CAA (Canadian version of AAA) offers those kinds of booking credits here in Canada. Perhaps in the East but not in Alberta. Oh well, guess I miss out on my $200 + 10% :sad1: I should be able to get $50-75 from Dreams.
