We are Monk watchers too. Last night is the first night we watched Psych and it was good too.

Glad you liked Psych.

To bad it was the season finale last night. You should be able to catch up on the reruns before the next season starts in January. It is a funny show.

I never like Dule Hill on West Wing, but I like his character on Psych.

Monk is awesome as well. Did you know he is from Green Bay?

Heather I looked at the link too. That really does look neat and the next time we are at Disney around Christmas we will have to check this out! We have friends that are going to down there at this time this year, I'll have to let them know about this.

It does seem a bit pricey for the amont of time you stay in there, but it certainly makes Christmas.

Congrats Jeff to you and your DS and your football team :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

O.K., I'm back.

Had to run out and coach DS's football game. They are first and second graders. They killed the other team.

We scored (o.k., we don't keep score, but the kids remember every touchdown) about 6 or 7 touchdowns and one safety (don't count those either). It was DS's turn to play running back for 1/2 the game and he scored a touchdown almost the whole length of the field (50 yards).

Our defense only gave up 1 first down (mid-field is the first down mark) and when they did cross it, the boys stopped them (you have either score or you turn it over on downs). No scores for the other team.

I was so proud of all of them (I have 4 first graders and 5 second graders). Last week they were kind of all over the place and it was just a back and forth for each teams offense. Not sure if it was due to us only having one practice before the game (the other got rained out). But this week, they all played together so well and the defense remembered what I tought them at Tuesday's practice. We'll just have to build up the pass defense a little more this week and work on some more offensive technique and I think they will be ready for next week.

Can you tell I'm excited and proud of all the boys?

O.K., no to go catch up on what I've missed.

Laura is going there next week. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) convention.

That's too cool.

We're of to to TheFatMan and the family tonight, so I'm about to log off. The weather today has been glorious. Not a cloud in the sky and the sun is so bright. Pity we didn't get it earlier in the summer.

Quick happy birthday :cheer2: :cheer2: party: party: party: party: :cake: :cake: :cheer2: :cheer2: to Ellis.

Have a great day.

Thanks.

It was a great morning.

Even the kids you thought wouldn't catch on or play well (because they are new to it) did a great job.

This high will last for me until practice on Tuesday. Then it's a new week for them.

I was surprised to see it was the season finale for both of these shows last night. I will have to get caught up on Monk too, we are big Monk fans but with it having been a busy summer I missed most of them this season.

Glad you liked Psych.

Aren't your coaching days coming up pretty soon? How old is your DS?

It is great watching them play. Sometimes it's comical. Other days, at this age, you get disgusted with how competitive some of the other coaches are. I was just reminding the kids of what and how they should play their positions and help them if they went the wrong way. They listened and it worked.

This is my first time coaching. I'm trying to be as fair as possible to each child (I stayed up late last night setting the positions for every game so each kid plays each position twice - four times as receiver. ) DS will not play QB until the 4th week. And since it is 5 on 5 and we only have 9 players, we have to rotate some kids to play both ways. I won't have DS do that until at least next week - week 3. The last thing I want is the other parents thinking I'm playing favorites.

I never played organized baseball, so I won't coach that. I may help out with basketball.

But Football, I love football. I played through HS and because I was the same size from Freshman year through Senior year, I played all areas (except QB). Fresh yr I was Offensive Line and Defensive End. Soph year I played Running Back and Linebacker, Jr year I played Tight-end and Defensive Back and Senior year I played Wide Receiver and Defensive Back. I also was the Kicker from Fresh through Junior years. Never thought all that moving around would come in handy some day.

The thing I like about both shows, and all USA programs, is that they run 2 seasons. One in Summer and another starting in January (at least for Monk and Psych).

Bye Cheryl.

I'm off too. I have to get the grass cut. This should be ending soon I hope.

Stuart is 6 now. I'm not sure how much he will get into sports. Laura's father is hoping for at least one athlete amongst his grandchildren, but Stuart is much like his father and my father. The lure of electronics is too hard to withstand. Although, I have to admit to being quite proud of him the other day when the school had a Jog-a-thon. He did 20 laps (2nd in the class. A young girl, who is destined for the Olympics, beat him by 2 laps.)

Good job Stuart!

Nothing wrong with a runner. Most techy people are, aren't they? Or is that the other way around, most runners are techy in nature?

DS isn't as much into sports as he is his legos (or anything building or creating) and computer games. We just sign him up and take him to the games and practices. We're those bad parents that force their kids into sports. :rotfl2: No, he actually likes playing sports. He is definitely not as athletic as some of the other kids. You can also tell who has older brothers. Don't think he's into it as much as I was when I was his age. Luckily he won't be going to the public HS here (2,400+ students). He'd have a hard time making the team there. This school produces good players - several college scholarship recepients. Actually the league he is in now is the "farm" system for the HS. Starting in 5th grade they tackle and use the HS's plays. There are 8 K-8 schools here that feed the HS. Each school has at least one team in the league he is in right now, some with 2 or 3. I think in all, there are over 200 kids in the First/Second Grade program alone.

The private HS we're sending him to isn't that bad either and I think won state the other year. So he'll have to grow and practice if he wants to play there. Now Private and Public play together, so he could play against the neighbor kids.

If anyone who didn't request wristbands wants some, I have about 5 each of Lg and Md.

Just send me a PM if you are interested.

Off to lunch and run errands. Then yardwork.

Talk to you all tonight.

Yep the "L" is off. They rescheduled it a while ago.

I'm with you, I hate all the reshuffling that they airlines do nowdays. I bought tix for my wife to attend a convention in Orlando an have gotten countless emails from expedia about schedule changes. Luckily, none have been significant enought to cause problems, but it is a pain!

Looks like October 23rd is still the day they are shooting for, though with all the stuff from STS-118 you would think that it would have been postponed.
Here's the STS-120 news release:
