We are from the UK, its me linda who going to be 40 on Tuesday, my husband Wayne and our Daughter Elouise who is 5. We have cruised on the Wonder, loved it so much booked for the Magic this Oct. We will have 10 days at WDW before the cruise and 1 night after.
We love Florida and try and go every year. Though next year we are crusing the med for 2 weeks on RC. Wayne and I, for my birthday celebrations are on RC in March for a week on the Liberty. ADULT cruise, so cant wait in some ways, but sad to leave Elouise behind in others.

Its me, Susan, my partner Mary, our two boys Tyler, 16 on cruise date, and Trevor, 11 on cruise date, my two nephews, Paul 20 and Andrew 18. So we will be a large group and the boys will always be near food I am sure. LOL

All this time I kept seeing the FO here and there. At the very first sighting I saw the words Fresh One and the lovely picture of Kira.. so I thought her mom was a bit odd announcing diaper changing in some odd way. LOL Then I kept seeing it and thought it was a clean form of cussing on the boards because I saw FO or FU asked a few times. So even seeing fresh one I thought what are they talking about? Re-reading to see if someone said some comment that seemed flirty or FRESH. And all this time it just meant a new page. First to post on the new page. I feel like such a detective. LOL

Hello Karen... I'm thrilled to have found you all. And I am sure you are in for a lot of reading... just overnight there is like 5-10 pages. Loved seeing the pics! I am thinking the 10 page night was when they were trying to make a new record on pages though. And with everyone so talkative do you think when everyone meets onboard they will stand there all shy?

I have asked myself the same question - we all talk every day to each other NOW but I wonder if we will even see each other on the cruise?!?!?!?

Anyone have past experience?

I'd use the note for your out of the air portion from DCL. You can use Magical Express to get to WDW (free) and then the DCL buses to Port and back to the Airport. I think those are about $70 a person, not sure exactly though. It's worth a shot, plus you could get on the non-stop flight.

We are waiting to see if she gets a note. We should know sometime on Monday. But at the same time will they let the note work for all 7 of us or just her. Our reservations are seperate. It is her, dad, and our DS. Then our res is for me, DH, DD, DD. I have a gut feeling they will seperate us.

We plan on booking the 8:15 and then hopefully getting the 11:30 Island Tour. But now it sounds like we won't be able to due to timing.

Our plan is to then go to "Public Beach" on Seven Mile Beach (I posted a while back that this is where you want to go on SMB - at least what I've read online). We think we'd have about 1-2 hours there after the island tour.

If we don't get the island tour, we may take a cab up to Hell and then the Turtle Farm (if DS wants to go there) and then to the beach. I think this would be the better way to do it anyways, but Suz thinks differently. The island tour doesn't do much more than that. If you get a good cabbie, they will tell you all about the island anyways.

we want the early pirate boat too then off to Hell in a cab and then that beach you're talking about. Think we'll skip the turtles though

Elouise went and had 2 half days in her new school this week. She seemed to settle in really quickly, thanks goodness! I think I was much more nervous than her !

She is an "owl" and wil be this for the next 2 years ( all through infants school ) The school is smaller and kind of more friendly. I think this is a good thing, but kind of everyone knows everyone else, which is nice in some ways, but in others ????

Her teacher says she is above average in maths and English, so she will work in yr 2 for topics, which is a year ahead of her age. We are pleased with this, but we dont mind were she works as long as she is happy.

She only has 8 more days at her old school, then holidays then starts new school on 4th Sep.

Well done Elouise for settling into your new school

In Canada we use the metric system just like in Britain but we only started in the early 1970s. So our cars drive 100kilometers/hour, we love it when its 32 degrees celcius, and we weigh in grams and kilograms.

There are still some Canadians that use the older Imperial method and many people use a combination of both. For example, I think of cold temperatures better in Celsius (I understand -10 degrees C better than I understand 20 degrees F) but for hot temperatures I am better in Farenheit (90 degrees F means more than 30 degrees C). I weigh myself in pounds but I understand distance best in metres and kilometres. Its twisted and confusing. The next generation will have been in Metric their whole lives so they will only think that way.

We still use teaspoons and tablespoons for measurements in cooking as well. There are 3 teaspoons for every tablespoon. 1 Teaspoon is 5 millilitres.

For kids - metric is great as most things are based on 100. 100 centimetres to 1 metre (vs having to remember 12 inches in a foot or 39 inches in a yard).
