October 2013!

Hi y'all! I am joining in the October thread. We had a trip planned for Labor Day week but I tore my rotator cuff and had to reschedule. My girls and I were so blue, but we have perked up again at the thought of MNSSHP and F&W, our favorite events! We will be at CBR from 10/6-13 for Homeschool days on 10/9, MNSSHP on 10/10. Can't wait! :)

What's up, October buddies?? :goodvibes

I'm going to be there at Pop from Oct 22nd-well, hmmm. Here's the thing, the trip was intended as a 4-day trip, but became a 5-day trip when I booked it. Within a few days it was a 6-day trip and it was meant to stay as that. After a few months I decided what the heck, 6 days isn't long enough and called to add on a day BUT in the spur of the moment on the phone, added on two days. Then a month ago I realized I could only reasonably fit in a second MNSSHP if I extended by a another day, so I'm at 9 days and its set in stone! :rolleyes1

But but but.... tonight as I was going over the itinerary I thought, do I really want to do MNSSHP on my last night? Will I be able to enjoy it given that the last night is always bittersweet and a little sad? And it's tradition to watch Wishes on the last night then say goodbye to the castle :confused3

I might have to add on one more day and fly home on Halloween pixiedust:

It is so awesome to look at my little countdown app and see 58 days! And soon, I'll be able to say we're going to WDW NEXT MONTH! Yay!

In other good news, DD18 got a job today (just a part-time minimum wage job at the theater, so five days off for the trip will not be a problem) so she'll be able to put away some spending money for the trip. She's been trying to find a job all summer so it's a huge relief for everyone. (She's going to community college starting next week, but only three days a week.)

Finally got the trip paid off!! :cheer2: We'll be down there 10/28-11/4 staying at CSR (our first mod resort!) So flippin excited!!! :cool1:

Haha! We did the same thing started as a 6 day trip and is now ten after 100 excuses my DH adding a day here or there and then flight prices being so high. So we are now there 10/28 to 11/6 :-D

Can anyone tell me if the Festival is worth going 2 days or just 1 day? We are trying to decide how many days we want to go, I was just thinking 1 day was enough. We don't have any premium events planned in advance.

 The F&W Festival!?! :scared1: We plan a trip every year to spend at least two full days at the festival plus three afternoon/evenings. Our goal is to at least taste everything (sharing is important!) then return for seconds of the best. There are some really neat events too, some free, some for only $14-$15. Remember, there are LOTS of extra countries this time of year! And the EttB concerts are free!

Wow! Sounds like 2 days might be necessary. I have been looking at all the stuff they have as far as the booths, tastings, etc. and thinking there was a lot, but maybe not enough for 2 whole days. Maybe so tho! Thanks for the tip.

Thanks!

We love attending the concerts too!!!!

So, on all the crowd levels for 10/15-10/20, Epcot is the park not to visit minus one day...is this only because of F&W or other reasons?? Trying to decide between a 5 day trip to the world or a 3 day DCL trip....any opinions?

Gossip Girl & MonorailCentral, we'll be there 10/26-11/4!!

Excellent! Well see you there. I'll be the guy in the monorail or Mickey shirts.

Looking forward to getting the trip underway. Waiting is not easy, but the time is passing relatively quickly.

Just found out the hubby can't go because he has to work :( :( :( I'm a sad panda!!!

I am still going with my family but I would love to have him there! Trying not to be negative since I still get to go...

Well, after a couple of months of REALLY wanting Magic Bands (not so much concerned with FP+ during such a low-attendance time of year) I finally called Disney today to see how much it would cost to switch my two night reservation to Pop Century.

When she told me $18.28, I jumped on it. So now we'll have Magic Bands (I hate digging out cards all the time) and we did book some FP+ but that was secondary to me.

We got our Mickey Mail on Saturday! This is supposed to be a "laid-back" trip, so I'm trying not to get too excited yet...:goodvibes

The trip is always laid back or relaxing (depending on your kids!). It's the build up and anticipation I need a vacation from!:lmao:
