I've been lurking on this thread because we haven't decided on where we're staying, but we will be at WDW from Oct. 23-28 after 2 1/2 weeks on a major trip to Italy and France! So, while you are visiting from Italy, we will be touring Italy. *It's a Small World After All* It will be our first time to DLRP, and then our first time at F&W!

So we had our pixie dust sprinkled on us this morning...:wizard:

After much discussion, we decided to arrive October 20th to WDW instead of the 21st. Universal is still in talks before our WDW trip.

So today was our 7-month window to try for BCV 2 bedroom and we got it!! Anyone who has tried to get BCV/BWV during F&WF knows this difficulty. I still need to call back and add on a day for anticipated dates of Oct. 20-28 (currently it's the 27th). But a huge weight of pressure is off our shoulders.

I'm still waiting on the list of dining options my parents are getting ready for us and then I can plan our park days.

We are also going in October. We will be making our annual F&W visit from 10/12-10/21. We will be staying offsite.

Is anyone else doing this? I always make adr's. This trip we aren't making any. We plan to spend most of our time at EPCOT and eat at F&W. We are trying Artist Point in early May so I might make an ADR there, if we really like it. It just doesn't feel good to not have ADR's.

I still think it's a good idea to make at least a few ADRs just in case. You can always cancel in advance.

We'll probably be eating/drinking as a meal at the F&W Fest atleast a night or two. Also, I'm planning on hitting the Swolphin Food/Wine Classic one night. But, I'm still planning on a couple ADRs for Yachtsman, Le Cellier, and maybe 1 or 2 more

Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable NOT making ADRs. But we tend to only eat TS for most large meals with some scattered CS thrown in. The only time we haven't made ADRs was many years ago when we visited in September. It was a different time then...not as busy. I just feel more comfortable knowing our times are set and we have a definite place to eat that meal.
I would also recommend visiting F&WF during the afternoon instead of the evenings as it seems to be busier at that time...and on weekends.

Something we like to do is make rating cards for the food/drink at F&WF. Usually someone in the Dining boards loads them and I print them on 3X5 index cards. I use a hole punch and attach a sharpie keychain marker to each set. As we walk around the countries hubby and I make our food/drink choices and then rate them. It's fun to look back year to year and see what we liked (or especially didn't like) each trip. Since my folks are joining this trip, I'll be making some for them too!

Totally stoked! Just bought our flights home on Airtran for $126 per person. Saved $30 a person..with bag fees we are still saving $80! Yay!! Plus, this is a direct flight at the time of day we wanted. So relieved to have this taken care of!

Wow you got an awesome price on flights. I just paid $500 for my flight and booked my DHs flight with frequent flier miles.

Booked this morning for October 20-27 at Old Key West! I am so excited to experience my first F&W and MNSSHP! I have only been to the World during the summer or during spring break, so am very excited to be there during the fall. Has anyone been during this time before? How are crowd levels/weather?

Major bump in the road to my trip! Turns out the weeks I was planning to exchange through RCI into DVC may not work! :headache::sick: So majorly bumped out and sick over the thought of it!

I"m so excited that you can use snack credits at the booths!!!

I'm a F&W newbie... are snack credits the only one you can use at the booths? What does a typical snack credit get you?

DH and I are thinking of trying the different vendors in lieu of a sit-down dinner on our day at Epcot. Neither of us have been to F&W before, so we're unsure as what to do!

I'd like to know what you can get with a snack credit too. Also I just pre-ordered my photopass for October so thanks everyone for letting me know it was going up in price.

We are going that same time!! We did this time-frame a few years back and it worked out well! Looking back at those pictures, we wore tanks/tees and shorts the entire time. I do remember it rained during one of our MNSSHP nights. I compare crowds to 6/7/8. MNSSHP nights are busier the closer to Halloween. Other than that everything is manageable. :thumbsup2

I will send good thoughts your way! I know you said you were planning on exchanging, but maybe you can rent points from someone on the DVC board?

I think one snack credit equals one F&WF serving/dish. This is what it was many years ago when DH and I were on the DP during F&WF. We actually did half snack credits/half gift card for those purchases. I would check the dining board or ask that question over there if it hasn't been asked recently. I do know the cost of food servings has gone up over the years. We are using gift cards this year. I'm buying cards for my mother and father to each use when we go.
