***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

 YAY!!! Finally in double digit numbers!!!!! We started counting at 395 days till the trip!!!! I can't believe how fast it seems to be coming now! :cheer2:

DH has yet to 'approve' this trip but I am wearing him DOWN! lol... I'm so sure of myself that I made all my ADR's & started my countdown. It just makes financial sense to go this year while my AP is still good and while we still have the TIW card to take advantage of :) I amaze myself at how much I can save and how quickly I can do it when it means I get to go to Disney!

Our dates will be Oct. 15-24 and I am PRAYING for free dining. It will just be me & DD(4). I did a mother/son trip last October and loved it. MNSSHP is so much fun (so is Food & Wine ::yes::) I am hesitant to mention it to anyone else though... it will be my 4th trip in a year and a half :wave2: and jaws will drop. Oh well. Looking forward to it!!!

Are your dates flexible at all? There is basically zero chance of free dining being offered for those dates.

We will be in WDW October 6-11th and then going on the Disney Dream for a 3night Bahama cruise. Staying at BLT in a 1BR Lake View. We have never been to F&W or to MNSSHP. So excited!!! It's right around the corner.

I can't believe our Oct trip is less than 4 months away! :goodvibes I ordered out tix from UT (to get the lower price before the price increase) and I am super-excited to get our Universal tix from a cousin in Denver from Costco! For anyone that's going to Universal, they're a great deal that I learned about on the Universal boards. They're 3 day park-to-park tickets that are only about $20 more than the 1 day park-to-park, and they're good any 3 days until 12/31/15. That means we have to go back at least once more to use them. I called many difference Costco's to find them, but was finally able to find a store that had them! Now the only thing left to do is get a rental car reserved, and buy MNNSHP tix, but I think we'll wait on those till we get to there and can check the weather. Can't wait for Oct! :thumbsup2

I've been calling periodically asking if I had a pin code with my name and never anything. I contact my TA this morning asking him how much it would cost to add the dining plan to my reservation and he called me back to tell me there was a pin code with my name for free dining! Whoo Hoo!  I was so excited I could have hugged him through the phone! So for those of you still calling, don't give up!

Made the last payment for my trip yesterday! Woohoo! :woohoo: Now I just have to wait for Sept to get my Mickey Mail, then for Oct 16th when mom and I will be leaving for WDW.

What the heck am I supposed to do until then?:hyper:

Whats Mickey Mail??

Whats Mickey Mail??

Mickey Mail is the package you get in the mail with all your vouchers and luggage tags. It usually comes about 30 days before your trip. If you signed up for Magical Express you will also get a package for that.

Hey everyone, we just booked our sons 1st trip to Disney World. :cool1:

Oct 14-Oct20, 212

He will only be a 15 months old but my parents really wanted to go so we said yes. My parents haven;t been there since I was in a stroller and it was only Magic Kingdom. Epcot was just being built so I am equally excited for them to see the world as I am for my son.

btw...am I crazy to bring a 15 month old there? :confused3

Now to plan... :teacher:

He will enjoy and understand more than you'd expect! Things like It's a Small World, the Jungle Cruise, and the parades are fascinating to that age group!

I just finalized our trip to take my son to the Food & Wine Festival for his 21st birthday! Can't wait!!!! We are doing 6 nights at Bonnet Creek in a friend's timeshare and then 2 nights at AofA!!!!!!

Sounds so fun!

Hi! Add me into the October fun! We are going October 7th through the 14th. We'll be staying at OKW with some friends. We plan on doing Food & Wine and MNSSHP.

I just finished making our countdown chain yesterday and it is hanging on our wall. 97 DAYS UNTIL WE LEAVE!! We are going to my sister's house in VA the first night and then will catch the autotrain the next day (Oct. 6th). I'm very excited! :)

If anyone wants a copy of my countdown chain, just let me know your e-mail (you can PM me) and I'll send it to you. It's 13 pages that you can print (8 links per page).

Ooooh, this sounds fun! :goodvibes I have a countdown app on my phone but I think it would be more to have something out in the open. PMing you right now!

Do I get to join? I'm going September 28th to October 8th? I am traveling with my mom, DS (11 1/2yo) and DS (will be 9 months).

As you can see it's been a LOOOOOOooooong time since I traveled with a baby. During my first DS (at 18 months) first trip hubby was there to help lug all the baby stuff plus baby around, but I don't have this time.
My mom is disabled but can help a little since she is on a scooter. My 1st DS is a typical pre-teen boy LAZY but will do anything for his baby brother when asked, right now. I'm hoping he will be a HUGE help during the trip.

We are staying at the Pop with Free Dinig upgrade. We are going to the MNSSHP September 30th AND October 4th.

I've been trying to figure out what the little one can be for the parties. I always wanted him to be an EWOK (my favorite since I was a kid) but there is NO we could wear that in Disney without dying from the heat. I'm thinking maybe by a tink doll and have him go as Peter pan, my mom Wendy, myself as John and my son as Micheal for 1 of the parties.

I'd like to post more but the little wants to go back to sleep :thumbsup2

Free dining rumor during October:

This guy was VERY reliable last year. :goodvibes

Sigh. Doesn't work at all for our Oct 13-20 dates. I'm sad, as we're paying full price and have no discounts on anything, and airfare was expensive, too. That's what I get for going when my entire state has a long weekend!

Oh well, I'll just look at it as good that FD won't add many more people to the week we're there. :cool2:

I guess I should sign myself in! The fiance and I will be spending out honeymoon in Disney World from Oct 15 - 29th! We will be staying at Pop Century and can't wait!!

Newbie here! WDW virgin too! ;)

We will be there October 13 - 20th staying at the SSR! So excited we are coming at a good time with MNSSHP and the F&WF! :) It will be a 1/2 mini reunion with our family that lives in Georgia and Florida. We are so excited to be counting down the days, especially now that we are in the double digits!
