***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

Now that I'm back from my other vacation, I can focus all my energy on October and Disney.

I need to get costumes. And I need to work on our packing list. Anyone think of anything that should be on the packing list that they always seem to forget? (No kids here, so don't worry about any of those things.)

OMG, don't get me STARTED on costumes..... I have no idea what we're going to do, other than dress up. In something. Probably with a Halloween theme.... oh man, I'm so going to run out of time!

Rec'd a cute little booklet in the mail from Disney and I seriously look at it everyday!

I am not sure if DH and I are doing costumes. Back in 2010 we didn't but my parents wore matching pumpkin shirts. This year will be DH 30th while we are there so we should probably dress up and celebrate!

Thought I'd share the latest on Disney's Photopass+ service, rather the new discount:

Basically 30 dollars off w/ preorder, and they mail you the voucher. Looks like they're starting to get their act together with this one.

Also - I had previously pre-ordered the regular CD, but I called and they changed that to a 99 dollar credit (I ordered before the price increase) so I could upgrade to PP+ for 70 bucks. Not a bad deal, if you love ride and meal photos. If anyone is in the same situation, the number to call and do this is 407-560-4300.

My husband and I just booked our trip! Kind of a last minute decision, but with the SW flight sale, we couldn't resist! It will have been about 3 years since we were last there. I know it's not THAT long, but I've been itching to go again since we got back! We'll there from Oct. 24th - Nov. 1st, staying at Art of Animation! We're going to go to Universal for a couple days this time, so that will be something new to see. And of course MNSSHP and the Food & Wine festival! However, one of the things I'm most excited about... we're going to fly to LA after Disney World and spend 3 days at Disneyland! I've never been, so really excited for that! It's going to be a very Disney filled 2 week vacation. I'm doing a lot of happy dances lately!



I feel like my Disney planning skills are a little rusty, but I'm already making progress! Have all our dining reservations made.

Thanks Jen I was planning to upgrade to this when we got to WDW in August with DH's family... but now I'll phone and pre-order! I'm not sure about October trip... probably will though, it would nice to get all the on-ride photos as we rarely ever buy those too




This week I booked the Wild Africa Trek for October 13th so excited to try out this tour!! We have booked the 8am one... they are every 45 minutes after that.

Hey everyone, we just booked our sons 1st trip to Disney World.

Oct 14-Oct20, 212

He will only be a 15 months old but my parents really wanted to go so we said yes. My parents haven;t been there since I was in a stroller and it was only Magic Kingdom. Epcot was just being built so I am equally excited for them to see the world as I am for my son.

btw...am I crazy to bring a 15 month old there?

Boss finally approved my vacation time, so we are officially going to WDW in October!!! We might see what's available at AoA, or just go back to Pop.

you can definitely use the water parks. I think they are open til 5 everyday. We have been there 2 times in oct. once the first week and once the 3rd week. Both times were HOT! I would say close to 90 everyday.

FYI: Typhoon Lagoon closes for Refurb on Oct. 28th. We arrive on the 27th, so we're planning on going right there that day since every other time we've gone (Dec/Jan), it was also closed, so hubby hasn't been yet.

We head home a day earlier...on the 3rd. Staying at the Yacht Club.

Our flight in on the 3rd is early. I think we land in Orlando before 9:30am. Our bathing suits will be packed in our carry-ons, so if we can't check in when we arrive, we can at least change and head on over to TL...after we grab a bite to eat.

My fiance and I are firmly booked now October 7-12! We cannot wait! We will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary of our engagement where I asked the question at the Wishing Well! Not much longer, hopefully with all the planning to do over the next few months the time will go by fast! We will be returning to Pop Century, we tried our luck to book at the Art of Animation but it was fully booked for the Little Mermaid rooms. I think we will take a walk and take a tour of the new resort though.

I just finalized our trip to take my son to the Food & Wine Festival for his 21st birthday! Can't wait!!!! We are doing 6 nights at Bonnet Creek in a friend's timeshare and then 2 nights at AofA!!!!!!

Made the last payment for my trip yesterday! Woohoo! Now I just have to wait for Sept to get my Mickey Mail, then for Oct 16th when mom and I will be leaving for WDW.

What the heck am I supposed to do until then?
