***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

So excited for our trip but just went to book airfare and NOT happy with the prices :(. Jet Blue has really gone up a lot and has no non stop flights? :confused3 So looks like we will be going back to using Southwest which is also high now but at least has non stop flights. The other bummer is we will also have to drive to BWI instead of IAD if we don't want to pay a fortune. Which also means we have to pay for parking. (When we are able to fly out of IAD we park at DH's office and then get a ride to/from the airport.)

I just booked Southwest today because they're running a sale. It was $89 for us each way (both non-stop flights).

Jealous! It's about $320 EACH roundtrip for us. :(

Lucky! We just switched from United to Southwest today and paid about $280 each. Least bags are free!

DH wants to wait to book and hope for a better price. Hopefully prices at least stay the same if they don't go down.

We have booked our first trip ever to WDW from Oct 27-Nov 2 for our 10-year anniversary!!!! We are staying at the Poly and I just per-ordered photo pass + today! Now just crossing my fingers for free dining!:)

I have always wondered how to make summer break last longer. Now I know...you book a Disney trip for fall! This has already been the longest summer ever, haha!

Free dining will be released to the public this Thursday. :goodvibes Your dates are covered, so call early! The phone lines open at 7am EST. Good luck and congrats on your first trip and your upcoming anniversary!:goodvibes

Also, :welcome:

Well DH found round trip tix with Hotwire on Airtran for $186 per person so that is what we booked. Saved almost 50% compared to what we would have paid booking directly w/one of the airlines. :cool1:

When I started this thread, I never thought it would grow so much! 152 DISers on the list and counting :)

we're planning a tentative trip for oct. 7-13 (or 14). unfortunately, that nice free dining promotion isn't valid that week :sad2:  we haven't even booked a hotel yet (in fact, i haven't even discussed this trip with my fiance yet haha), but i want to stay in one of disney's resorts for sure. i've stayed off campus and hated the hassle of driving and paying for parking. we're thinking of one of the value resorts, maybe pop culture or all star movies. i hope the hotels haven't filled up yet. someone on this thread mentioned the dining promotion blackout dates are because the hotel is full. :scared:

DH and I booked a room at the Dolphin over Columbus Day weekend (4-9th) for $188/night with a AAA rate. Might be worth looking into. We bought a AAA membership and it paid for itself with the room discount.

I booked out 2nd ever trip to Disney (first was during tropical storm Debbie, and a bit disappointing) 10/26-10/29. We are flying Jet Blue from Washington DC (about 480 for both of us) and staying on rented points (this makes me so nervous!).

The plan is to eat at Sanaa on the 26th for dinner, spend Saturday and Sunday at Epcot and eat at Chef Mickey's on Sunday.

I call the last trip disaster trip...so I did everything differently. I am soooo looking forward to the food and wine festival. Me and my husband love that type of thing :)

Brand new here!!! Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone. My family will be making our 1st ever family vacation to Disney World Oct 27- Nov. 3rd. We are booked at the Art of Animation, Nemo rooms. And Monday I got our free dining. Next week will begin our double digit count down.
