*** October 2008 Photopass share *** CLOSED ***

We have an opening in Group 1. Post and/or send PM if you're interested.

We have an opening for Group 2 as well! This member will need to have a start date after 9/22 and an end date before 10/20 and I will explain below.

I will post on here as to how Group 2 is functioning since it may be a bit different than other groups. Again, this is for group 2. I don't know how group 1 is working.

1) Each member will have a 4 day window to upload and edit your photos. Your 4 day window will be 10/20-23. This is YOUR time, no one else will be uploading and editing during this time. This is so you don't have to worry about the account running slow if too many people are on it at once. I have read where users experienced slow system because too many people were on and trying to edit at the same time. You will also have 11/1-4 for any last minute edits. However, this time frame will be open for all 6 group members so you may experience a slow system. So, you will have a total of 8 days to work on your photos 10/20-23 AND 11/1-4. If you join, please refrain from editing during any other time as to give the other members their own dedicated time.

2) I am giving each member the option of USPS priority mail. Priority mail is about 2.50 more than media but since the USPS provides free shipping materials, the cost to upgrade will only be 1.60. Also, for paypal, I can accept credit/debit cards and checking account instant transfers (please no echecks). If paying via debit/credit cards there will be a fee since paypal charges me a fee. If paying by instant transfer via checking account, the fee won't be charged because I am accepting those payments via my DHs paypal account and his account doesn't charge a fee. I just can't accept credit/debit cards from his account. Now, for the costs. The cost of the CD shipped via media mail is $20.32 ($21.21 if paying with credit/debit card) and $21.92 if shipped via USPS priority mail ($22.84 if paying with credit/debit card).

If you are interested, please PM. I will then get back with you and let you know whether or not you are the first to PM. Once I PM you and confirm that to you, I will need some information that I will request via PM. If you don't respond within 2 days of the confirmation, I will have to open the spot back up. I have had 3 people drop out and I have waited several days to get confirmation that they no longer wanted in the group. We are now facing a deadline of me needing to order the CD so that is why I'm now needing prompt responses.

I'm a bit addicted to these boards so I will respond within an hour, unless it's nighttime of course.

Hi, I'm interested and our family will be there Oct. 4 - 12. I'm also PMing you!

Thanks,

Candee - I think your dates fit really well into group 2.

Carmen - can you and Candee work out the details?

Hi, a friend just told me about this photopass share group. I'll be in WDW the week of 9/22-9/28 and would like to get in on this group if it's not too late. Thanks!

Group 2 is now full.

nuzmom, please add candee0512 in the open spot. She has paid and we are ready to go!!!

Oh, we are now running into problems for our costumes. DD and DS were going to be Lilo and Stitch. I have the Stitch costume but couldn't find a Lilo costume. My neighbor agreed to help me with, but it is more difficult than we thought. I can't sew at all and as she said "I am not a professional". I think this may be a sign that we should try something else. Plus, I'm worried that DS will get really hot in his Stitch costume. Cute thing was DH was going to be Elvis to go along with the theme. We are now thinking pirates because pirate costumes can be found for everyone. But, because of that and the POTC movies, so many people will be pirates. My other idea was for DH, DMIL and myself to dress like doctors/nurses (DH is a doc so has access to scrubs) and the kids could be patients in patient gowns. That would definitely be the cheapest way to go, but not as cute. Oh, decisions, decisions, decisions.

I added candee0512 in group 2 and it is now full again and closed.

But, we still have an opening in group 1. Dates of mid to late October fit best with the group, but if you're willing to wait to enter your pictures (Oct 20) and are ok with the last edit date (Nov 11) then earlier travel dates would be ok. Also, payment of $20.77 would be needed within 2 days so that we can finalize the group.

Post or PM me if you're interested.

Thanks nuzmom!

Well, I think we decided to all be doctors. That's the cheapest route to go. We went to the party store tonight and to deck us all out as pirates would be $120, and that is if we just did the cheap costumes. I'm sure we'd want the better ones plus the accessories, so we knew we were looking at around $200. I just don't want to do that when we're dropping $200 on tickets to the party. We will be buying scrubs for the kids, but we won't have to for the adults. I guess the good thing about doctors will be there won't be very many, at least I wouldn't think so.

For those that are going, what's everyone going to be???

Hi, nuzmom. I am interested. This would be my third Photopass share this year so I have references if needed. :) Do you still have a spot? My dates are 10/10-10/19.

Your dates fit nicely into group 1. I'll send you a PM with some details. Welcome!!!!!!

Carmie3377 - I think being doctors is a great idea. Cheap, simple, and easy to move around in. When we go to MVMCP, we like to ride the rides and see the shows. Having a big bulky costume would make that difficult.

I'm still leaning towards just wearing matching Halloween/Fall t-shirts. One issue for us is suitcase space. We're going to a family wedding in Atlanta prior to WDW and we'll be dragging our suitcases around. We all have pirate costumes (yeah, I bet that will be a very popular costume) from when we went on a WDW cruise. We COULD easily reuse them, but they include layers of belts and vests and I don't think I want to "deal with it". But, if my kids REALLY want to dress up, I guess we'll find something that works for all of us.

I do sew (casually) and we were a family of m and m's before. Cute and VERY easy costumes, but something to deal with as we walk around. Have you seen that costume? It's a circle front and back, hangs on your shoulders. The circles are m and m colors (different color per person) and fabric paint a "m" in the middle of the front circle. Again, very easy, but "big". I would squash for rides - I use batting between material, so it's soft, but stiff enough. Packing them could be an issue!!!!

We leaving in less than 5 weeks :scared1:

I was a bag of M&Ms before! We had to dress up at work once when I was in high school. A friend's mom made me a bag of M&Ms. It was cute and looked like the real thing. It was simple, basically looked like a giant pillowcase with all the M&M wording sewn on. Anyway, several years later when preggo with DD, I wore it again. It wasn't until after DDs first Halloween that I thought how cute it would have been for her to be an M&M and I could have worn the "bag" for a third time. Now, I have no idea where the costume is.

That would be so cute - parents be bags of m&m's and kids be single m&m's. Especially if mom was pregnant or if you have lots of children :) My mom will be with us on vacation, so we'll be a family of DM(79), DH, DS12, and DS7.

I better talk with my family and see what everyone wants to do. I don't want anyone "surprising" me with a week before we leave - "hey, let's dress up as XXX".

What does everyone think the weather will be like???? We've gone in many times in Sept (warm/hot - shorts, t-shirts, even at night) and December (sometimes hot, one time literally freezing - usually can wear light weight jeans). What's October like? I'm thinking still warm, but not "bring the misting fan" hot.

I'm thinking it will be very warm to hot. I live in So. Texas, so I'm used to it. Not that I like it, but at least used to it. Anyway, we went in Dec one time, absolutely beautiful weather. Jeans and tshirts during the day with a light jacket at night. Went this past Jan. OMG, can you say COLD! The first couple of days didn't get out of the 30s with wind gusts. The wind chill was barely over 30, and 20s some of the time. We were all bundled up and still cold and miserable. It was so crowded (bottled neck in places), cold and I actually left MK in tears frustrated and tired. DH wasn't with us and I called him and told him that I had had a miserable day at MK. Never thought that was possible at WDW!!! Towards the end of that trip, weather was nice, almost hot. Strange how weather can be so different within 6 days!

bizeemom4 - I sent you a PM. Are you still interested???

Can I still get in on the Photopass share? I'll be there 10/3-10/7. I don't know how it works though.

I just looked at the weather channel highs/lows for Orlando for our vacation. Highs average 86 to 83 and lows average 66 to 63. I'll keep checking as the time approaches because it can fluctuate so much, but that sounds great. Personally, I prefer light jeans and t-shirt weather and since in PA we're getting in the "fall" mode, it's hard to think about NOT putting away those shorts.

Boy, times going fast!!!!!
