*** October 2008 Photopass share *** CLOSED ***

My wife and I will be at WDW from Oct 11 through Oct 17. We would love to join a group. I was a group leader last year and doing a photopass share was simply awsome. Just let me know if i get into group 2 or if we need to start a new group and i will be the leader, whichever is fine with me.:cool1:

Is there room for one more group for late October?

DD and I will be at POR from 10/30 - 11/03. I'm new one these boards, so please excuse any mistakes....

Thank you!

Do you have any spots left in your group? Our trip is planned for Sept 26-Oct 3. I really interested.

Sorry, we are currently full.

WestTNvol - you're welcome to use this thread to start a new one. :) Looks like you would already have 2 others wanting to join your group. You can even post a link to your thread on this one.

I have found that I just don't want to spend the extra time keeping track of more groups.

hkilbu1 and PghBurgher - maybe you can PM and get into a group with WestTNvol. (PghBurgher - Love your name!!! Go Steelers!!)

Groups 1 and 2 - sorry it took me a couple of days to update the thread. I had a pet issue come up (possible surgery for our dog, but thankfully wasn't needed at this time)
Carmen - Thanks so much for posting that we're full!!!

For those interested - we're going to MNSSHP on October 21st. This will be our first time. We've attended MVMCP a couple of times and have enjoyed it, but aren't quite as "into" Halloween. But, hey, we're in WDW, so why not go to MNSSHP!!! I think my family is just going to wear orange t-shirts with black jack o' lantern faces. I'm really hoping to have Disney pumpkin carving patterns and I'll use those for the shirt "carvings".

We enjoy dressing alike while at WDW. Carmen, we've done the disneyshopping.com and disney store shirts, too. And, yeah, the sizes are strange. It's a shame when they grow out of them though. My older DS hands his down, but then he's left without. We've gotten to the point that we now mostly do matching color and/or characters. That works pretty well. I've also made several matching shirt sets (that they've outgrown!!!!) - that's a LOT of fun. Nice comments from castmembers and other guests. One of my favorites was when we went in Sept. We had Mickey writing on a chalkboard. The chalkboard had "back to school" on it and Mickey was crossing off school and putting Walt Disney World. I also take advantage of having a washer and dryer in the room and do laundry while we're there. That way, we wear each matching shirt at least twice.

Well, as I said, I'm finalizing my sister's vacation. I take them to the airport next Tuesday. THAT WILL BE HARD!!!!! Although, maybe I'll check the high temps each day and that will make me feel better. :rotfl:

kkwis2 - I marked you as paid on our first post. Thanks!!!

I took my sister and family to the airport this morning for their WDW trip. It was hard - especially since we have annual passes!!!!! Just keep reminding myself that Oct will be much better weather, better crowds, and the Food & Wine festival. :thumbsup2 Our trip is 2 months from today!!!!

I bet you just wanted to hop on that plane and just go down there with only your AP and buy some clothes when you got down there, lol

We have 2 months 1 week and 5 days till we fly down to Orlando on a friday but we dont check into Disney till Sunday and we stay till Friday morning. This will be our first Holloween Party on the 28, we did Pirate and Princess in May, and this will be my 2nd Food and Wine Festival and my GF first one, we are both just counting down the days because we cant wait!!!!

Yeah, you bet. My 2 boys were with me and my sister said to my DS7, "we should just pack you in a suitcase and take you with us." He said "ok, sure, that's fine with me". :) I've always wanted to try and swing a short surprise trip. Plane tickets are usually what makes me change my mind. Well, maybe some day.

We usually do count down cards. I make small 1/2 size index cards with days to go and a disney character picture. I didn't do them last trip, but I'm thinking I need to have them for this one. That helps make the time go faster. Well, now I need to find the time to do that. :)

Hope everything is going good with your dog. We recently lost our dachshund of 10 years so I know how hard it is to have a sick/injured dog. They are such a big part of our lives.

What a cute idea! I may have to do something like that for DD.

whogirl'smom, received your payment - THANK YOU! nuzmom, please mark her as paid. THANKS!!

Counting it down. Just over 5 weeks for us :cool1:

Got it - marked as paid.

Wow - 5 weeks!!!! I have just a little more, but that sounds so soon. I have things to do!!!!

I had good news yesterday, our car rental rate dropped by $100 - I'm VERY excited about that.

Thanks! I know, I feel like we have so much to do too. Now, I'm considering adding in a couple more dining ressies as DD wants to go to CM. Don't know if that will be possible this late in the game. Also, I think I'm going to hit the Disney Store tomorrow to see if I can find some matching shirts. I've been buying some non-perishable food items too so I've got a little stash going for that. Oh, so much to do. I was thinking yesterday how in a couple of weeks, I can start really getting things in order. I'm so excited :cool1:

Isn't it nice when you get a break like you did for your car rental? We are flying SWA and we've had a couple price drops since we bought. With 4 tickets, the costs reductions have totaled over $200! Bad news is that it must be used on SWA travel within 12 months of ticket purchase - don't know if we'll need it by then. But, there's always ebay. We had some ticketless travel funds from our Jan. trip that were about to expire and I sold them for about 80% of what I paid. But, it's better than loosing out on all of it. That's the beauty of SWA, they let you reschedule as many times as you want as long as it's within 12 months of the day the original tickets were bought. Plus, no fees. We get to take 2 checked bags each - that's 8 total! Our family of four is flying round trip, non-stop for just over $800.00. That's really a great price!

Sorry to go OT so long!

I got good news to!!! Our rate for Pop Century went from $89 a nite(AAA Rate) to $74 a nite(Florida resident annual pass rate) to $54 a nite!!!!!! Florida resident rate, wooohoooo. Still working on the car, so far i have a rate if $214 from Alamo for 9 days.

So who will be going to the Not So Scary Halloween Party while on there vacation in Oct? My girlfriend and I will be there for the 10/28 party, will you be going in costume? Hope it will be as much fun as the Pirate and Princess party we went to in May.

We're going Sept. 30. DD will be Lilo, DS will be Stitch, DH will be Elvis (if we can find a costume) and MIL and I are going to be Hawaiian tourist (just decked out in Hawaiian shirts and leis). DH was going to be a tourist too until DD mentioned today how neat it would be if Daddy was Elvis. I think it will be a cute addition since Lilo loved Elvis so much and Stitch even dressed as Elvis.

I think the party will be a blast. I wish we could attend it twice, but I really don't want to shell out another $200!

That's a good price. I like SWA, we're flying back with them. The price dropped once (so far:love: ) and I have about $90 in ticketless travel funds. I've lost them in the past because we didn't get another trip in, but I'm seriously considering ebay this time. I'd prefer to have a family member or friend purchase them, or my husband's work. Time will tell.

That's awesome you got a florida resident rate. We've gotten good deals in the past with annual passholder, but out-of-state. We're blessed to be DVC now, so not so much of an issue.

We're booked with National (Airtran code plus a coupon) and we have a full size for 14 days for $332.49. That's the least we've ever paid. This year we're executive status, which is new for us, and I'm looking forward to trying to snatch up an even better car. An SUV would be nice. We had that the last trip and got spoiled. We're a family of 4, plus my DM, and my DSs are growing taller ever day, so a bigger car would be nice.

Keep watching at those rates - maybe you'll catch a dip in price!!!

I edited the first post to reflect that jrandtysmom paid. Thank you.

I can't believe how time is flying by!!! I'm excited, but still nervous that we're "not ready". My kids like to trade pins and we need to check and see what they're willing to trade and then purchase some extras. My MNSSHP shirts haven't been started either. Of course, this is all "want to do's", we're going whether they're done or not!!! :thumbsup2

I am relieved that we now have our hotel for Atlanta (wedding location and airport), DS7 tux size submitted, and rental car. That's all checked off the to-do list. :yay:

I know what you mean - I had kinda let the planning go this summer as we were busy with other stuff and then this weekend I started thinking about it again and started feeling like I still had alot of stuff to get done/ready - and we don't even leave till the end of October!!! I'm looking at our whole plan again and making sure I still like it - making any changes to ADR's since I read the restaurants board again and now want to try different places. Ughhh I should probably stop doing that.

Have a great trip Nuzmom!

Ah, yes, the restaurant board. Interesting place.

Fortunately, we've been to WDW enough times now that we have our favorites and "never again" restaurants. Choosing restaurants definitely depends on each family's tastes (pun intended :rotfl: ). One tool I liked using is the menu's listed on allears. You can see the selections of foods and price. IMHO, really comes in handy. Here's a link if you haven't looked at them before... http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

Part of my "stress" comes from liking to be VERY organized. I enjoy having an index card for each day. It has parade times, ADRs, and notes on it. I even go as far as listing how many times we have a chance to see each parade (a "2 of 3" type thing). Yeah, maybe a bit over the top, but it's helpful to us and since I reuse past files for the starting place for each new trip, it really doesn't take me too long to pull together.

Well, my mind is now in WDW mode :) Got to get refocused on today's tasks!!!!!
