Has anyone been to the Port at Medeira, Portugal recently?

My ship will stop here in November. I read there is a steep 15 - 20 minute walk into "town". Not a huge issue but it also says "uneven surface" which IS a problem for me. Cobblestones are charming to look at but tough for me to walk on. Is there anything right at the port?

I only want to get off at one of the three port stops so maybe I will do Vigo instead as I have been there before.

Thanks!

It's like many European cities. Some cobblestones that are often loose or broken or even missing. Put in years ago when the only practical solution but then not maintained due to cost.

There is a cable car that will take you way up into the hills above the town. From there, you can walk to where the Monte Sledges are. The road is cobbled though. Google streetview shows the route so you can see for yourself if doable for you.

Where the sledges end, you can get a taxi back to the ship.

Vigo has the same problem. Cobbles all over of varying states of repair and hills but moving walkways up through the centre.
