*** October 2008 Photopass share *** CLOSED ***

Can I still get in on the Photopass share? I'll be there 10/3-10/7. I don't know how it works though.

bizeemom4 is supposed to fill the last spot, but if I don't hear something in a day or so, I'll let you know.

You can read more about how a photopass share works on the first post of this thread. There's also some other threads out there for October. Don't know if they're all filled or not.

I get it now. I guess I didn't read all the way through it the first time.

Ooops. Yes, I am interested but should not paypal at the office. I will pay tonight. I apologize. I made a mental note yesterday that I had to pay and forgot.

Hi, Nuzmom. Check your paypal. I just sent you the funds. :flower3:

bizeemom4 - thanks for the paypal - I got it. Also, got your PM with you email address. Short on time right this moment, will send more details via email soon. I'll mark you as paid on our first post.

Tricia819 - sorry, we are full.

We leave in 11 days!!! However, I'm evacuated to my MIL because we have NO POWER thanks to IKe. We were lucky, sustained very little damage, just a couple of small trees uprooted and our fence is leaning. However, we might not have power for a week or longer . They're saying up to 4 weeks! There are power poles in the street that runs next to our subdivsion. Plus, there are 1.56 million homes w/o power. So, who knows how long. While I should be at home getting things ready, I'm 250 miles from home. DH is at home because he has to work. He gets off a few days before leaving for Diseny so if we still don't have power, he's flying here then we'll drive home the day before our flight leaves to get everything ready. We considered flying out of Dallas instead of Hobby Houston but SW doesn't fly direct to MCO from Dallas. I'd rather drive to Houston then to have a layover. I told him I would drive home once he's off but he said no reason to since it could be so hot. The couple of days before we came here (we rode out the storm) it was 90+ with high humidity and not a breeze once Ike was gone. Of course, we came here, a small cold front came through down there and it's "only" been in the 80s. What a mess.

HOWEVER... I still have a home and we're all alive! Many people lost homes and some lost their lives. I feel very thankful to have dodged yet another bullet. We lived just north of NO during Katrina and we were one of about 10% of homes that didn't sustain water or tree damage. We had a bit a water come in, but it was on tile. MIL told me our luck is probably running out!

This is bringing people closer together. We have lived in our subidivision for about 15 months and we have met people we didn't know. Also, per DH, people are pooling their food and having little "block parites" . People are helping each other out and becoming friends with people they didn't know. So, something good can come out of it. Also, while visting with one of our neighbors, DH found out that they are leaving for Disney the same day we are and staying in AKL and we are staying in AKV. How cool is that!

This vacation will be much needed. DH will have not had a day off in almost a month before he's off before vacation. He's has been working 80 hour weeks for the past 5 months. Plus, he's in Houston, we're in Dallas now. So, needless to say, we need this time together.

Oh my, Carmen :scared1:
So glad to hear that you only have minimal damage and are able to stay with your MIL. You have a great attitude. :thumbsup2 That's so cool that you found out your neighbor is going to WDW the same time/place as you!!!

We felt some effects of Ike all the way up here in PA. We're just not used to wind like that!!!! One neighbor has a tree down that just missed their cars and another has one that came down on their roof. We just have a bunch of branches to pick up/cut down. We have a small lake in the middle of woods, I'm sure there will be some clean up work down there, too, but that's to be expected. Many families are without electricity up here, but we're not.

Wow - 11 days to go. We're down to about 3 weeks and it's still flying by. I do feel better - we won some pins off of ebay and I got some t-shirts on sale at Michael's and have some designs in mind. We also settled in on our MNSSHP "costume" - we bought our whole family nice Steeler jerseys - we'll wear those and be "Steeler fans".

Carmen - take care. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy your vacation time together!!!!

Wow, I didn't realize that Ike affected so many people up north! We came here on Sunday and MIL just moved and hasn't had cable installed yet. My internet efforts, up until these posts, have be used to get school info and power restoration updates. I feel like I've been shut off from the outside world!

We bought some pins from ebay too. I'm a bit disappointed as they are smaller than I thought they would be. They are not the cuties but still small. I guess that since they are official I can trade them. As fas as t-shirts, I've given up! I was planning on making autographs this past weekend, but needless to say, that didn't get done. I brought my cricut with me so hopefully I can get them done here. It's just I'm chasing my 2 YO around a non-baby proof house so I don't know how much I can get done. Anyway, I made autograph books last year ( http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=1315551 ) so I would really like to do it again. DH says to buy them but I like them to be personalized. At least I only have 2 to make this year.

I love the Steelers idea! We all have Dallas Mavs jerseys, so that's an idea for us! At least you'll get some extra use out of those costumes!

Take care! Have fun making those shirts. Post a pic if you can when your done.

For what it's worth - you have a lot going on right now!!!! We made our own autograph books for several trips and I thought we "HAD" to have them. Afterall, the kids were used to having them and you get such great comments from cast members and talking characters. Anyway, I ran short on time and didn't do them on our last trip. Know what? It wasn't a big deal at all. We bought them each a book in the park, with pens (whoo hoo) and they were happy to have them.

Sometimes I think I drive myself nuts with making shirts, books, etc. Yes, they enjoy them, but it's WDW - it's great no matter what!!!!

We just LOVE pin trading!!!! I'm sure your pins are fine, too bad they're small, but they're just to trade. I don't like the small pins either and I can't stand the propins (does anyone?)!!! Did you know that you can trade pins at guest services at each park? Since you're a DISer, I'm probably telling you something you already know, but... Guest Services has a BOOK of pins that you can trade from. Each person can trade 2 pins. Just go into guest services and ask to see their pin book. Sometimes you find hidden mickey pins, but we love having such a large selection to choose from. Oh, I'm so excited that we'll be pin trading SOON!!!!

Im just hoping that by the time I get down there on Oct 26 the weather is a little better, was in Orlando last week for a couple of days and went to DHS and it was hot and humid the day we went. Then at around 5 pm we decided to go to Magic Kingdom as we got on the monorail it started to rain and it continued for 2 hours or so, but it wasnt to bad because the lines were real short.
My girlfriend loves pin trading, I got her a lot of like 25 pins from mousepinsonline(2nd time using them and no problems) and she managed to trade about 18 of them in the 5 or 6 hours we where at DHS. I ocasionally spot one I like and ask her to trade for it and most of the time she says yes, lol.

WOO HOO :cool1: , we got power last night after 9 days without! DH called me at 5:15 PM to tell me and by 6:00 I was on the road home. We got home around 11:00 (North of Dallas to South of Houston) so now I have 5 whole days to get everything ready for our trip. I have to unpack from this trip, do laundry and get everything packed to leave for the airport at 4:30 on Saturday morning. I know, a week sounds like a lot of time to do that but in the meantime, I have to go to the grocery store since we now have an empty fridge and freezer, pay bills since some are due during our week gone, get DD ready to go back to school and oh so much more. I want to make autograph books and still have to find our Halloween costumes. I have to travel to a mall an hour away to pick up pictures of DS that were supposed to be picked up this last weekend. The photographer is only there temporarily and this is his last weekend there. Well, I better get off of here and get busy!!!!

Wow Carmen, I didn't know you were going thru all this. I hadn't checked this thread in a while. Glad to know things are getting back to normal for you!

Thank you!

I've been working diligently on autograph books and finally finished. Here are some pics:
My little guy loves "choo-choos" so of course I had to incorporate a train into his book. Since we are going in the fall, I wanted to add some pumpkins too! All is made with my Cricut except the Mickey. I tried cutting a Mickey but his facial features were so small, some of them were tearing. We found a cute cut out that was the perfect size. For some reason, I had to trouble on the Pluto.

This one is for DD. We thought the witch hat would be cute since we are going to MNSSHP. On the back, the zeros are actually honey pots but both DD and DH said they looked like baby bottles instead. Actually DH said they almost look like the natural form of a baby bottle! All of this one is made with the Cricut
