October 2004 anyone?

We're going to WDW at the end of October, and I'm so excited! MNSSHP and the Food and Wine Festival - there couldn't be a better time!

I'm not too worried about the crowds, though - the only other time we've been to WDW was this past year - the week between Christmas and New Years! So if it was so wonderful then (and it was, oh yes!), a few less people should make it even better!

We were at Epcot, on the stone patio at Rose and Crown, for New Years Eve - we were at Epcot that day from 7am to 2am - crowds! noise! heat! and a great, wonderful, splendid time!! I can hardly wait to see what kind of magic this trip will bring . . .

Can anyone tell me more about the Florida schools being out third week of October? Are they out the entire week?
I don't know about Florida schools, but my son's school in Tennessee has Fall Break scheduled for the week of Columbus Day. We will be there Oct 9-16, and I already know of 2 or 3 other families that have planned their annual pilgrimage to the Mouse House during that same week!

Last year was our first Oct experience. MK was very thick with people on Columbus Day. Everything (except Tiki Room) was a 30+ (sometimes 30+++) minute wait. We will schedule something else on Monday this trip.

Anyway, a "bad" day at Disney is better than a good day most anywhere else!

Oct.2-9th offsite.

We'll be in the parks Oct.3-8th. I hope it's not too busy, I thought I'd picked a good time of the year! I had no idea about Columbus Day, but here in Canada the Monday 11th is Thanksgiving Day, I'm not sure if that plays into the crowds or not.

We're going the 1st-9th and from what I've been reading I think it's going to be crowded. Most of the Epcot resorts are sold out already.

I'll be there October 3 - 10. I will be @ All Star Movies Oct. 2 - 4 and the Beach Club Oct 5 - 10.

This will be my first trip in October since Epcot Center opened in 1982. For the last 20 years, I have been going to early December. The last two Decembers, the weather has not been to great so decided to change to October.

Hope I made the right decision!

Our trip is planned for Oct 5 - 12. Will there be that much of a difference in crowds from the last week of September to the 1st week of October? I though it would be a great time since DS would miss one less day at school due to Canadian thanksgiving. With all my planning, you'd think I would have also thought of Columbus Day in the US being the same day! . My last trip was in September and I guess you get kinda spoiled being able to walk right on rides. But hoping it won't be too too bad 1st week of October.

we are going to be there oct17th to 29th am a little worried about the crowds, cos of the golf thing, has anyone been there during this does it increase the volume at the parks or are they all too busy watching golf?????????/

We firmed up our plans; we will be there October 21-25th, Port Orleans French Quarter, and we're doing MNSSHP on the 24th! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Me,me,me!! We are going from Oct. 5-11. I finally convinced my brother to take my niece, who will be 13 and was only 2 the last time they visited :sad2: I already told him that I can't believe we are related!:rotfl: Oh, yeah we are staying at POR.

I can't wait!!:jumping1:

We will be at AKL from 10/17-10/20 and then "home" to BWV from 10/20-10/29!!! We are hoping the crowds are not too bad but will have a magical trip regardless. :crowded:

This will be our first MNSSHP and Food & Wine festival!!! We can't wait!!!!!
:jumping1:

We'll be at SOG from 10/4 to 10/9. We're planning to spend a lot of time at Epcot Food & Wine Festival. We had a wonderful time at the festival last year and are hoping for the same this year!

...will be at WDW from 10/8-10/16!! First trip with the kids!! We'll be at WL. Can't wait!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc

Taking this one a step further....

I see lots of posts of folks going to MNSSHP on the 14th. Anybody else going on the 12th or is my crowd having it all to ourselves? LOL :rolleyes1

We'll be there the 12th. Me, dh, our 3 ds, dm, df, my sister and her 2 dd and 1 ds. (That makes 11). Can't agree on costumes. We would atleast like to wear similar t-shirts.
So no - you will not have it all to yourselves!!!! :wave2:

DH and I will be there October 23rd until October 29th.
We're going to MNSSHP October 24th.
This will be a first. We've never been there for MNSSHP or Food and Wine. DH is attending a convention and I am the grateful tag along!!!! You all have me so excited - I love the disboard
::yes:: :wave2:

Our family will be staying @ BCV 10/24 thru 10/31. It's our first visit using our DVC membership so we're very excited!!!

Here is a link to the calendar for Orange County FL Public Schools. Click "School Calendars" then "2004-2005 School Year" links on the left. They appear to be off 10/14 & 10/15. Since Columbus Day is 10/11, I'm guessing many families will take the opportunity of the short work / school week to go then.

We are arriving 10/16. Just hoping the following week will be lighter. :earsgirl:
