October 2004 anyone?

We're going 9/28- 10/7 Hoping to get out of there before the Columbus Day crowds start. Never been during this time of year, anyone have any opinions?

Arrive October 12, leave October 16, but will only do Disney stuff from 13th - 15th. I am hoping that Oct 13 & 14 won't be too bad - Columbus Day will be over and the Florida school holiday isn't til the 15th. But we're still planning for moderate attendance.

We'll be there from the 13th until the 25th!!! Plan on 3 MNSSHP's!! We went last year and had a blast. The lines weren't that bad considering the 7 for 4 promotion. We love the food festival and the Halloween party of course. The fireworks for the Halloween party were awesome! So was the parade. Be sure and check out the haunted hayride at Fort Wilderness. It was great!
Great weather and crowds! What could be better!

Yikes I thought Oct 9-15th would be slow. Guess I planned wrong. The airfare and hotel room I got were cheaper than other times of the month. Didnt even think about Columbus day. Oh well I dont think it will be too bad at least I hope not.

As you can see from my signature, my family prefers October. Will be there October 3rd - 9th and can't wait. MNSSHP here we come.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Cannonballer, we'll be there Oct. 7-11 for a 3-days-at- parks trip (leaving out on Columbus Day itself) and though I knew it could be crowded it wasn't until now that I've gotten a bit nervous about it!

However, good plans and strategy go a long way. That's what I'm telling myself! Have you gathered together any consoling thoughts to share?

I don't think anyone should be nervous about an October trip. You can still go on a "moderately crowded" day and if you have a plan and utilize fastpass, you can have a very pleasant time with little line-waiting. Its nothing like Easter! Or Christmas! Or Summer!

We will be there October 13-20, I can't wait!!!!! And we are staying at POFQ. I hope to see some of you there!

I'll be there Oct. 22-28 at the BCV! Without my kids and without my husband! ::yes::

We'll (my DH and I) be there Oct. 23-Oct. 30 at POFQ....for the Food and Wine festival and hopefully Universal's horror nights!!

Could have sworn I had already posted this but don't see it here. I will be there Oct. 21 -28 and at any Halloween parties during those dates with Captain Jack Sparrow, and my Johnny Depp and Orlando BLoom Look a like sons. and hopefully at least one night with my Indiana Jones husband. should make for an interesting trip.

Hey forgetyourtroubles,
You've helped me forget my troubles! (re: Oct. crowds, pointing out that the crowds are better than other holidays and summer). Because I rescheduled a summer trip for this October one!

Maybe I can learn to be more like Pollyanna...

We went mid-October one year (close to Columbus Day), and it was pleasant - until noon. The crowds at the MK were so bad that the wait was over an hour on most rides. It was nearly impossible to get a spot to watch the parade an hour in advance. I swore never to go at that time again. What am I doing now? Trying to decide whether to go in mid-Oct or mid-Nov. I never learn.

Blizzard Beach was nice. It got a little cool close to closing, but the crowds were tolerable.

We'll be there as well. I think October is a great time to go. We'll be there from Oct. 3 - 15 (except for the 8th/9th when we go down to Ft. Lauderdale).

My girls have birthdays on the 7th and 15th, so we'll probably go often at this time of year.

I will be there at the ALLStarSports the 23-30th.. Oh Yea!!

8 of us!! Yikes..

We will be there at SOG from Oct 3 - Oct 7. I am so excited!! Hope to see some of you there!!
