Saturday 4th October
Well up early today to finish off all of the last minute things. By babies had to go off to the cattery, I cant believe I was leaving them for 3 weeks!!!!! I have left them for two before and coped with that. We round them up ..figure cowboys rounding up cows they run and hide, under the bed, behind the chair just when you have got them they squirm out of your arms. Finally we have them all in there travelling box and ready to go
We settle them in at the cattery, they are not happy .I try to make peace with them by telling them I will bring back those Mickey ears for them, Dh said I wasnt winning.
Back home we pack the bags in the car and set off to Gatwick. A pretty uneventful trip which was good and we arrive at the Hilton at about 4pm ish. After check-in and putting our bags in our room we drove off to the Summer Special Parking and delivered our car. We were staying four days over the 15 days allowed so we knew we had to pay extra, but they had messed up and only charged us £6.00 extra we didnt complain. We got the bus back to Gatwick and then trundled along for Twilight Check-in. We had never done this before so a new experience for us. Luckily we were offered the exit row seats yippee
I think they feel sorry for DH and his long legs.
After this easy process we head for a drinky at Weatherspoons or two and then some dinner. We headed back to the room for an early night.
Sunday 5th October
After a good nights sleep we checked out and headed on our short walk to the airport. We had breakfast at McDonalds and then set out on some Perfume Shopping I did well - only three bottles. I think Dh felt left out as he had three bottles of Aftershave too LOL.
Our plane was Virgins English Rose. Dh was extremely happy with the exit row sets. The flight was uneventful and the food was surprisingly good. We landed on time in MCO picked up our luggage, said goodbye to our luggage and said hello to it again. We had arranged airport transfer with FL Tours, I couldnt see them anywhere so we waited, after about twenty minutes we called them and they said that the driver should be there by now and with that there she was. We has a shopping stop at Publix and did will lots of bottles of Water and of course Beer. After this we were heading home
I just love pulling up to the Boardwalk I love the entrance of this resort, we reminded our driver that our Pick- up was going to be at OKW and not boardwalk as I had put in our original reservation.
At check in we got our Welcome Home and room 4029, at this stage we get excited not knowing where are room is going to be. We new we had a Boardwalk View but didnt know which end. Off we went to our room and we were literally running down the corridor and flung the door open, ran to the balcony and WOW .our room was above Big River Grill 4th Floor opposite the games. We could see Spaceship Earth whilst lying on the bed how cool is that! We loved our room.
The Bell man arrived with our luggage and shopping .he though we were having a party with all the bud we had brought ..LOL
Our first night dinner or course is always at Beaches and Cream and the Beach Club, just across the way. We walked around the lake across to the Beach Club, taking a good look at the pool. The slide at the Boardwalk is under rehab for October so we are allowed on this one occasion to pool hop to Storm-a-long Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club. Everyone raves about this pool and now we would get to find out what it is like yippee. We stopped by the podium at Beaches and Cream and were told there would be a twenty minute wait no problem more time to explore. Off we went with our bleeper and guess what I found the gift shop LOL.
Off went the buzzer, so back we went to Beaches and Cream we sat at the counter which we havent done before unfortunately I am too nosy and this gives me the opportunity to see what is going on. Burgers and Shakes for us both yum .the onion rings here are gorgeous. No dessert this time but we will be back another time. We continued our walk around the lake passing by the Yacht Club having a peak at Ariels and the Wedding Gazeebo thinking of Fantasia Sam
Whilst walking around the lake you have to dodge the Surrey Bikes, the little hill from the Yacht club passed the Dolphin is so funny
everyone gets off there bikes and pushes.
Before going back to our room I stopped in the bakery to order a cake as it was Dh birthday the day we travelled and he has a cake every year. I was able to order one here to be ready in 24 hours. You had to collect it from the bakery the next day unfortunately they wouldnt deliver to the room. A quick stop in the shop and I brought a hand held Mickey game (as recommended by PaulandShirley at the May Dis meet) It is a quiz game and I thought it would be good when we are in queues, waiting for parades or transport it was only $15 I think. I also just had to pick up the Halloween Pooh and Eeyore Beanies .they might have sold out(they didnt).
Back in the room and we hear the fireworks from Illuminations so we go out on the balcony and watch them. We just love our room.
