Good morning. I had a great weekend at the campground. This is the last week of the audit!! I cannot wait. Of course they turned off the air conditioner in the building over the weekend again and it is so hot in here, an dof course I have to be running back and forth without air. Cheap GSA.

Wow Heidi. That's too bad about the AC. I remember last time they did it you about died. Today is suppose to be 98.

Barb, I just got back from Park Meadows. Did you know that the Disney Store closed there? The only one I know left is the one by us.

Ok so do I have to STRIKE???? I am tired of talking to myself!!

I am here Sandy!

Heidi: I would not be happy about that e-mail when I was the one doing all the work, Then to go into lock-down. I hope your week gets better!

Jasper has a cold. Poor little guy. He is feeling better though.:cat:

Saturday was good. I made the pie and potato salad. My dad was very happy with it all. I bought fresh sausages from the meat store and Jerry bought sweet corn just picked. It was all very yummy.

Sunday we spent the day at the corn festival. It was fun but exhausting.

Today was back to the usual running around and school.

Yummy Denine. Sure wish I had your dinner on Saturday. Fresh corn, potato salad and pie. Mmmmmmm. I am on a two day special diet so I am craving carbs right about now. Sure missed your posts. I was getting pretty lonesome.

Denine - sounds like you had a yummy dinner. I hope Jasper is 100% better today. What did you do at the corn festival?

Last night I went to get contacts. It feels so much better to see clear, but still a real pain in the butt to put in and take out!! I am sure I will get the hang of it soon.

Everyboday tells me that it takes about 2 weeks to really get use to putting them in and taking them out and not to give up or get frustrated. 2 weeks, just 2 weeks!!!! It took me 20 minutes to get them in, out and back in again at the place and then last night it took 20 minutes just to get them out. I tried this morning for 20 minutes to get them back in but it seemed impossible and I had to get to work so I gave up and will do it when I get home from work. Tomorrow I will wake up at 4:30 so I have longer time to try. My eyes are so red and dry, everyone keeps making the comment that I look either really tired or that I have been crying too much. My coworker said that I will probably get a lot of comments regarding me looking high because I guess people think that is funny or something. I keep telling myself I can do it!!!

Heidi: I wore contacts for a while, you will get the hang of it. I have dry eyes and astigmatism. So if I wore contacts, I couldn't read. Glasses are just easier for me.

At the corn festival, Kaleigh went on a bunch of rides and we ate corn on the cob and we checked out the booths. It is pretty small, but Kaleigh loves the rides.

Julie: Would you PLEASE bring me my mix & chop to Kaleigh's birthday party on September 22nd at 4:30 PM?

It is only 67 right now. Needless to say, we are not in the part of the country with record heat.

Sandy: How is your 2 day diet going? When I am old, I am going to eat whatever I want. You can have the same mantra too when you get old!

Jazzy seems to feel a little better every day. I just hope Hera doesn't catch his cold. I am tired of getting sneezed on by a cat! :scared:

Denine, the two day diet is actually pretty easy for me. The corn festival sounded fun. I wore contacts just for a little while. I, too, have bad astigmatism and dry eyes and with CO's dry air it was hard for me to keep putting eye drops in. Glasses are hard for me because of the reflections make me sick to my stomach. I am seriously thinking about mono vision lasik surgery. I hate it when animals get sick. I feel so bad for them.

I need advice. Noah's birthday is coming up on Aug 28th. Now that I don't babysit them anymore should I send a check in his card or just a card. If I send a check then I wonder when I would stop sending birthday gifts. Any idea?

Mom - tough one, not sure what you should do.......sorry I am no help!!!!

Has anyone tried Barillo Plus pasta?

I will post a recipe that I want to try, maybe this weekend with my mom:

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

1 cup water
2 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into pieces

1/4 cup sugar
3 cups of bread flour (King Auther has this organic artisan bread flour that rocks)
1/3 cup of dry buttermilk powder
1 tablespoon of gluten (I dont use it)
1 1/4 tsp of salt
2 Tablespoon of SAF yeast or 2 1/2 tspo bread machine yeast

For the cinnamon swirl
2 tablespoon of butter, melted for brushing
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon

1) Place all the ingredients in the pan according to machine instruction. I usually set on dough cycle and remove dough and roll out, brush with the melted butter and cinnamon and sugar mixture. I roll the dough like a jelly roll. Place in a bread pan. Let rise for 30 minutes . Place in oven and bake in oven for 35 to 40 minutes at 350.

I just noticed my countdown timer changed to counting down days now!! Yesterday it said one month, now it says 30 days!! WooHoo!!!

Here is a picture of my other cousin that will be one of the groomsmen. It is a weird picture, but my uncle and my cousin were playing with my mom's underwater digital camera so it is taken under the water!!!

Good morning Heidi. Love the pictures and the recipe. Yeppers, (as Nina would put it) let's try the bread recipe!!

Heidi: The bread looks good. DOn't know why you would need the gluten when you are using bread flour. Love the pictures.

Sandy: I am thinking to just send a card. Like you said, you wouldn't know when to stop sending presents.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for the week. We are making play dough tomorrow and then gingerbread cookies on Monday. We will be reading the gingrebread man on Monday.

Tomorrow is the last 80 degree day. It is supposed to be chilly this weekend. We are hoping to get the swing set stained this weekend.

Supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.

I can't think of what else I was going to post. Oh well.

Denine, have you ever made the peanut butter play dough? We have been hitting mid 90's all week and still have more to go. But....we are having scattered showers everyday. More expected today. The lightning that accompanies these storms are horrendous. I heard that FL and CO are the worst states for lighning deaths.

I made my decision today at the Hallmark store. I decided to buy Noah one of their musical cards making it a bit special and not a boring card. No presents or money.
