October 19th Cruisers again and again...

Sally, I briefly looked at Bob Greene's book. It does look good. Diets always call it now a lifestyle change but it doesn't seem to help me. I still feel sorry for myself and crave certain foods. Why do we always have to eat like rabbits to be healthy? I would love a pasta meal or a baked potato....you know??? What cruise line did you sail on to Hawaii? Did you like it? I am trying to do a lot of research before we have to put money down for the PC cruise. Alaska?? Hawaii?? PC??...east or west???

Denine, I thoroughly agree with you. It is time that you have a winter "off" and can enjoy what we have the last few years! Our honeymoon was just a trip to Colorado Springs. Nothing fancy but it was great. We toured the city and had a blast.

Good to know that Barb is alive and okay. :goodvibes I was getting worried about her but came across a thread that she posted on around 10:30 today. I guess she abandoned our Disney family?:confused3 :sad1:

Sandy, have you ever eaten wheat pasta? What I like about Bob Greene is that his picture is on a lot of food at the grocery that you can eat so it helps decide what to buy.

Heidi, I posted on the same thread and saw that Barb posted as well.

Sally, never, ever tried wheat pasta. For some reason it sounds nasty! But that is coming from someone who doesn't like bread "with any color to it".

I saw on last nights news that Roy Disney and his wife are getting a divorce after 51 years. How sad! Ted and I were alone with them in the elevator on the PC cruise and she teasingly called him a grump because he hadn't gotten much sleep. Hmmmm, now I wonder.

What are these people thinking that divorces after 50 years.....you should have know them by then and who wants to break someone else in.

I am not crazy about wheat but I am learning to like it.

I tried wheat pasta and I could not get over the after taste it has. Maybe the brand I bought was just bad and cheap.

I can do Brown rice fine. I found this cool brown organic rice at Walmart that already has low sodium seasoning and herbs added. All you do is boil it for 40-50 minutes.

I babysat my best friend's son last night. I got home at about 11:00 and finally fell asleep around midnight to wake up at 5:00...yuck, but I am actually functioning pretty well. My best friend's mom gave me more ideas about wedding sites so I can't wait to research them.

Hi guys! Sorry to be MIA lately. My back still hurts. I went to my dr. on monday and he wants me to go for a MRI on my neck and back. I have the sensation in my left hand and arm and my left foot and calf like they are asleep. He said after the MRI is done, he wants me to see a nerologist.
(sp). He also said I have several "knots" in my back and thinks one of my discs is pinching a nerve causing my tingling sensation. What happened was sunday night early monday morning Jan 8th Brooke had a bad dream and came up to our room and climbed into bed with us. I got so warm with her next to me I decided to take her back down stairs to her bed. So, I had her cradled in my arms instead of over my shoulder since she was asleep. I started down the steps and my left foot just slid right out from under me and off the step so I landed on my lower back hitting the edge of the step dead on and then slide down 5 more steps. Brooke didn't get hurt at all thank goodness. She woke up saying "you ok mom? you ok?". But since I couldn't use one of my hands to help break the fall since I didn't want to drop Brooke, all the force of the fall went to the back.

Garry's foot is still bothering him. He got a shot in it the day of the ice show. It has help somewhat, but hasn't done too much. It isn't the same thing that I had with my foot, but he will probably end up with surgery. He has been sooooooooooo busy with work that he hasn't had time to rest it either. He goes to Vegas for a school in March and in April he goes to Kanasas for another. They have him going all over!

Brooke has been doing soooooooo good with the potty. Ever since her birthday when I told her that now she is 3 that the potty fairy comes and takes all her "baby pants" and she now has to wear big girl panties except for her special "bedtime panties" that she knows she can only wear them at night.Which she does. I'm sooooo proud of her!

The Big Guy is still loving school. His teacher LOVES him and both first grade teachers are fighting over him for next year! His teacher told me that back in Nov. she asked the class to write thier numbers up to 20. She said that after awhile Garry raised his hand and asked for another piece of paper. She said I told him that one piece should be enough for the asignment and to bring her his paper. She looked at it and started to laugh. He wrote not only 0-20 but he went up to 139! :rotfl2: And didn't miss a number! He just loves school!

Makenzie is doing well in school and is still playing indoor soccer. As a matter of fact, this past monday night she scored her FIRST GOAL!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: She was sssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooo proud of herself and her coaches were as well. I was so happy for her I almost started to cry! I know I'm a sap! Oh by the way, ANYONE WANT GIRL SCOUT COOKIES??? same ones as last year but the non fat lemon coolers are gone and they replaced them with non fat brownies. Cookies will be here at the end of Feb.

Anna Marie got nominated for Buckeye Girls State (you can google it if you want to know more about it), but it's a real honor to be nominated and she has been accepted! The only bad thing is that it's during our summer vacation that we planned around her. Oh well.

Well, that's enough for us right now.

Hi to Jeanne, Sally, Denine, Sandy, Barb, Heidi and Stacey! Gonna go and try to catch up on the thread.

TTFN

Julie - I am so glad you are back posting. I missed you and was wondering what happened to my wedding coordinator if I needed to ask more question.s.

That is horrible what happened with your back and it is continueing. I couldn't even imagine that pain. Thank goodness Brooke was okay, but poor you. Ouch.

What a big girl Brooke is. I can't believe it was that easy for you with her to potty train. I guess 3 was the magical age for her.:cool1: That is hilarious about the Big Guy, what a great student....I bet he has all the teachers eating right out of his hand!!! He is too adorable.

Yay Makenzie, 1st goal!!!!! :dance3: :cheer2: I remember how excited we were when Amanda scored her first goal and Emily made her first basket!!!!

What an honor for Anna Marie. I guess no vacation for her? I don't think I could be that dedicated!!!!!!!

Julie: Tell Anna Marie congrats for us! Did they ever send Garry's dad home? I know they were supposed to on Friday. I hope you get some answers on your back soon.

I can't seem to lose any weight. I had lost 6 pounds in 1 week, but I gained 5 of it back over the holidays and I can't lose it. I haven't had time to exercise, but I really need to.

I guess Barb doesn't love us anymore.

Sandy: I know what you mean about eating like rabbits to stay healthy. I do love whole grain breads, pastas etc.. I love brown and wild rice. I don't like whole wheat pizza crust.

It is snowing, but not really accumulating. Mostly it is cold. I liked winter when it was more like spring!

Tomorrow we do lesson 100 out of 160 in school. It has gone really fast and I see improvements in Kaleigh since we started. She listens to stories much better now. She really likes numbers and has a puzzle game that deals with numbers. She is already at the highest level which is simple addition and subtraction. The game is for 2-6 year olds. We don't even start that stuff until I don't know when, not in pre-school. Tomorrow we learn the number 4. Mostly I am using this as an opportunity for her to write her numbers.

I can't think of anything else right now.

THANK YOU HEIDI!!!! I can't believe you found time to put my picture in my signature. I sure needed a change!! You make me tired just thinking about 5 hours of sleep. Dad is home. An insurance adjuster is coming out on the roof. Next time you are in Walmart, would you buy me the brown rice and I will pay you back?

Julie, your back sounds just terrible. I hate the thought of what you are going through. Backs are horrible! All the kids seem to be doing terrific, but what else could we expect from your FOUR?? Put me down for 2 samoas, please.

Denine, I can't lose my 10 day cruise weight. I am sooooo good during the week, weigh in on Friday, SPLURGE on the weekend and the vicious cycle goes on. I am tired of not being able to eat what I want. I just don't know what to do. I want to lose for Heidi's wedding. I want to lose more than what I was on the PC cruise, only by 4 lbs that leaves me with 17 lbs I want off. Just not in the right frame of mind. How can I change it? You and I did so good before. Now what??? ( of course, I said that I would buy two boxes of cookies BEFORE I complained to you:laughing: )

Barb, Jaymee has been on my mind the last couple of days. Have you heard from her?? How is boot camp? Is she adjusting well? She is such a sweetie. I hope everything is going PERFECT for her.....she deserves it!

Heidi, was is an ING account?

Stacey, come out, come out where ever you are.

I forgot to add that Bonnie's little grandson, Christian, has been admitted to the hospital for RSV possible pneumonia. Please send a little pixie dust.

Hello everyone!!!

Julie- I am SO sorry about your back...hurting your back is probably the worst thing possible I think. You don't realize how much you use those muscles. I hope you start feeling better soon!! Let us know what the MRI says!!

Denine- You are doing so good with schooling!! My SIL does it also with her four girls and she is not nearly as dedicated as you. GO GIRL!!!

Nothing exciting here really. Richard is very stressed about work- I don't know what we are going to do. We have to come up with a new game plan soon though.
Joey and Tyler are finally starting to feel better. We are heading to Wal-mart today to get out and enjoy the sun.
I have three parties schedules for February with Pampered Chef-Yeah!!! I am so excited!! I am also back to studying...I need to get more determined to do it though. I am getting better.
Finally dug out our F-350 yesterday so Richard took it to work today. Just about killed my back again. I think we will take it when we go down to the Springs on Sat- in-law visit.

Hi Sally!!
Hi Jeanne!

I sent Barb a PM and she told me was ok so that is nice to know.

Poor Bonnie, hopefully the grandbaby will be ok!!

Hello everyone!!!
I sent Barb a PM and she told me was ok so that is nice to know.
Did she tell you why she is not posting on this thread anymore?:confused3

Pixie Dust and prayers for Christian. How scary.

Hi guys,

Barb is ok. She is laying low for awhile. She is just having some down:sad2: time.

Heidi, thanks for adding my name. I really, really like it. Not to brag or anything but Dad and I just went shopping with Stacey and babies. It was fun. They wanted "Bapa". Cute!

I am headed to the doctor today. I am having pains in my stomach area. Not sick kind but it hurts to cough or sneeze or sometimes to just plain get in the Pathfinder. Really don't want to go. :confused3 It is so hard knowing when or if you should make an appt!

Haven't heard anymore on Christian.

Mom - what did the doctor say? I didn't realize you were going to the doctor, otherwise I would have called you last night.

Good morning.

Heidi, the doctor isn't real sure. He prodded and poked and couldn't get any pain out of it. He is leaning towards a soft tissue tear and will treat me that way for a week. If it is still there in a week he was talking about other tests like an ultrasound. The only thing around the area is the gall bladder and I definitely DON'T have any signs of trouble with that. With it being sneezing, coughing and in and out of cars, he is leaning towards soft tissue. Can't remember what he said about muscle. I believe he ruled that out as well.

Sandy: I hope your hurt heals soon. I agree. It is hard to know when to call the doctor sometimes.

Bonnie: Pixie dust to Christian. I know how hard it is with a little one sick in the hospital.

Barb: Glad to hear you are OK.

Julie: I forgot to say "YEAH!" about Makenzie's first goal.

Stacey: I can't imagine home schooling 4 kids. I read on the HS threads about how much some of these people do with their kids and I wonder when does the housework and cooking and other chores get done. I have a hard enough time some days.

We got a couple of inches of snow yesterday. Jerry took Kaleigh out to play in it. Poor kid always seems to be sick when we have snow or there is no snow. She had a blast. She was always rolling around in it. She wanted to make a snowman, but it was the dry, fluffy snow. She was soaking wet when she came in. Straight to the tub and jammies.

Jerry is working from home tomorrow, so I don't know when I will be on. I know I won't have time this weekend, so the rest of you are going to have to keep the thread alive!

Heidi: What is an ING account?

Sandy: I have at least 25 pounds to lose to get where I want to be.

Off to get Kaleigh lunch.
