October 19th Cruisers again and again... Part 2

I love cooking but cooking with kids along with trying to study and get everything else done has become very tough as everyone knows. Like Heidi said, I cook one day (all day) and can get a month's worth of food done. I don't necessarily use the cookbook anymore that my mom was talking about but now I use my own recipes. The cookbook is just a great way to get started and how to figure things out. It's called Once A Month Cooking by Beth Lagorborg. I found it really cheap on amazon.com

Heidi- I am cooking again on Saturday if you want to hook up. I will call you today and see what you want to do.

Watched Captain Garry twice today on TV and talked to Julie a ton of times.

Barb: You had better go with Stacey's ideas on cooking ahead. 1. I don't have much freezer space, I would really need a stand alone. 2. I am not a leftover person and reheating stuff I already made is a leftover to me. 3. I am also not a casserole person.

Heidi: So sorry about your pictures. I hope people out there can help. Also, your DL trip sounds like fun!

Sandy: Good to see you post again. WHne is that computer going to be fixed?

Now that I know what we are spending for the gift exchange, I have an idea what I am going to get.

Kaleigh's 4 year old pictures came out soooo cute.

Worked today, but then had the rest of the day to myself Jerry had a golf outing with work, he has never been before, but had to go. Since, it was by his mom's house, her dropped Kaleigh off at grandma's. I took a nice long nap.

Work again tomorrow.

I need to start packing for the trip this weekend.

Barb: As long as I am using a nonstick cookie pan, I don't have any problems with my cut out cookies sticking. You could use a little Pam.

Barb, I LOVE to cook. LOVE TO COOK. But.......with dieting I just don't do it anymore. I have some terrific recipes I would love to try but can't until I get my vacation pounds off. I gained 14 pounds, yes, I said 14 pounds. YIKES!! I have 10 more to go.

Yesterday I took off work to be with my best friend. It was her court date for her divorce and there was no way I was going to let her go alone. Her ex lives in FL and her mom had to watch her son, so I went with her. We then went shopping all day. We were out from 7:30am-4:30 pm. I took her to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and tried a mojito...whoa, that drink is definitely minty fresh and a sipper drink!!!!

Stacey - I would love to do it, but I will wait until next time. I don't have enough time to go grocery shopping to be prepared by 8:00am tomorrow!! I would have to think of substitutions for all the green peppers and onions!!!! Definitely next time.

Julie - I saw that I missed your call when I was in the courtroom but you didn't leave a message!!!!! Did you need something?

Hi everyone!

Sandy, no Anna Marie is not going with us. She decided to stay home and run cross country. Oh well, her loss.

Heidi, the hotel looks great! I know you were hoping for a hotel like the one in Houston, but I guess this one will have to do! I called you and your mom to make sure I had the correct address to mail my box to the ship. I got it off the the cruiseline thread, but I'm one of those people who JUST want to MAKE SURE it is right since this is the first time we are sending stuff ahead. Your mom did call me back and said I did send it to the right address, SO HOPEFULLY we will get out box. Otherwise the kids won't have dress shoes and we won't have our pirate costumes.

Well, Garry will be on T.V. AGAIN today. That will make it 3 days in a row!!! This time it is about a threatening email one of the catholic school got from a former student (like 30 yrs ago this person attended this school, so why now, who knows). I told Garry that he should get 8x10 head shots so he can sign them and hand them out because he is such a t.v. personality! Yesterday after his one tv appearance the Associated Press called him to ask him his opinion on something. They told him that they saw him on tv and wanted to talk to him! The department has created a monster!!LOL!!! There has never NEVER been this much media attention for the city that we can remember! See, they make Garry the PR person for the station, and look what happens!

Denine, see you'll be sailing with a "celeb" . I think he will be having an autograph signing on board.

Just got back from taking the Big Guy from getting his hair cut. He is going to be Dash from the Incredibles for the MNSSHP and the girls are going to be Cinderella (Makenzie) and SnowWhite (Brooke).

They started Diana's induction 7 PM last night and around 3 AM she went over to L & D. She was 3 cms & got her epidural. Her water broke around 10 AM today so I THINK we WILL have a baby today! (that's the baby dance).

HEIDI: So sorry about your pictures. You will love Disneyland. I loved it because you can walk from one Park to the other and you can feel Walt's presence in Disneyland.

DENINE & JULIE: Are you getting very excited? I sent a box before the cruise too! Shampoo, conditioner, sweats, shoes, etc. It is a great idea.

Joyce and I went out to Los Amigos last night for the first time since we came back from the cruise . Work has been so busy that we NEEDED some margaritas and crabcakes.

The weather is miserable here. They say it is a Nor'easter and that the shore is really getting hit. I am on doggie duty today - Dodger (the husky), Jake (the jack russell) and Buddy (the min.pin.). I am waiting until she starts "pushing" (Prim's tend to push for about two hours) and then I will head over the hospital again. Hope you all have a Fabulous and Fantastic Friday. Toodles JEANNE

Oh my goodness Jeanne. Your post was such a tease. Please let us know when Zoe is born. We are all so excited. Give Joyce a big hug from me. By the way, I made a 5X7 of the cute pirate picture of the 5 of us and put it in a frame so Ted can show off his wenches. Everyone else, I promise to post the pic when I get my computer back. Let me rephrase that. I promise to ask Heidi to do it.

We watched Captain Garry on TV again yesterday.

Kaleigh has a cold, she started with a sore throat yesterday.

I had my last PT session yesterday.

Need to make gingerbread cookies today and also try on clothes to see what I am taking on the cruise.

Also need to start packing this weekend.

I got my engagement ring back lat night. They did a nice job fixing it. THey had to do extra work to get it perfect again. Thankfully, I now have it for our anniversary trip.

Everything is finally really good. Yesterday was a little scary because Zoe had alot of mucous and was retracting and not breathing right so they had to deep suction her and then she improved. She was very close to going to NNSCU. Diana started running a fever and just looked exhausted last night. Today everything is better. The baby still has a little mucous but is MUCH better and Dians's fever is gone. I helped her shower today so she would feel better.

I have been so busy - between my mother, the dogs , the new baby and Diana. I did manage to drive to Ocean City and have breakfast with "the girls" including Joyce and her twin sister Janet and then went to the Craft Fair until noon. The weather is still terrible and the streets down the shore were all flooded. It is supposed to get better tomorrow. The sun will come out tomorrow....

Thank you all for the "Congrats". She is really a very pretty baby. She has all the right parts!

Jeanne: Glad everyone is doing better. Can't wait to see pictures either.

Kaleigh's cold got worse. Jerry was freaking out last night that we won't be able to go on vacation, but I kept assuring him that everything will be fine.

We made our gingerbread cookies and Humpty Dumpty egg yesterday. I also mad chocolate chip banana bread to use up the bananas that were turning. I also made tomato sauce using up ALL the tomatoes that I had and made dinner. Jerry vacuumed and cut the front grass. I decided which formal I am wearing and the other dresses. I have picked out Kaleigh's dresses. Started packing the toiletries in little bags. Looked through medicine and I don't remember what else.

Today I will cut the back grass and do whatever else needs to be done outside. I pulled out bathing suits and would like to start packing.

Jerry has a 3 hour meeting on Wednesday that he has to go back Downtown for. He is really dreading this the day before vacation. He had other plans for that day.

Need to do laundry before we go and still do 3 days of school. At least no more PT.

We are leaving Thursday morning to drive up to Detroit and fly out in the early afternoon.

Good Morning!

Spent the day yesterday in Fort Collins. We went up to watch Jason in the band and Michelle directing the band at a football game. CSU kicked butt the score was 28 to 7. We had such a good time. Jason did great in the half time show.

Last week we were in Denver to pick Missy up. This week for the football game and Friday we go up to pick Tiffany up at the airport for her 2 week break.

It is cold and cloudy here today. Next Sunday we are having our Thanksgiving dinner and the weather forecast is rainy and snowy!! YIPEEEEE usually our Holidays are warm and Sunny. I hope Christmas is snowy. Hard to believe that in Colorado we never have snow for Christmas. Maybe this year since we had such an awesome Summer and so far we have had a Fall!! For Coloradoean's we know we usually skip Fall and have a hard freeze in September then everything is dead the rest of the season. The Fall flowers are very pretty this year and we still have leaves on the trees.

Heidi- I will check the date for the Pampered Chef party. I know there are some things I want. I hope I can come. My October and November are just about booked solid but I am going to try. I LOVE Pampered Chef stuff.

I am done with the stockings. I am pretty happy about that. I have most of the candy bought to fill the Halloween bags and just need to order some cute stuff to put in them. I will try and figure out how to post a picture.

Good Morning!

Burrr it is cold here today. It was raining on the way into work. Usually when we have moisture this time of year it is not rain. Strange year for weather. I left about 5 minutes early. No traffic and because of the rain my entire drive in was in the dark. No line at Starbucks. I was panicing thinking the time changed and I forgot. When I got into work one of the girls I work with reminded me it is Columbus Day.

We are havin a Hoe Down for my Missionette class at the end of this month. I am in the middle of coming up with some fun ideas for it.

Denine & Julie- Wow that cruise is close! When will you guys be back home?

Barb: We are getting out of Dodge just in time. It is getting cold on Thursday and then will stay cold for a while. We will be gone for 16 days. Glad you got your stockings finished.

I am so ready for vacation! My brain has shut down already. I don't want to do anything but sit like a lump. But, I am trying to forge ahead. We did school this morning.

We are having hamburgers for dinner. Today is the last nice day, so we are cooking out. Jerry wants to cut the front grass one more time today before we go. He is going to cut it a little shorter than usual.

I am upset that there is no mail today. I am waiting for fruit fly traps to come. They have invaded my house and are driving us nuts. I was hoping they would come today. I think they all came in on the tomatoes.

Kaleigh is feeling better today. But, she is in that not too sick, but not better yet either stage. She always drives me nuts when she is in this stage. At least she is in the basement watching POC right now. I did have to turn the heat up because it is so cold down there.
