October 19th Cruisers again and again... Part 2

Well I made it through the flu shots!! I was "band-aid girl" yesterday. My feet hurt from standing all day.

It is pretty bad that I need to put my truck into 4wd just to pull in/out of my driveway. It is so iced up right now. I am thinking next snow storm I will have to shovel the street so it doesn't ice up as bad, or maybe pick up some salt to melt the ice.

So any ideas on how to make my home warmer? It is absolutely freezing and the furnace runs constantly. Hopefully my brother-in-law will come over to look and give me suggestions. When it gets up to the temp I have set it for, the furnace will turn off and not 2 minutes later it starts back up again. It's fun having a home of my own!!!

Good girl Heidi....did they give you a lollypop?

I know what you mean about the furnace....I keep my bedroom doors shut and if it is really cold I don't open my blinds until the sun comes out.....we have a doggie door and that sure lets a lot of cold in....I have to check it all the time to be sure it closed right.

I am washing all our winter coats....boy for two people we sure have a lot. I have two Disney jackets. I must have forgotten to take one and bought another one when it was cold.

We are going to Patti's for Thanksgiving and then we leave again Dec. l6th and won't be home again until Jan. 8th. Barb finally got her dates for Disney and she can't extend them for the 7th and 8th. WE still get to be there for 7 days so that will be fun.

Nope, no lollipops. How rude of them not to bring any in for us!!!!!

I wish I could go to Disney this year!!! It would be even better to escape the cold here!!!

Oh my, Heidi. Sure hope someone in the family can figure out your furnace problem!! Dad finally realized that the solar was broken and fixed it during the night last night. Now, we will have heat when you get here tonight. Oh, in case I forget to call you, Dad is going up to meet Lou and her atty at the hospital today at 4:30pm. He isn't sure how long it will take and then he doesn't want to leave her right after she signs her will so we may need to eat without your dad. He told me to tell you that he is sorry. I told him you would certainly understand. As far as going to the cabin, it just depends on how Louise is and if Clarene will be around. If he stays here, I will too. He said for me to go because I am the babysitter for the twins but I feel I need to be with him.

Sally, call me when you are ready for the diet. I will talk you through it. I am lacking in the motivation dept, too. Haven't lost what I gained on the cruise. I still need 2-3 pounds to get to my goal. I think I am not going to worry about it and have them stabilize me. My doctor yesterday was VERY pleased with where I am. You and your all nighters. I would be the first to sleep.

Today we are to hit our temp high by 11 and then get rain/snow mix. We are to have 1-3" by 1 and then the storm will be over. Crazy!

Heidi, if the storm is gone by the time Graci leaves, I think I will run to King Soopers and get my Panama Canal pics printed for 10 cents each. I hate to forget to use that coupon!!

I think I might have to call Bonnie and see what's up. She has been MIA for awhile. Susan, thinking of you, too. Not sure if you lurk but hugs to you. :love2:

Have a great day everyone.....

Sandy what kind of weather are you having? It is 30 at 7:ll.....

I will need you to walk me through the diet....what is the V-8 suppose to do for you? I like it so when I am hungry I drink a glass.....

ok if I can find it...

It is now 35 but only suppose to get up to 38 but no snow or rain in forecast

Just found out Barb made a mistake and booked her flight on the 29th...she said they would be there the 28th so that is what we booked....hope we can get in her vacation home without her

Oh my, hope the vacation thing works out for you! But I bet you won't have any problem. Maybe Barb can call them. Are you sure no moisture? Last night when we went to bed there was no call for snow and when we woke up they said it was coming down the 1-25 corridor, north to south. It is sunny but the clouds are coming in. It is fairly nice. Not sure of the temp.

I want to get my pics developed too, but will hopefully do it this weekend if I can't do it tonight. I need to figure out which pictures I want!!!

It looks sooooo cold outside. I really hope it doesn't snow when I am at work, I hate brushing off my car in my work clothes and shoes!!!!

Mom - We can try and hold off dinner until 6:00 so then maybe we can cook the steaks then and he will get home by the time the steaks get done. I really hope you guys will go to the cabin since this might be our last time to go up there. (But we will just make Aunt Glory babysit!!!)

Sally - oh no, hopefully you can get in to the vacation home without Barb.

I sure we will....she has been on the phone all morning trying to make arrangements for us to be picked up and taken to the hotel and she talked to them and they said no problem.....she doesn't want to lose us...the other kids might not understand.... :rotfl:

My supervisor called our group for a short meeting and she announced she has a new job. Her last day will be January 6th. Her position is Chief of Staff and Classification and she is currently acting for our Human Resources Officer because the Officer is on detail to Washington DC. Our Human Resources Director retired over a year ago, so that means all 3 supervisor positions are empty. What do you do with No supervisors!!!???? I think it is going to be a rough few months to come.

Apply to be a supervisor!!

Hi guys, just wanted you to know that I just got off the phone with Lori. She has recently gotten a divorce from Ben. She is doing just fine and sounded great. I even got to talk to Katie. Wow, Katie sounded so mature. It was fun talking to both of them. Don't be surprised if she pops in to say hello.

Julie, I loved talking to you as well. I could have talked to you all day.

Ya, I wish. Too bad in the government we have to meet a thing called Time-in-Grade. Plus I wouldn't want to put up with all the junk that supervisors have to deal with...especially HR management!!

WOW! You all sure have been chatty.

It is currently 27 here and windy with flurries in the air. I hate the cold!

Sandy: Except for the will, it sounds like your friend is in denial. Too bad.

Heidi: Jerry was short the 2 managers above him, now he is only missing his immediate manager. That is how I have been able to work 2 days a week instead of only one. He does do more work at home though. Glad you lived through your flu shot!

Sally: I could never do an all night anything. I can stay up until 3 AM, since we do that about once a month when we go to friends to play cards.

Heidi: SOunds like you need some insulation and maybe those plastic window kits. You need to check under doors for drafts. They make some really cute draft stoppers for doors. CHeck your outlets with a lit candle. If the flame moves, you need insulation there too. You can buy stuff for that. Use insulating curtains and window shades to block the cold. There are all kinds of things that cna be done. Good luck!

Potty training part ?: Jerry and I were talking last night. SO, he decided this morning to put her in her princess undies and tell her no more diapers or pull-ups. She wasn't happy, but she hasn't had an accident all day. She did wear a pull-up for naptime and will wear a diaper for bed. We will see.

I worked today. My hospice resident died Tueday night. I have another resident that we were checking her blood sugar once a week. Now we are doing it twice a day. Lets say she is less than cooperative. It took 2 of us and we could have used a 3rd person. As it was, my helper got stuck by the lancet. Luckily, the resident has no funky diseases, but I had her fill out an incident report anyway. The hazards of nursing and I get to do it again tomorrow!

Saturday we are going out to dinner and a movie. I can't wait!

Thanks for all the suggestions, that will really help me out. I appreciate it very much.

Good Morning Everyone

So sad to hear about Lori and Ben. Glad she is doing ok.

Strangest thing happened with my airline reservation. I booked it got the confirmation email and checked my bank account it was in the pended charge and had taken the amount away from the available balance. Got to work and checked it and everything was gone including the reservation through Travelocity. :confused3 I still had the confirmation email though, I wasn't to upset because I knew I could rebook and get the correct date this time  but decided to wait it out. Today Travelocity took their service fee but no sign of the airline charge and the reservation is showing again in Travelocity. Weird! :confused3

I have the tickets figured out and am working on our park schedule. I am so excited that my parents are going but don't want to push my Dad to hard. I am thinking it would be fun to go in the morning to the park, back to the hotel in the afternoon then back to the parks in the evenings.

I am going to try and get the rest of my Christmas stuff up today since I am off. Tonight we are going to see "Walk The Line" it looks really good.

Hey Mom tell Dad he needs to nap all day on the 28th before I get there so he is ready for the rest of the week! :teeth:
