October 16th, 2022 - 5-Night Halloween on the High Seas Cruise from New York (Bermuda)

I understand we can use the Navigator app to text each other while on board. Do we each need to use a separate log-in? Or can we each login to the same account and communicate with each other?

You will not need a login once you are connected to the ships wifi. You will each just need to have the app downloaded to your phones and then follow the instructions to link up for texting thru the app. It is nice cause you don’t need logins for each child to be able to text them. I’ll try and find some instructions online and post them.

Some helpful info from Disney Cruise Blog.

Also read that if you and your party have iPhones you can send and receive iMessages free of charge (also to folks back home). Text only though.

Yes that is correct. We did this on our last cruise and was able to text my mom back home to check on our cats. I have heard lately it hasn’t been working as well. Some have posted it working for a couple days then stops working and being unable to send and receive iMessage texts. I really hope it is working this sailing so we can check in on our cats again: 😁

Hehe, that’s the purrfect use for iMessage while abroad!

When can guests without kids explore the kids clubs? I would love to check out the Marvel themed area.

I noticed you wrote in the thread but it didn’t show up. The boards have been experiencing some glitches. I clicked your name to see what your wrote looking at your recent activity. :thumbsup2

So to answer your question you will be able to check out the kids clubs during open house hours. They will one of the open house hours the very first day you can just walk in to look around. You may see a line that first day outside the club and those are usually just people waiting to register their kids for the club if they haven’t yet. You can just walk by them and let them know you are just going in to look around. During the rest of the cruise they will post in the navigator what hours and what clubs are going to have an open house each day. Hope this helps.

Hopefully this message posts with the issues currently going on the boards.

For those participating on the FE is anyone sailing for the first time? We are sailing as gold and will be getting the sling bag and a set of luggage tags as our castaway club gift. We would love to give these away to someone that this will be their first sailing. If no one is new any silver members would you like the luggage tags or another sling bag let me know I can include these items in your FE gift. :goodvibes

Thanks to all who have been adding all the great info to this thread. I just booked the 10/31 sailing last week so wouldn’t have received an email about Bermuda requirements. I didn‘t know anything about the Travel Authorization form until I was looking up port excursions on another forum and fell down the rabbit hole. There is NOTHING on the DCL “Before You Go” or COVID related pages about applying for the required TA. All that’s mentioned is that the 90 day COVID recovery letter isn’t accepted by Bermuda. It is the most confusing language! Even after talking to my Travel Agent, I still wasn’t comfortable about what we needed to do for Bermuda. Now, after reading the email and this thread, I finally feel at ease!

SO, THANK YOU ALL for sharing! I wish all of you a happy sailing!

Thread Alert!

The DISboards has been having issues with posts not appearing after trying to post. This was a big issue yesterday. Myself and others tried posting and nothing appeared in the thread. I will try my best to reply to those who do post once I find what you wrote and answer your questions as soon as possible by other means like private message and will post here once I can also.

With the boards having issues I am extending the Fish Exchange check in until the end of this week to give time to those who may have had issues posting their confirmation in still participating. Also those who are participating in the FE are there any first time crusiers? We are gold members and will get the luggage tags and sling bag. We would like to give them to someone new to cruising. Also if any silver would like the luggage tags let me know also.

Link to the Technical board thread discussing about the posting issue.

To answer your question you tried posting.

When can you check out the kids club?

The first day they will have an open house . You may see a line outside it but that is usually parents registering their kids. You can walk by and let them know you are just going to take a look around. During the rest of the cruise they will list open house hours for the kids clubs in the navigator so you know when you can go take a look around each of the clubs your interested in. Hope this was helpful and the boards start behaving again. :goodvibes

This reminds me, do we need to apply for the Bermuda Travel Authorization ourselves?
I can't remember the final outcome to that question.

Yes, you will have to complete the Authorization form yourselves. Also you have to complete Safe Passage before we sail also. You can do so 15 days before sailing. We plan to start everything on Oct 1st. :thumbsup2

8-) At their website they say you can apply for travel authorization 2 to 30 days before departure, must upload proof of vaccination, submit your negative covid test no more than 2 days before departure and pay them $40/person. All visitors over the age of 2 must apply whether or not you intend to come ashore when you get to Bermuda.

So can we start the process now and submit the vaccination information and then go back in 2 days prior to departure with the test results?
Is there a particular type of test that is not accepted? I plan to go to a local pharmacy on the Friday (or can I get tested on Thursday) before our Sunday sailing.
