I don't do Math. I was much more a student of History.

Excellent! I majored in history in college...am still trying to figure out how I ended up in finance (I also hate math, but here I am...analyzing financial statements and tax returns before making credit recommndations... )

All I know is that I have 80 more days until my vacation starts and that means I don't have much time to take off ten more pounds before I put it all back on in October.

I never used to be a big fan of coffee until we went to New Orleans and I tried cafe au lait... now I'm totally hooked on the chicory coffee from Cafe du Mond. Half coffee...half milk...lots of sugar...I can feel the buzz kicking in even as I type!

Speaking of numbers, have you guys seen the ridiculous temperatures (both daytime highs and nighttime lows) in the southwest? Kevin: You keeping cool and staying hydrated out there?

I believe the count is over 16 days straight that our high is over 110 degrees - AUGH!!! It wouldn't be soooo bad...but, our low is still in the mid to high eighties. Oh well...we get even during the winter months.

trying to keep cool...when it gets too bad...I just take a 'mental trip' to Palo for Chocolate soufflé.

will be escaping the heat all next week. Nan, the girls and I will be spending the week in Alpine, AZ. This 'one stop light' town is at 8,000 feet with tempatures in the high 80's/low 90's.

Well, I studied History too, but didn't get a degree. What did *I* go into? Technical Writing. I am still trying to figure that one out.

I'm hoping to go back to school this fall so that I can do something else if I go back to work! I'm sure technology will have passed me by by then.

My husband graduated with an accounting degree, and now he is a Network Engineer. Go figure.

they serve coffee at Cafe du Monde??? I LOVE the Beignets (french doughnuts)...who needs coffee when those are around?? I do have to admit my friends at work are rubbing off on me and the iced mochachinnos at Starbucks and Panera Bread are really good!

Schmoogirl...have you bought the guavaberry rum for coladas before...where did you get it? I heard that phillipsberg is where it can be found but i did not know where....

Oh yeah. There is one shoppe in St. Martin. It is in the area right where you get off the boat. I'm clueless if it is called Phillipsburg or not. I just know that it is quite yummy and they don't have open container laws there so you can buy one and walk down the street with it! We got a bottle ofthat and another type of alcohol that escapes my mind, but tastes like a smoother version of sambuca

We've been to the butterfly farm. It is pretty neat, but not the biggest thrill of my life. My neice (who was 7) LOVED it. I imagine my daughter would love it too.

Shiver me timbers!! that's what I be! I work for the company formerly known as Adelphia Cable.... now known as... TimeCast (Time Warner + Comcast). the scary thing is, TW still hasn't decided whether they are keeping my group... but we are hopeful...

unfortuneatley where I am, closest starbucks/panera is like 100+ miles away.... so I have to do the Gevalia thing or buy from Sheetz (which for those of you not from mid-atlantica) is a gas station/convinience store (think bright red canopy/overhang/roof). They make decent coffee.... (nothing special).. their signature store (the one where sheetz began) is in Altoona, PA and they have made it more like a one stop place for everything... I got a "Code Red" expresso there once... two shots of expresso and regular (fully loaded) coffee... yeoooowww!!

anyway, I have no idea where I was going with the Sheetz thing besides providing useless trivia... I saw Madagascar last night with Mollie and girls... pretty good movie... some adult humour but not tooo much... One of my pet peeves is parents who think taking kids to a movie that is laden with adult humour then saying "their kids... it goes right over their heads"... that's why my 3 year old loves to sing Who let the dogs out... it goes over her head...

I've been to their signature store in Altoona! That's where my grandmother (who is accompanying us on this trip) is from. I don't even think you can call that Sheetz a gas station anymore. It's unbelievable.

Oh, and as for the heat, we may not be near 110 here in the Houston area, but I can totally sympathize with our friends in Arizona about the heat because we're upper 90s with near 100% humidity. The "feels like" heat index has been well over 100 for a while. But, as I remind all my friends from up north, you don't have to shovel sunshine.

We've got it, too, although not as bad as some. Our forecast through the weekend is temps. in the high 90's (yesterday hit 98) with a heat index between 110-115. The humidty around here is awful this time of year - the air looks soupy.

DH and I are going to the Cubs / Cards game tonight...I might be able to sweat off some of the weight I've been trying to lose!

We have Sheetz up here in Northern VA.

I didn't know that thefirst was in Altoona, though. We went there for Railfest a few years back (My husband is a train nut) and he's been dying to go back. If we ever make it, I'll have to make him stop at the 'very first' Sheetz!

My Best friend and I are still planning on renting the Jeep for the day in St.Martin. I have read on the cruise-critic thread so many good things about the Island.

Are we crazy to set off with a couple 7 year olds and a 3 year old and explore the Island for the day??? They did say we could have a booster seat for the 3 year old and the Jeep seats 5.

Also I booked the St.John beach and snorkel trip,but now that Gary is not going I don't know if it is a good idea to take DD. She is not good at snorkeling yet and If I go I want to snorkel. Barb can't go cause her DD is only 3 and this trip is 5 and above. So I was thinking of leaving DD with her and her two kids that morning and I could do the excursion and then be back by 1:30. Then I could take over and let her go do her own thing for a few hours?? Does that sound fair??? I think this trip leaves at 7:40 and I don't mind going alone since I would be with the ship's excursion. I tell ya it is so hard to plan when you don't have a partner along with you. Oh well we will manage.

I'm not laughing... I think it is great! No you do not have to reserve anything. You automatically get a Character breakfast and it will depend on you dining rotation. You will find out when you get on board.

I can't believe it is almost August!!

We are dying here in the heat!! Hope the rest of you are staying cool! WE HAVE TO GET HAY TODAY!!!! UGH! Hottest day of the year!! perfect!

Nancy. You don't have to book anything for the character breadfast. It's an automatic "perk" of the cruise. Depending on what your dinning rotation determines what morning your character breakfast is.

Michelle, I think the jeep rental is a great idea and a lot of fun!
I would do the excursion on my own too as long as it's a Disney excursion and I wasn't venturing out on my own.

I saw on the news the other day that parts of Missouri & Kansas were under a heat advisory. I guess I won't complain to much about up here in Minnesota. I kinda like the heat since about 7 months out of the year we have cooler temps.

Anyway, all this talk of coffee makes me want to run to Starbucks & get a grande "lite" white choclate mocha frappacino, no whip. Has any of you tried French Press coffee? That's my favorite.
