October 15, 2005 anyone?

Paige....I'll be fighting you for Palo ressies on August 1st too!! :rotfl:
Just think, next time we'll be able to book at 90 days out rather than 105!! :goodvibes

Ok...guys, I probably won't be online this weekend either. So, I'm asking my "friends" here to say a little prayer for me on Tuesday. I go for my 9 month cancer check up and I'm as nervous as H--L!!!
I'm praying for a clean bill of health and a "cancer free" checkup.

Monday will be the dentist to get that broken molar fixed. This will be some week for me.

I can use all the prayers (and thoughts) you guys can send my way.

Michelle and Brenda....Have fun with Harry Potter and the Luau. Sounds like fun all around!!!

Thanks guys.... :wave2:
Nancy

I will say a prayer for you Nancy!

We promise not to scoop up all the Palo ressies!! :rotfl: I am sure you guys will all get what you want...No worries! :goodvibes

Have a good weekend all!!

ALOHA! :flower: I got to get ready to do the Limbo tomorrow night!! :teeth:

We just paid off our cruise yesterday and since we ordered the REAS package we were able to make our reservations. :cheer2: We waited until now since my SIL can reserve at the 90 day mark and we wanted to eat brunch and afternoon tea together. The other cruisers in our group are so excited but will have to wait for August 1, including my Mom and Brother's cabin. :earsgirl:

Question: If you are approved to book, did anyone reserve the "Wild Side CC-07"? It was in the descriptions, however, I could not reserve. I spoke with Disney and they said to check with them periodically? They weren't sure why it doesn't show up in their system. :confused3 It may be blocked off until DCL knows the number of teens or who knows. Any comments would be appreciated :flower:

We got great news and part of our group who were waitlisted for 1st seating got a call that they were able to get us all in for early dining. :grouphug: We currently have about 40 in our group...

I also pre-ordered the Harry Potter book and I've been tracking it with UPS. Hopefully it'll arrive by tomorrow morning or maybe I'll be lucky and get it this evening??? :bounce:  Wishful thinking  I'm heading to the pool to cool off --it's 92 degrees and tomorrow it'll be approximately 98 degrees :cool1:

Have a wonderful time at the parties :earseek: :flower: :sunny:

Evie :cloud9:

Nancy, our thoughts are with you this week.

It was confirmed one of the London bombers lived just over 500 yards from our house. Sirens have been going every day. Last night a suspicious package was found in a phone box and road closed off. It is unbelievable, we live in a quiet village. Hope things get back to normal soon.

No HP parties here but we are having a BBQ for DS 11th Birthday. It is on the 26th but we are going to Spain for 2 weeks next Sat.

Hope all the books turn up.
Wayne

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Our HP party went off great - seems like everyone had a great time. Picked up our books last night...this morning??? we were home by 1:30AM - read for a few hours...went to bed for a few hours...read the rest of the book...cried like a baby. Anyone interested in a offthread discussion of this book? Feel free to PM me - I'd love to know what you think without ruining anything for those who haven't read it.

Nancy, good luck on Tuesday; you'll be in my thoughts.

Brenda

Nancy, you will be in our thoughts and prayers this week!

Michelle, Hoping your having a Luau of a time. :sunny:

Brenda, glad your HP party went well. I'm not into HP, but I'm really into P&P(Pride & Prejudice), and I just found out that there is another P&P movie w/ Kira Knightly coming out in September and I can't wait!!! :)

Well, our Disney Cruise keeps getting closer & closer. I'm even almost packed.

My DH is in Guam right now and he e-mailed me that it was very humid and very tropical. Well, we have been in the 90's for the last 8 days and are supposed to get to 99 tomorrow. Is anyone else getting this hot & humid weather? All I can say is thank God for central air, and that we live in the land of 10,000 lakes. :sunny:

Nancy

Hey Nancy - thoughts and prayers for 'great news' Tuesday - and everyday!!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: I had to give our weather 5 suns. we hit 116 today...and with the clouds rolling in...tomorrow's going to be 'hot and muggy'...AUGH!!

Sounds like everbody had some great plan/times for the new HP book. It's funny - my DW and DD's are in a small North Eastern Arizona city called Alpine, till the begining of the week. It's - oh...about an hour from nowhere - just left of...man, I am soooo lost. Anyway - our oldest is a BIG HP fan. Well...she has to wait till Sunday to get a copy of her book. I'll assume she'll find a quiet spot in the forest and read all day.

Hello there everyone! Just to let you know I was able to access the DCL on-line reservation system at 8:30AM CST this morning and took care of everything DH and I wanted. A very nice function, indeed - kudos to DCL for implementing it!

FYI...I did try it about 12:15 AM just to see what would happen and it still wouldn't allow me to reserve anything. I'm guessing that their system must update in the early morning and then roll to the next day to coincide with the hours that representatives are available (isn't that 9AM-8PM?) by phone.

Whatever...it works and I'm psyched that all we have to do on the 15th is get that reservation made for the Rasul bath... ;)

Enjoy your day and happy reservation plans to you all!!

Brenda, who is still recovering from HP6...

Hi everyone, hope you all got your ressies you wanted. Booked DS into Oceaneers Lab. Also Myself and DS Castaway Cay Bottom Fishing 1pm, Never been fishing in my life so someone will probably have a laugh at our expense.
No interest in Palo's so giving a chance to 75 day bookers.
DW picked up HP book Sat morning from our local Supermarket at $8.50, cheapest in country. For once I think that is cheaper than US.
She is taking it on vacation next week to read.

Ok, ok ... the 75 day mark is the next/last advanced reservations date. I haven't dug in too deep in research about what reservations I need to be thinking about. Partly, it's because I'm not completely sure about the dining scenarios.

Tell me if this is accurate. After reviewing the PassPorters Guide to the DCL, It seems that Night 4 (Oct. 18) is "Tropicali", night five is "around the world", night six is Captains Gala (formal night) and night seven is "the best of." Hmm, why do I recall something about a Pirate night? Is that on our cruise? All of this is factoring in on when or if to make a reservation for Palos.

Planning spa reservations and shore excursions are next...

pirates night is the same as the old tropicali night! i think it is night 4 of our cruise! good luck getting your ressies! :flower:

VA_Mouseman,

Here are some points to consider:
  • Sunday night is formal night
  • Tuesday night is Pirate night
  • Thursday night is semi-formal night. (Also, this is the night they serve lobster!)
  • Your character breakfast will be on an at-sea day, and will depend on which rotation you are assigned to. Your character breakfast will be on the first at-sea day after your first dinner at Animator's Palate. (So, your character breakfast will be on Sunday if you have APLAPLA, Monday if you have LAPLAPL, and Thursday if you have PLAPLAP.)
  • While you are thinking about when/if you want dinner at Palo, remember that you can also book a reservation for Palo Brunch and a reservation for Palo High Tea. Brunch and High Tea are available on the at-sea days (Sunday, Monday, and Thursday).
Have fun planning! :earsboy:

Lua was fun! :flower: I am worn and drank out!! :drinking1 :faint: We did have a good time and when I got back to my Cousins house at 12:10 AM I tried to get on line and it would not let me book either. :confused3

So about 9:30 am I got on line and booked everything I wanted!! :cool1: It was kind of fun. I got Jo signed up for the clubs and booked Palo dinner and brunch. I only had to adjust brunch by a half hour from what I wanted. I also booked a massage for a Sea day and if they offer the other service I wanted I will just switch it when I get on board. I just wanted to grab a slot cause there were not many left on line for the Monday. :confused3 I bet they save slots for the 75 day people and on board booking. I also got the St.John beach excursion booked.

I hate to speak to soon again...... (you guys will think I am crazy)! My best friend who was booked and cancelled just surprised me and re-booked today!! :goodvibes :cool1: :goodvibes I just hope she stays booked this time!!!!!!! :rotfl: Plus....Bad Idea to add my ExH to the ressie! I changed my mind and took him off....I am done with him for good! So that is why my best friend stepped up and re-booked. I told her that I did not expect her too,but she really wanted to go in the first place. I know we are messed up! I just can't wait to set sail and leave my troubles behind for atleast one week! :sad2: DD and I are going no matter what. I really would like another adult along, but I can do it without one too!

Well I hope everyone got booked and all the Harry Potter parties where fun!

In just 2 1/2 hours I get MR.Molar fixed!!! Aghhhh!!!!!!! Hopefully the dentist can "fix" it and not have to "replace" it with a crown. There goes some of my cruise money!!!

If today isn't bad enough, tomorrow is "D" day....(or should I say "C" day). I won't know if my cancer is gone until I get results from blood tests. So, I'll let you all know in about a week. Isn't that horrible? I have to wait for a whole week!!! If it wasn't for this cruise to look foward to, I'd go out of my mind playing the waiting game. There has to be a better way!!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers you sent my way. I hope they work.

Later friends,
Nancy

P.S.....If anyone has an extra rain, please send it my way. :umbrella:

OK....back from the dentist. Bad news....I need a crown. The good news is that I "strategically" scheduled my appointment for August 1st at 9:00 a.m. (75 days out for our cruise). That way I can get up at 6:00 and start making ressies and not have to rush out the door for work by 7:30. I'll have until 8:30 to make my plans!! :goodvibes

Now two more appointments tomorrow. Those are the scarey ones!!

Later,
Nancy

Good luck Nancy...you are in my prayers...i am sorry you have to wait so long for results...i know it makes things worse!

i have recovered from my Harry Potter weekend...although i am still in shock and the tears won't stop...i'm sorry i cannot say more and spoil it for anyone but pm me when the depression starts in....

i cannot believe we are less than 90 days now! I got my other kids registered for the kids club sunday and now we are all ready...i also will only need to make a ressie for the surial bath when we board but if we do not get a ressie i will survive...thank goodness we do not have to do the ressie rush anymore! does anyone know where we go or when we get the bands for the kids for the clubs?

Also, i read on these boards that after we board we can go to guest services and they will change our KTTW cards to allow access to a different room even though your ressie is on a certain room. For example, when we made our ressies, my dh was in one room with 1 child and i was in another with 3 kids...when we added my mom, we had to add her to my hubby's room since mine was full. they could not take me out of my room because it would cancel the room and we would have to rebook at the current rate...has anyone had this happen and can my mom and i get our keys to open the opposite room from our ressie? i, of course, plan to share a room with my hubby and my mom will share with a couple kids but i thought it would get confusing for us to try to keep up with 2 sets of room cards each...any ideas?

:cake: :bday: My best friend did it!! She booked yesterday and so we will Barb,Gustus(7) and Reese( 2 ) joining us on our October 15th sailing! I am so excited that she has rebooked! :cool1:

She got a pretty good rate for booking late. She is in a Cat 9 Guarantee and on the early dining wait list. The TA said she would link her to my reservation # and that may help her get the early dining. We will have to go talk to the dining people when we get on board. No big deal I can always switch to late if I need too. :goodvibes

Plus we have an event! :bday: REESE WILL BE TURNING 3 ON THIS SALING!

The best part for my friend is she only had to pay the $199 for Reese since she is 2 starting out on the cruise. Plus she can go to the kids club cause she is potty trained!! We are excited about that. :cool1:

SamR...

Thanks for the little chart on dining rotations. Since I don't have "really dressy" clothes for this cruise, do you know which dining room I should be hoping for on formal night? I won't be going to Topsiders on formal night as some on the main thread will suggest I do. :goodvibes

My dress up clothes are a new black pantsuit with nice jewelry. NO GOWNS for this girl!! :teeth:

I'll be hoping for the least "fancy" dining room for formal night.

I can't request a dining rotation, can I???

Thanks,
Nancy :flower:

...do you know which dining room I should be hoping for on formal night?
Lumiere's is usually regarded as the most formal, with Parrot Cay the least formal, but I really don't think it matters that much. That evening is designated as "formal" regardless of which of the three main dining rooms you are in. But I think the definition of "formal" varies dramatically as previous, highly-flammable, DISBOARDS threads have shown. :scared1: :duck: :teeth:
My dress up clothes are a new black pantsuit with nice jewelry. NO GOWNS for this girl!!
That sounds fine to me, but then what does a guy like me know about fashion? :confused3

I'm actually thinking about wearing a tux on formal night. (If I do, it'll be the first time I've worn one in years!) With that in mind, I suggested to my wife that she take a look at evening gowns. My bruises should heal any day now. :duck: :rotfl:
I can't request a dining rotation, can I?
Yes, you can have your TA (or DCL, if you booked directly) add a rotation request to your reservation. I requested PLAPLAP because I want to be in Lumiere's on formal night, and I figured I would want to dress up a little more for Lumiere's anyway since it is the most formal dining room. I look at it as getting my most formal nights (other than Palo night) out of the way at one time. :teeth:

If you want to be in the least formal room on formal night, you might want to request APLAPLA, putting you in Parrot Cay on formal night. Just make sure that will fit OK with your other plans, such as Palo.

I hope we get it! :cool1:

I bought a new gown and I intend to wear it. How often does a girl get to dress up like this... princess: Although I did get it 70% off at Famous! :cool1:

Bye,
Michelle
