Hey Dawn...I just sent you a return e-mail. Hope the suggestions offered assist. Kevin

We just booked, too! Can't wait! This will be our first cruise. A comprise from me - type A - and my husband, who tells every single person he meets that at our family Disney World vacation, I made him get up at 4:30am to be at the bus at 5am to be at the Dumbo ride at 5:15am.... (you get the picture.) ;) It's the two of us and our DD, age 10, who cannot wait. I am thrilled to be meeting others, especially since we have a "one and only" child and would like her to meet some new friends on the trip!

Hey Margaritaqueen - welcome to our cruise thread and The DIS. Great screen name --- by the way.

Howdy to all!

I wanted to share some info on airfare - I just booked our airfare for the cruise and got the best deal. Continental has great rates - I'm coming from Houston and just paid $140 less per ticket than I paid for our spring trip last year. Keep in mind that fuel prices are starting to go up and the whole supply and demand thing too. Our flights were pretty empty when I checked the seating assignments so everyone is seated together as well. Just thought I'd pass this along to anyone who hasn't booked.

Tex

:confused3 Well I looked up continental online and it was over $280 a person for me, needless to say I will be waiting for southwest to open up their fall schedule and then booking. It's hard for any other air carrier to match southwest cheap prices, I hate the whole cattle call thing but we have an infant so at least we can preboard and get seats together. Congratulations DisneyFamily TX on your great rate. :cheer2:

Seven months or 213 days - either way it seems so much closer! Can't wait for all the upcoming fun. Cruise-A-Palooza here we come!

Hi everyone!!

Just wanted to check in and say Hi. Also, have a question. I've been reading the thread alittle at a time. I've been reading about door magnets. I understand that I can buy the paper at America's favorite place to shop - Wal-Mart. Does Disney Cruise Line mind if you put the door magnets on the outside of your room cabin door? I know this is something my granddaughter would love doing.:cheer2: She is going to be 8 when we sail and like her Nana and me all excited about going. Thanks for helping me with all my questions guys:woohoo: I'll check back later.:smickey:

Disney does not mind the door magnets. Have you seen pictures of them on the board? Some people go all out. I think this time I will do something simple. (My first cruise our door was bare). You can print right to a magnet or can glue paper (I would lamenate it first) to magnet pieces. I can't remeber but I believe a very organized diser on our cruise had someone make theirs for her several months ago. Sorry can't remember who it was but I was impressed! Not only do the door magnets look nice, they help to locate your stateroom when all the doors look so much alike.

Another idea is the Mickey paint chips. Home Depot has paint chips in the shape of Mickey! Many people also decorate their door with those. To identify yourself as a diser include the color lime green (official color of the dis board!). I've also read that sometimes the magnets get new "homes" late at night. Making one is on my to do list too!

Bev - thanks for the great link - soooo many wonderful pictures I can't figure where to begin to update my family website.

Took the day off to be home with the kiddos and noticed on the TV Guide that tomorrow (3/15) at 4:00 p.m. central - the travel channel has their Disney Cruise Line special. Set those DVR's if you need a DCL fix.

Regarding the airfare discussion, (sorry, been too busy to write sooner!) I just booked our on our FAVORITE airline, Midwest Airlines. Our tickets were a steal - $178pp!! That is really cheap for Midwest, considering the kind of service and luxury you ride in!! (And the amazing chocolate chip cookies!) I know they have mostly midwest hubs, but thought you all might want to check them out, just in case.

WOW!!! Great to hear some are finding good prices on flights. I've been watching and am hoping that prices will fall. I, too, am waiting till May when Southwest opens up flights for our travel dates. Hope to find some good fares with SWA or other carriers.

Decorate your door - question. Some people go all out in decorating. It's an event in itself walking the hall ways to see how people have decorated their doors. The link Bevtoy offered has some FANTASTIC images - some great items on that site.

well...weekend is near___hope all have some great plans. k

Hi To everyone,
Again, just want to thank ya'll for the answers to my questions. You guys are much appreciated. I'm going to get my granddaughter :cutie: to help me with our door magnets. And the link to some Disney clipart was great.:cool1: I have some good ideas, and I know my granddaughter will too. Thanks again guys.

Alrighty, I'm back...

I took a hiatus from the DIS boards due to the ridonkulous time from our departure that remained when I booked the cruise. It made the time until we leave seem *so* slow.

Now that we have ~7 months left I can no longer contain my excitement and feel compelled to lurk once more.

Hope everyone is doing well, only ~4 months until our balances are due! :3dglasses

I checked Midwest prices out of the Twin Cities and while the prices are in the ballpark that I'm willing to spend, the flights home that are listed from Orlando all leave way too early.

Right now the usual airlines we fly, "Sun Country" wants to be a mystery, no flights for October are showing as of yet. Even though it's less than 7 months out from October :confused3 :confused3

And it would appear "Northwest Airlines" motto is either, Let's soak our customers for everything they got or Boy would I like to see the expression on their face when they see our prices

Will just have to keep on checking and hope we find a good price for the flight times we need.

Well, we're driving to FL so no searching for airfare here. I still haven't told the kids that daddy and I are taking a cruise though... I may wait a bit more on that one, lol.

And thanks for the pictures Bev! Lots of ideas there :)

Do we have a "logo" yet? Did we decide definitely on Cruise-a-palooza? When we know for certain what we're calling ourselves I'd like to take a shot at creating a logo - we can use it for door magnets, tshirt transfers, whatever. What do you think?

I think that we have decided on Cruise-a-palooza for sure.
I would love to see a logo for our group!
