October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

SNicksed, Yes it came up w/o children. I wonder why. It seems the best deals are available closer to the sail date. Thanks again. I'll keep checking also.

Good Morning - I just paid for our auto train tickets. Trying to pay off as much as possible before the 'big' one.

Hey to all...all say's hey.

Sorry for the 'long pause' between posts...I blinked and some where I lost February...anyone know where it went? Guess that just will make this October come faster.

Cruis-A-Palooza...nice name...I think this will make Bigben happy.

Bev...outstanding work on the polls...thank you for your work on this.

I have some good news - my oldest, Karin was in a competition over the weekend. She and 4 others got second place in "Odyssey of the Mind" and will be going to State later this month. It's a little scary to know that they could go to World in May. I am breathing easier...that this will be held in Michigan...next year is in Poland. We are very proud of their hard work and this accomplishment. So...please forgive me if I boast a little.

Karin is the second from the right.

Hope this finds all well...take good care

Kevin, congrats to your daughter and her friends! That's something to be proud of. :goodvibes

Okay, right now I am all about the airfare. I check daily even though I know I have a little time. ;)

COngrats Kevin you should be proud of your daughter! I just enrolled my youngest in tumbling classes and my oldest is on Scholar Bowl (Trivia Team)
and on the soccer team and headed for prom so I may "inflict" a few photos of my own as time goes by. Your daughter is a lovely young lady!

My wife, granddaughter & I booked back in March of 06'. We had been talking about doing a Disney Cruise for some time and finally decided to go ahead and do it. This will be our first cruise for all of us. We are BIG Disney fans and we can't wait for the cruise. I have a question to anyone who has already taken the Disney Cruise. What is the earliest you can board the ship? We want to get the lay of the ship and start our Cruise as soon as possible.:goofy:

Congratulations d'Isigny and Karin. Way to go!
Welcome davidls. How old is your granddaughter (DG)?
Bevtoy I saw you replied to my Hotwire post. I hope I understand your question correctly. When booking through Hotwire you do not know exactly what hotel you will be staying in until you pay. Then the name of the hotel is displayed. Curious isn't it!

Hello to davidls - notice this was your first post....so, welcome to The DIS and a cruise thread we've nicknamed - "Cruise-A-Palooza".

We have an off-DIS website that might offer you some planning assistance - if you want to send me an e-mail with your e-mail address - I'll send you and invite

Jenmack
Can you go to ypur first post and edit it so the thread topic has "Cruise-A-Palooza' in the title?

Bev, it's done. Do you think it's okay or should I put it before the date?

~Jen :)

I just wanted to write back and thank you guys for your help with my question on boarding the ship. The links you provided were of great help to my family and me. We learned the answer to our question and also learned allot of other things we would have been asking later.
My grandaughter is 7 but she will be 8 years old at the time of the cruise. She is all excited about going. We have been putting back money for her each week so she has her own spending money. She has all of these plans to buy her daddy all kinds of gifts.
One nice thing for us, we live down here in Florida. We go over to Walt Disney World as often as we can. We live in the Tampa Bay area so it is only about an hour and a half drive for us. :mickeyjum
Again, thank you everyone for all of your help.pluto: I wish I had learned of this site some time ago. Would have saved me allot of web searching.

My DH, and DD age 10 and infant son will be sailing with you. We cant' wait. Looks like my daughter will have lots of playmates on board. I have read the entire thread, you guys are so funny. Can't wait to meet some of you in person.

Dawn:rotfl2:

We just booked, too! Can't wait! This will be our first cruise. A comprise from me - type A - and my husband, who tells every single person he meets that at our family Disney World vacation, I made him get up at 4:30am to be at the bus at 5am to be at the Dumbo ride at 5:15am.... (you get the picture.) ;) It's the two of us and our DD, age 10, who cannot wait. I am thrilled to be meeting others, especially since we have a "one and only" child and would like her to meet some new friends on the trip!

My youngest DD will be 10 at time of sailing so it looks like their will be lots of 10 year olds!
The oldest will be 17 at time of sailing and she has met one other 17 year old who seems really nice! :woohoo: Anyone else have a older teen?

Welcome to all the newcomers! :)

DawnS, now that's some serious reading, but for a good cause I think. :goodvibes

My DD is 10 too! My teenage niece is soming too, but will probably hang out more with my teenage DS. So, it's good to know that there will be alot of fellow 10 year olds. :grouphug:

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

Well, it's good to know there will be lots of 10 year old DD's!! Let's hope their attitudes don't all kick in at once! :rotfl:

Have they emailed back and forth to get to know each other? Or is that just something the teens have done? (My DD doesn't have her own email, but might think it is fun to get to know other girls who are going before the trip!)

Too true, too true! :rotfl2: It's good to know that there are more out there like that...;)

Actually no they haven't, but it's a good idea. I know that my DD would be up for it. She too, doesn't have an e-mail address, but maybe they can e-mail here, or on the yahoo site... :confused3
