October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the new members. Sorry for my MIA staus too. I must say that I've been feeling a bit blue reading some of the posts on the board lately- no live band, a ho hum no frills repeat cruisers party, and just plain rude behavior from the passengers. This is my secong cruise so I was looking forward to the Castaway Cay Club party. I've read it's warm bottled soda and Mickey chrispies. I need to hear some positive comments to get my spirits back up. Bye for now.

Welcome padisney fan!

Seagee, I too, am disappointed about the castaway club reception. Oh well, what can you do. Maybe they will change it for the better by the time we cruise. You can always wish... :tink:

Well, I have all of our door signs printed on the magnetic paper. I also had ordered t-shirts from Disney shopping. I had to hide them though, because I am goimg to mail them to Shirley from the perfect gift & have her put them in baskets I'm having made up for the kids. Anyway, the shirts are Pirates of the Caribbean and I had the kids name's put on them. The kids will wear them along with pirate patch and earing for pirate night. And me? I think bevtoy said it all. :teeth:

~Have a great week everyone! :sunny:

Thanks for the welcome.

The Magic still has the live band. I did not attend the Castaway Party as I forgot about it since it became a midday event. But my friends all expressed disappointment with it. We also did not experience any rude behavior on our cruise. I thought a number of things were better than when I last cruised two years ago. The food quality had improved and the adult entertainment was better. Pirate night was alot of fun, even though it was crowded we still had a good time at the party. We arrived after second dining so we were able to see the show without a long wait. Pirate night was new 2 years ago and I can see how they have now made this into a main event on the cruise. I did manage to get my picture take with Jack Sparrow on Pirate night.

When I am on vacation, I usually just go with the flow and things do happen at times that are perfect, but I tend not to dwell on them. Some people are like a dog with a bone and just don't let things go and let the little things ruin their vacation. Life is to short for that.

Nancy, my sentiments exactly! Life IS too short and we all have many blessings to be thankful for. :)

Welcome Nancy....glad you joined us.

Mike/JoAnn - we also welcome you to our thread - you and your boys will have a great time on Disney. I'll be interested to hear how DCL 'stacks up' to RCI.

This sounds a lot like us. We had an awsome cruise and met some great new friends. Food seems to be getting better and we had great entertainment (Taylor Mason, John Charles, Freddie fusion and the band was NTWINE....they were ok) We also forgot about the CC reception as we were hanging out at the adult pool. We had great weather except for Friday night we had an adventure with 15 foots seas. It was interesting to watch but we had doors slamming, hangers banging and the ship sounded like it was ready to snap in half.

We have 1 cruise before this one.....DW and I decided to do a 4 day for our 20th anniversery with no kids.

Welcome to the new follks :goodvibes

Welcome, welcome to all our new comers! :sunny:

All I can say is "WOW" to the 15 foot waves. That would be kind of cool, but a little nerve racking too. My mom was on a Disney cruise a couple years ago in January and she said that they had 15 to 20 feet waves too. She said that they closed down the pools and that they had big waves themselves.

~Have a good evening everyone! :)

D'Isigny - It was our 3rd cruise and by far the best the Double Dip was fantastic. Over on the Trip report Forum I have a TR called Oct 06 double dip. There are pictures from it and some really cool ones and some funny ones too. The one thing I can say about it. If they(DCL) have it and you can swing it, SWING BABY!

BigBen--- You must have been on the same cruise I was on the 10/14 double dip. I was with the large group of CruiseOctoberfest people. I will have to read your trip report.

XLT800--- So were there alot of people seasick from the 15 feet waves?

Nancy

PDF - That was the cruise I was on and want to double again.

I heard of some people from DIS that did get sick but the rough seas were late at night, then we got off the ship in the morning. I thought it was kinda neat. It freaked DW out some. She did not want to go on deck to see it, but she went because I did. The pools basically emptied themselves out.

a shark...you caught A SHARK!!!! :thumbsup2 Wow...what an fishing trip. What did they do with the shark?

Great trip report...loved all the photos...thanks for sharing...........k

D'Isigny - After I got it to the boat. The guide let it loose. That has to be the coolest thing that has happened to in a long time.

Jenmack - The real funny thing is that while I had the shark on the line and also later on in the fishing trip there were sharks around the boat in this one area. Well thats right where they were parasailing and the banana boat rides went right through. We had to laugh. The pharse was " You wouldn't be doing that if you knew what I knew".

Another good reason why I don't want to parasail. It is a really cool picture of the shark and enjoyed your trip report. The double dip was so much fun. Between the 2 sea days and the 2 stops at CC it was one of the most relaxing cruises that I have been on.

Remind me not go on the banana boats although they do seem fun. My older son wanted to parasail too. :)

I love the ocean though and I love to snorkel. I'm trying to convince my kids to do a snorkel excursion with us in St Thomas. Needless to say...I won't be sharing this little bit of info. :teeth:
