Kevin, in answer to your question about St thomas, St Martin & Castway Cay plans...

I'm pretty sure on Castaway Cay we are going to do the stingray adventure and then spend the rest of the time on the family beach.

St Thomas, I'm all about snorkeling.

St Martin, we are going to Orient Beach, but I think this time we are going on our own instead of thru Disney Cruise. Alot more economical I think. But, we are still debating on wether we will stop in Marigot. We didn't last time and I think it was you who said that it isn't really worth it.

Well, take care everyone! :sunny:

Hey Jen...we also loved Orient Beach and will prob return. Nan still talks about "the beach with the fluffy sand". Yes...St Marty (our little joke name for St Martin/St Maarten) is prob less expansive 'on your own'. Renting a car, making pre trip arangements with a tour guide/company, or just walking to the taxi stand and negotiating for a specific tour/trip is a great way to see/'do' the island. We joined up with another family (paul) to fill a van for about $25 per person...FOR THE WHOLE DAY. We requested a specific tour to; the butterfly farm, Marigot and Orient beach...then back to the ship (lunch and change of clothes - Nana was tired and did not want to finish). We finished the afternoon on 'Little Bay beach' and some shopping. At ever stop...our driver kept the van running with the a/c on. When we shopped, he stayed 5-6 stores 'ahead of us'...when we caught up with our driver, he put our packages in the van...and move another 5-6 stores ahead of us. This was great...we felt we had a driver/vallet for a very reasonable price.
Also...personally...we did not enjoy Marigot and will prob not return. In our experience, most of the outdoor vendors and indoor shopping mall attendants would not 'bargin' and were 'a little snotty'.

But with any luck I won't have to spend the WHOLE winter up here in Mass :D
Wishing you a smooth move and mild winter. An overnight train ride to Orlando...how incredable!!! Lucky you...closer to Micky's house.

Hope all of you have a great weekend!!!

I had started a thread for this cruise about 4 days ago. I couldn't find any thread for this date, but here I am. We just got back from a 4 night wonder on Oct. 19, 2006. We booked this cruise onboard the ship, for our first 7 nighter. I also have another family that we met while on the Disney Wonder who has been posting to the other thread I created. I will tell her to start posting to this one now as well, as I am not sure how or if I can combine the threads. Talk again soon.

Hello everyone! :wave2:

We are the other family that just got off the Wonder. We are so excited to be booked on this cruise for next year. It will be me, my DH, DD(8) and DD(6) and my mom. We are looking forward to seven days this time!

See you soon!

Forgot to Mention my name is Mike (DH) coming with my wife of 8 years and our 2 daughters; Nicole (8 at time of travel) and Kylie (5 at time of travel). Both sets of In Laws are traveling with us as well. We will all be on the 2nd floor not sure what room, the wife has that information in a secure place! We are just coming off of the Disney Wonder for 4 nights, couldn't resist booking for a 7 night next year. We are from Sunny Florida (Sebastian), where it is actually quite cool today, 52 degrees this morning. Look forward to meeting all of you!

Stephanie: How is the weather in Tennesee this morning?

WELCOME, Mdavison and sg4Disney!

How nice or should I say WONDERful to have just cruised on Disney. It's been a year for us and we still have to wait another year. Oh well, it's worth it! :teeth:

I'm glad you found our thread. It's been kind of slow going lately, but with school, work, and other activities I think we all get so busy.

I hope all is going well with everyone, have a great week!!! AND try and stay warm! :sunny:

Mike - The weather in TN is definately different than what we experienced last week. It was in the 30s this morning with frost on the ground. I think the forcast is calling for mid 50s this week for the high. My neighbors left on Royal Carib. yesterday from Port Canaveral. She called from the ship and said they had cancelled the Coco Cay beach day for today due to the weather. They told her they would try to stop there at the end of the week instead. I sure am glad we cruised last week. Our weather was beautiful.

I feel like I haven't checked in in ages! Well... I guess it has been ages!

Can I join the havn't checked in ages club?

Welcome to the new posters. Glad you found us.

Hate to rub it in but we leave in 3 days for our Eastern cruise. Not much planned. We do have a pretty good DIS group so it should be fun.

Dave

Hope this finds all well.

lookee here - lookee here....we have some now members....WELCOME!!!

Since we have some new friends and it's been a while since this subject has been brought up...here is some information on our 'off Dis web site'...if you've not joined...please look for the link at the end of this post.

On our past cruise, we grew to ~30 families participating on a DIS cruise thread. I’ve got some great memories as we had a blast!!! This group really needed a place to share data that The-DIS does not offer. We used Yahoo Groups and it worked wonderfully.
For our 07 cruise, I set one up through Yahoo Groups as a ‘closed site’ – i.e., a Moderator needs to ‘invite’ someone to participate. It would be my personal preference in keeping this a ‘closed site’. However, if ‘our group’ prefers, I can change this to an ‘open site’ allowing any/all with an internet connection to view the information we have added. I don’t want to dwell on the ‘horrors in the world’...just want to keep ‘our information’ as secure as we can – rant off.

This is an ‘off-DIS’ web site for us to share information (files – photos – polls – database – links...etc). It’s an amazing organizing tool that offers us free data storage (can’t get much better than that). Of course...they will offer links and banners (I call them Internet commercials) to ‘suggest’ you purchase goods/services from one of their vendors. However, you are under no obligation to review or purchase ANYTHING.

Should you want an invite to this site....click on the bleow link and include the e-mail address you want the invite to

Want an invite - click here for a seperate window - sending a message to my home/work e-mail address

You can always send me a PM, but this may take longer for me to get your request.

Finally....this site is not intended to replace The-DIS Cruise Thread...at all. It’s my hopes we can share information with each other...making our cruise and vacation planning easier.

Hi everyone!

It's been quite a while since I posted, things have been unbelievably busy. I'm just popping in to share some news....

The cheerleading team that I coach just won a bid to Regionals!!! So I'll be MIA again for a little while...hopefully we'll get through Regionals and make it to States!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

(Oh...and I'm the brunette coach on the right...)

Catch you guys again later!

Congrats to you Dana on making it to regionals! :cheer2: Here's a little pixie dust to make it to state. :tink: pixiedust:

XLT800, I'm jealous! :teeth: Have a MAGICal time. I hope the weather stays beautiful for you, too. :sunny: Can't wait to hear about it when you get back.

Kevin, You mentioned that you went to the Butterfly Farm in St Marten. How was it? Was it worth it and would you do it again? :)

this is a tough one. my girls enjoyed it...really liked looking at all the butterflys and fish. For Nan and I...it was just OK. All in all...am not sure it is really worth the time or the money (about $7 per person). Butterfly Farm is about 20-30 minutes away from the pier...toward Orient Beach (I think). It is really 'out in the middle of no where'...no relief from the heat and humidity. They have very limited facilities. Also...you'd need to arrange a rental or negotiate this when you arrange for transportation. I'd suggest saving the 1.5 to 2 hours and chose another activity.

Congrats!!!! hope you make it beyond State...and win WORLD!!!

Dave...hope you and yours have a great trip...wishing you safe travel & lifelong memories. Say 'HI' to Mickey for us :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Thanks Kevin.....we are leaving in a couple of hours to go to the Radisson.

Have a great week!

Hi gang!

Really trying to be a better DIS'er...I feel like I've been MIA for way too long on the boards.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great weekend. I hosted my first Halloween party this weekend, well, it was a Haunted Housewarming to celebrate my new house! It was a huge success...isn't that what it means when the cops are called... :rotfl2: We really weren't that bad...just a little loud I guess. :confused3 We did invite the neighbors...so not sure who was the tattle tail...hahaha

Dave...have a safe trip! :wave2: Let's just say that I'm a little jealous...looking forward to the end of this semester and a break. =)

Welcome to all the newbies!

And Thanks for all the congratulations! We've got Regionals this Saturday...I'm already nervous, but no matter what happens, we're so proud of the girls. We're going a little nuts this year on the team gifts and stuff because we want them to know how proud we are of them and how special they are. We're doing a pizza party at practice tomorrow night...I'm designing posters for them that will highlight the season, I'm also making a photo DVD for them of the season (tear jerker), and for the Seniors, we're making pillows...ironing on a photo of just the seniors together and having the underclassmen sign the backs of the pillows. We're also bringing a cake for them to have after they perform this Saturday. So we're going a little overboard, but they're worth it! =)

I'll try to share pics from the Halloween party soon.

Happy Monday! Have a great day! :Pinkbounc

DD was a pirate for Halloween, she can wear the costume again on the cruise. Will anyone else participate in Pirate night on the cruise?pirate:

I have a few friends who are rum afficionado's...so I've been introduced to a few very yummy rum concoctions...looks like the Pirates have the right idea! I just can't imagine not participating. :)

My DH & I rebooked for this cruise while on the 10/14 Magic. Even my DH dressed for pirate night as did everyone at our table.
