October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Welcome Newbies!

BigBen: Loved the trip report and the photos. Really makes me long to be on the cruise, it's just been way to long since my last cruise.

Good to know about the sharks though...I went on the Banana Boat the last time I was at CC, and loved it...although, had I known Jaws was just waiting for an appetizer, I might have stayed off the banana! :rotfl2:

Well, things with the Cheerleaders are winding down. We went to Regionals, had a blast, placed 12th out of the 16 teams that made it to regionals...which in the grand scheme of things, isn't bad. The girls were just thrilled for the experience, so it was all worth it. Although, being in charge of 26 teenage cheerleaders makes for a very exhausting day! A friend of mine said it's great practice for when I'm a mom someday... :rotfl: A couple more weeks of cheer stuff to finish out the season, a month or so left with classes this semester...then I can breathe a sigh of relief and get a break.

Glad to see everyone's keeping the thread going and that we're getting new additions to the group! :grouphug:

Have a great night...I'm off to class... :moped:

Congratulations to your cheering leading squad. Just getting to Regional would be a wonderful accomplishment. I haven't read all through this thread, but from your comment I gather you must be the coach. So what age group is this cheerleading squad?

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Thanks! And yes, I am the coach...or at least one of them. One of my good friends and I coach the squad together. It's a high school competition team, so ages 14 - 18. It's really a blessing, these girls keep me young! :cheer2:

There's a photo of us when we won at Districts to move onto Regionals on one of the previous pages.

I'm still a little swamped with cheer stuff right now. We have an end of season party we're throwing the girls next Sunday, at which we plan to give them one of their gifts. I'm making a DVD slideshow of photographs taken throughout the season. Then on the following night, we have their sports banquet, where we will give them another gift...a poster I'm designing with the help of a friend, kind of like what you'd see an NFL team have for Superbowl...hahaha...we're really spoiling them. And to top things off, we're making pillows for the Seniors as gifts that will have a photo of all the seniors on the front and "wishes" from the underclassmen on the back. I've somehow got to get all this accomplished while working and going to school...hahaha... :rotfl2:

But it'll be worth it!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hope all is well w/ everyone and that you all had a great weekend. :sunny:

Well, I'm off to the dog park. :dog2: :dogdance: pug: :dog: :goofy: paw: :teeth:

Hi All - I can't begin to read all 300 posts, but would love to "meet" every one of you. We just got back from 10/14/06 Western double dip (first cruise ever), and I'm super close to booking the 10/13/07 Eastern - but just for myself and DS16 (17 at cruise time). He had such a great time, he wants to do another cruise before he turns 18. I "owe" him a one-on-one trip (I've taken other DS to WDW 3 times one-on-one). We'd talked about Italy, but he loved the cruise so much he says he'd rather do that instead.

This leaves me basically a solo cruiser - if it's anything like last trip, I'll hardly ever see him (kind of defies the point of a one-on-one trip with your kid, doensn't it?) Oh well, that's OK - more time to sit on deck four with a book, lounge by adult pool, on the adult beach on CC..........

Except - I just HAVE to do Palo's brunch again, and it just wouldn't be as enjoyable alone. And since DS will only be 17, he won't be able to join me. Any other ladies out there who would like to meet for Brunch?

LisaB

LisaBi - :welcome: I was on the Oct DD with you. What a great cruise and we booked onboard. I'm already for Oct 13th to get here. I have a Trip report name Oct 06 double dip on the other forum.

Welcome LisaBi! :sunny:

I finally saw Pirates of The Caribbean 2 last night. It was a little dark, but I liked it. I can't wait to see Pirates 2! pirate:

Have a good week everybody! :)

I'm doing the; it's only 11 months from today dance    anyone else? After putting the deposit down well over a year ago this seems like a big mile stone to me. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Jen - You just saw it ?! I loved it! the end cofused me for a while till I went back and watched POTC Curse of the black pearl. Then it cleared it up for me. Having Barbosa come back was the cliffhanger they needed. To Cool.

Jen I am having some problems getting here to post. WHen I find the time I guess the board must be busy because the pages won't load a lot of the time.:confused3
Its been better the last couple of days.

Dana--- I found the picture. What a nice looking group of young ladies and their coaches. Sounds like you will be busy with activities for a few more weeks.

LisaBi--- I was also on the double dip on 10/14. Glad you enjoyed Palo's brunch. I wasn't able to get reservations either on line or while on the ship.

Didn't realize it was only 11 months to go.

I picked a cold up somewhere so for the past couple of days haven't been doing much. I usually go to the gym 4 times a week, but haven't been there since Sat. I hope today I can make it.

Have a Magical day everyone.

I know, I know, I JUST saw it! Actually my oldest son saw it when it first came out so I already new about Barbosa and about Elizabeth kissing Jack Sparrow. I bet because POTC 3 comes out in may they will probably be playing it on the Magic when we go. Hopefully I will have seen it before then. :teeth:

Bev, I have had trouble before too. Sometimes it will say server is busy. :)

Minnesotamouseketeer, 11 months is exciting. I too booked this cruise almost a year ago and it seemed sooooooooo far away. I can't wait til our count down is in the single digits. :Pinkbounc

Okay, so I have about a week and a half and then I can start looking at the airlines. I can't wait!

Have a great day! :sunny:

Okay, had to post this...

While I was posting my last mesage our 7 month old puppy got into the feather duster and there were yellow feathers all over the house and hanging out of his mouth. When I chased him to get what was left of it from him he took off with the remains and went under the bed.
Needless to say, it was definetly an AFV moment. I keep telling myself "gotta love him." :lovestruc pug: paw:

P.S. Nancy, I hope you feel better. :goodvibes

I think AFV is America's Funniest Videos

Cute story about the dog.

Nancy
Thanks!
<Bev who doesn't get to watch much television>:happytv:

Yes, it is America's funniest videos. We sometimes (if we have time or remember) watch AFV and Extreme makeover-Home Edition. That way we get a good laugh, then a good cry. We have to balance things out you see. and as my "baby" sister likes to say..."Goodtimes, Goodtimes." :teeth:

Anyway, today I'm still finding stray yellow feathers. :)

Well, have a good Wednesday everyone! Today I'm going shopping! :goodvibes

:rotfl: thanks for the laugh....

Hope all are doing great...glad to see we've passed the 11 months...anyone else waiting for flights????
