October 13, 2012--Magical Galveston Cruise!!!

Thanks Jenny for all your help I am new to all this "forum" stuff. I tried to get my 16yr old to help but she was already asleep last night. I did email you my information hope to hear from you!:thanks:

I got your email and I've emailed you back! :thumbsup2 Just ask away if you have any questions - this is a great, friendly bunch!

The Magic has pulled out heading this way
Dena

Good job on being the eagle eye there Dena! I managed to catch her on the NY Harbor webcam as she was leaving. Hard to believe after all this time of waiting she is finally on her way to Texas!! :dance3: I have to admit to being ridiculously excited!! :cheer2:

 I've got the nervous excitment going. Another milestone passing, with the Magic heading this way.
Dena

By the time I got to the webcam she was moving pretty quick...looked like she was as anxious to get here as we are to see her! :rotfl2:

The couple of times that I have been able to catch the Magic leaving port in New York, they move at a pretty good clip through the harbor.

Just checked and she has made somewhat of a southward turn, and slowed down.

Thanks for posting this. I wonder if that's out scheduled arrival time but we'll be earlier? Seems late to me too.

Just checked the reservation (did they change up the web site? ), and the itinerary has 2 columns with times: Guest Ashore, and then Guest Onboard. So we probably do arrive earlier, and the 8:30 AM in Galveston may be an estimate of when they anticipate folks will be able to leave (What! Who wants to leave??).Makes sense now - it used to say 4:30 departure in Galveston....now it is 3:30 PM Guest Onboard.

Ahhhh. 26 more days.!

Well looks like Mike might get to wear the jeans and nice shirt for causal nights, and we will have to regroup for Palo brunch, semi-formal and formal. Took his suit to the cleaners, something has been having a feast on it.:sad2: Small holes about the size of a straight pin head, aaallll over the jacket, the pants weren't that bad, might be able to get away with dress slacks and nice shirt and tie. :headache:

Well my dh paid for our cruise parking in galveston (pre-paid) and now I just have to get molly (our puppy dog) a kennel to stay at while were gone. We are splurging a bit on this cruise. We have a category R. So I really can't wait.

Great...don't you just love that!! He will be fine in dress slacks, shirt & tie :thumbsup2 don't worry too much about it.

I'm coming to stay in your room!! :rotfl2: I hope it is wonderful - please take lots of pics!!

Meet up will be at 3 pm on the first day (Saturday) in the Promenade Lounge which is on Deck 3, aft, between the Lobby and Parrot Cay. I hope that people can make it. It will be just a short "Hi, who are you?" :rotfl2: as we will all need to be at muster drill at 3:45 pm. I'll try and get there closer to 2:45 pm and make sure the drinks taste good!! party::drinking1. :thumbsup2

The FE list is officially closed. I will add new people that would like to join as an "Optional" cabin at the end of the list. The list will be completely closed at midnight on 9/27 - meaning there will be no optional cabins added after 9/27.

I will have a white board on our stateroom door (6620) for any last minute changes to the FE list cabins - I know that some people may be trying to get upgrades at the port. :goodvibes I will also have some extra FE cabin lists and maps with me at the Meet up.

I think that's all the housekeeping stuff taken care of - am I missing anything? :upsidedow

Wow! So much has been happening! I just finished a deadline at work :faint: and finally got to read through all the previous posts.

Jenny, that's a great idea to do a meet up. The husband and I will be there!

Welcome to the new cruisers! :wave2: I made a few extra FE gifts, so you're covered. I'm glad that they won't go to waste.

Husband pulled out all his old diving gear over the weekend and started his little 'to pack' pile next to mine. Looks like I'm not the only cruise-crazy person in the house anymore! :rotfl:

Hi Deanna just wondering were did DH go Prepay for parking? That sounds like a timesaver. :scratchin

DW and I are so looking forward to the cruise. It has been a couple of years and we miss it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Frakenweenie the movie is coming out on Oct 5th. I am pretty sure that it will be one of the movies on the cruise.

If your parking at the Galveston park and cruise you make your reservation on line, and at the end it requests payment, and that's where you pay I :scratchin think we did indoor parking and it was $65 for the week. This garage is suppose to be directly across the street from the terminals.

We found the website on the Galveston cruiseline web cam site.

Great! Thank you. One more thing I can check off my long to do list before we set sail and party:

Morning everyone! 25 days until we are standing up on that top deck waiting for the sail away party! :cool1:

I'm sending out another FE list this morning with the 2 optional cabins added at the end. :thumbsup2

I really hope that we can find/make some time to see a couple of movies on this trip. We've only ever made it to one (out of 3 cruises) as we just find we are WAY too busy doing nothing to actually MOVE and get to the theatre. :rotfl2: There are a couple of movies that should be playing that I want to see though so maybe that will be enough motivation. :)

This weekend we are going to Galveston to see the Magic come in, or at least sail away, as it looks like she's coming in about 5:30 am (pitch dark). It will be so neat to actually have her close enough that I could skip on down to Galveston on any given Saturday and wave to everyone that goes by. Kind of like Fishlips in Port Canaveral, but Texas style with a cooler and a fold out chair! :rotfl:

Good Afternoon Jenny

I did not receive an updated FE List did you email? Just wondering:confused3

Does anyone know how the dining works? I would like to make a reservation to Palo but I do not want to miss our first AP dinner so not sure what day to schedule Palo.

My daughter lives in Deer Park and she is also looking for a kennel for her dog Reagan. Although not sure what she is going to do since Reagan is her life and she has visited several different kennels with no luck she says they are not good enough for her Ray-Ray :worship: If she wasn't so big she would probably try sneaking her on board. :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry Meliza!! :rolleyes1 Because I had emailed you separately yesterday, I forgot to add you into the group - I've added you now and you should have an email. :thumbsup2

You won't know your dining rotation until you get on board, but it's safe to say, if you book something Tuesday or later, you won't miss you AP night. They will rotate you through the three dining rooms first before you repeat, so no matter what, you will have done AP by Monday night. :thumbsup2 A couple of nights that you might care about are Pirate night on Tuesday and Captain's Gala (Lobster night) on Thursday (semi-formal) - just in case you weren't aware of them. :goodvibes

OK, I will say that Molly is my life also. I have been asking around about kennels here in Arkansas. I need to go and visit them. When I booked the cruise, we did not have an inside dog but now we do. All my dog sitters are going with me. Molly is just a puppy and has only been to a kennel for daycare while we were at Disneyworld. I understand your daughter worry. I hope that she finds a place. Deanna
