Alright folks, I guess I really like to plan ahead, I just bought our airline tickets for the cruise!

Hey Erika! I've been watching the fares out of MSP.What did you end up with?

Welcome to all the new cruisers! Wow, there are sure a lot od Disers on this cruise - should be a lot of fun...

I would love to be able to buy our plane tix now, but we usually fly with SWA and they are not available for purchase that far out yet. Next Cruise related job for me is our passports...We have never gotten any at all and I feel safer having them just in case and also it will be easier in the future to already have them on hand when the rules change that they are required...I am only concerned that the five of us can get them now, but I will have to scurry to get one for our newborn after his/her arrival in early June...Hopefully, expedited service is truly expedited!!!

Before I start working on any other cruise jobs, I get to deal with a quick WDW trip we just booked for Feb 7th for 5 nights! It will be our first trip "back home", as we will be staying at a DVC resort (OKW) for the first time!! :thumbsup2 :cool1: Can't wait to enjoy Disney without the oppressive heat we dealt with in August....Wowee, was it scorching! If we need coats this time, oh, well, I can handle that just fine!

I think we will also use up some DVC points for before and after the cruise as well...We were thinking about travelling down to Florida on the Thursday before the cruise, stay two nights and then staying over the Saturday after the cruise as well. Being that the weekend of the cruise departure is Columbus Day weekend, I believe, I would rather fly in on Thursday than on that Friday...

Happy Sunday all!

Hello all,
We just booked our FIRST cruise tonight. Myself, my dh, dd(6) and ds(8) will be joining you all and we just can't wait. We live in Canada and this cruise is during the Canadian Thanksgiving so the kids miss less school. My hubby is Cdn Prince Charming and I am sure he will be posting here as well to get to know everyone.

Looking forward to it, I have a lot of reading to do.

:goodvibes

Welcome Belle1627! Great to see more Canadians join us. Especially from the GTA. We used to live in Ajax up until 2 1/2 years ago nd then we moved to Stouffville. We lived in south Ajax, right at the border of Whitby.
We are travelling with 2 other families. One from Bowmanvlle with DS (10), and the other from the Beaches (no kids). We have a DD (12) and one on the way in January. This our second cruise. We had so much fun on the first we came home and recruited more Canadians for the second.
Were flying out of Pearson on the friday before and staying at the Hyatt in MCO. Probably doing the Magic Kingdom the day before the cruise. Congrats on booking and hopefully were all flying down together. Our last cruise, the only Canadians we could find were staff.

Hello! Welcome aboard! I love seeing all the children. My DD will be 10 when we sail. Our first cruise was in Sept. and there were very few children on board.

I just need to know were you on the Magic or the Wonder and what was your sail date. We just got back from our 5th cruise. We were on the Magic 9/8 -9/15.

Welcome. You will not reget it. DCL is the best. Looking forward to getting to know you and meeting you next year. Lois

I know a lot of folks on our last cruise stayed at the Raddison at the port the night before if that helps at all....They have a free shuttle over to the port......

What airlines do you fly usually?????

We usually fly with Air Canada but we are looking to see which one will be getting there earlier. We really don't want to get in late since we have little ones with us, plus we would love to do some shopping the day we get there. We were looking into Country Inn or Residence Inn. I never thought of the Raddison. I'll look into it and see what there like. thanks for the suggestion!:thumbsup2

P.S. my turkey isn't showing up?

Thank you all for the WELCOMES!!!! We are so excited about the cruise. We are in South Ajax as well, just a couple minutes from Rotary Park, we love it here. Born and raised in Toronto though. My dd will be 7 yrs and my son will be 9 when we cruise. We love all things Disney so it just seemed logical to do the Disney Cruise. We generally fly out of Buffalo with SWA, we find YYZ so expensive to fly out of. We haven't decided yet what else we are doing. We know we want to stay at WDW(maybe after the cruise) and go to a MNSSHP, we would also like to go to Vero for a couple of days (maybe before the cruise) We loved Vero Beach. We are still trying to figure it all out.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Gina

WELCOME to all the new cruisers! This is just going to be SO much fun!!

Gail, I got your PM! Can't wait to meet you! Have you thought about flying out of Huntington? Now with Allegiant, we can fly, non-stop into Sanford for just $60 per person, one way. It's GOT to be cheaper then driving! We flew in June and it was so easy! Nothing like busy Orlando Airport. If you are worried about having too much stuff, why not ship a box to the port! It will be waiting for you in your stateroom when you get there! If it's stuff you need to send back, there is a place to repackage and send it back home!

Our plans...as of now....

Fly in Thursday night...it will be late since Allegiant doesn't land until nearly 8pm. Rent a car. Stay at Pop Century.

Friday....go to the Magic Kingdom for the day. Maybe DownTown Disney in the evening, swim in the pool. We thought about doing MNSSHP, but it would end so late, and I am sure we'll want to get a good night's rest!

Saturday...drive to port, drop off rental, RELAX!!!

On return....Saturday, rent car and..either check back into Pop Century, OR check into Hard Rock. We'll either do MGM or USO. It would cost more for the Hard Rock, but the park costs are about the same.

Sunday, fly home. Flight leaves in the afternoon, so we'll have time to either do DTD or just relax a bit.

I would love to do a Holiday Card exchange!

Won't buy Air Line tickets until after we get our tax return! LOL We'll pay off the cruise then too!

Have to get passports for the boys and I. Steve has one that he just renewed. We are going to wait until after Colton turns 13 in February. Then, if we have our facts right, it will be good for 5 years, which takes him to his 18th Birthday, and he can then get an adult passport. If we had done it now, his child pp would have to expire and he would have to reapply for an adult one.

I think I've covered everything! LOL

Enjoy your day!!

First of all, it's taken me days to read this entire post! I feel like I know all of you already!
I have been planning this cruise for over a year now - saving for it to book it first of all. I'm getting the check sometime within the next week or so from the Christmas Vacation Club. This is how I pay for our vacations each year. :) I have not figured out just yet how I'm going to book the cruise; and now that I've read this thread, I was wondering if I could use that fabulous TA all of you have been using for the group.
This is the first of many questions. Though I've learned a lot already from here. We are so excited. The cruise is on my mind day and nite. I even spend a lot of time at work daydreaming about the cruise.
I also realize by reading this thread that I do not have enough posts yet to get to the Website and/or list. Please let me know what I can do about seeing those.
I hope all is well with all of you!

We were virtually neighbors a few years ago. We lived in the new sub divison Laeside by Tribute. We normally fly from Buffalo as well, but we found with DCL the price flying from Pearson is fairly close and most important thing we liked was included the bus transfers from the airport to the ship and return. Plus if you fly same day as the cruise and you have booked flights with DCL (or TA) they are responsible in getting you to the ship if for any reason your flight get delayed or cancelled. The price from TO return thru DCL is about $450 pp. The best deals I could find out of Buffalo was thru JetBlue at about $300-$400 pp.
We did the MNSSHP this year and it was totally amazing. Were going to going to do it again for sure. Hopefully the friday we arrive before we sail.
There is lots time and there's plenty of people thru the disboards that can answer many of the questions you can think of. The disboards folks have helped us out a ton.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Poor Hanna had a terrible cough all weekend and is now on steroids and a nebilizer..UGH!!!!!!!I think school makes them more sick now than ever........

Kristin, we are right there with you! Colton has been sick 3 times so far this school year! I told him, wash, wash, wash, and QUIT DRINKING FROM THE WATER FOUNTAIN! Ugh!! Just the thought gives me the heeby jeebies! He's on his second cold and we had a bout of Strep in there too. The nebulizer is sitting on the kitchen table! He took his inhaler to school too. He's on his way to getting better, but it just stinks when they are sick.

A quiet weekend here. My house is a wreck as I just didn't feel like doing anything! Now I need to play catch up today! I also need to go over the lawn one more time! The rains are moving in this evening and tomorrow it will be an all day rain event, WITH a mix of snow possible! Can we leave for the Islands, NOW!?!?!

Have a Magical Monday!

Poor sick kids, I hope they all get better soon! Knock on wood, my kids have been very healthy the last few years! Alexa has an Honor Choir concert up north in 2 weeks, she'll probably get a cold right in time for that.

We have our first windchill day today, 42 for a high temp, but winds gusting to 50mph! What fun! Alexa doesn't even have a winter coat yet, I can't find her one that's warm enough and fits well. She's borderline too big for a girls coat (most of the ones we tried), but too small for a womans (and they cost twice as much!!!).

Possible to see a few snowflakes tonight they said, ICKY!!!! Won't accumlate but they might fly around. Man I hate winter.

Hi Erika! Thanks for the Welcome! This will be our first Disney cruise. My third cruise (RCC) and Heather's first ever. Heather will be 13 in July, and this cruise is her bday present. I couldn't pin down one for her bday, so we're going on her fall break; and we decided it might be a little cooler.

No one other than you has responded to me yet. From the posts I have been reading I can tell Carol is the one to go to! I'm patient, more like impatiently awaiting my Club Check to come so I can book this trip. I've been saving for a year for it. We love everything Disney and cannot wait to go on this cruise.

Good morning Sandy! Welcome to you! I know you are waiting for your check to come in before booking the cruise, but you may want to be in touch with Carol sooner than later. We have a new "arrival" coming in June and I recently called Carol about a possible cabin change. Our revised request was unavailable. The inventory seemed to be thinning out quite a bit and I also noticed that our cruise is one of the discounted listings in the Dreams Unlimited offerings (Carol's pricing is better, though!), so that could make room selections a bit tighter...Just a thought that you may want to start the process with Carol (pricing, names, etc.) soon and then you can just call her with the deposit when you are able to? Good luck and Happy Monday! :goodvibes

I just sent you Carols info, can't wait to meet you next year!

Ericka, I got your message, but the email address did not show up (?) for some reason. Would you mind sending it to my work email? at fry@rabbittlaw.com. (I'm hoping this shows up!)
On a side note, it sounds like its quite chilly up there today. I think its heading our way. 62 today, but only 40 tomorrow... I really do not like winter. I'm more of a summer/tropical girl myself!

Good Morning Sandy. I do know that a few others have also contacted Carol so she may be swamped with some requests. I spoke with her a few days ago and are cruise was getting close to selling out..>WOW!!!!!!!But I am sure she will work her magic and get you what you want she is GREAT. I can not wait to see all of the surprises she has in store for all of us.

Michelle,
I am soo sorry that you have been dealing with the sickness too. Funny you should say that about the water fountains I told mine no drinking from them ever. I send them with a water bottle if they need it and even bought juice boxes for the class last week. I am sooo tired of them being sick. Had to give Hanna a neb treatment at four am this morning. I want a full nights sleep for once.

Hope everyone has a GREAT Monday and a Great week. Our kids have school off Friday for teacher in service and then Monday off tooo so I need to get all of my stuff done in four days.

Welcome. I agree the sooner you get a hold on a room the better. It is $250.00 per person so if you can front that money call Carol and book it now. The cruise does not need to be paid off until next summer some time. Glad you are planning on joining us. Lois

Lois is soo right plus if you have or open a Disney Visa you can get 0% for 6 months plus the reward dollars which you can use on the cruise as well.

Lois, did you end up booking with Carol tooo??????We have soo many in our group now this is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
