Hey Kristin!
Got home today from camping and the passporter was waiting for me!! That was so kind and generous of you to send it to me. It has such informative info in it. I absolutely can't wait for this cruise. I can't go one day without talking about it!!!!!!!!!!

Lynda

Thank goodness my kids don't start until after labor day!!!! But they didn't get out until the 8th of June either. Mine start high school and middle school this year, yikes!

The house is beautiful, the beach at the house is not safe for swimming, the waves are high and rough. We can walk there and get our feet wet, but not swim. We went to a different beach this morning, and they were still pretty rough. Everyone had fun though, and I bought 3 necklaces from a beach peddler LOL. Then dh and I went into Cabo San Lucas downtown and strolled through the flea markets and spent a bunch of cash at their upscale shopping mall. I had to buy SPF swim shirts for the kids, $35 a pop, cuz they are both sunburned. Also had to buy hats for 3 of the 4 of us. Mine was $45, which to most people may seem cheap but it sounds high to me. It's a straw style with a scarf on it, really cute! It will then be put away safe and sound for next years cruise!!!!!! I'm praying the kids swim shirts still fit next year also, since they would never use them at home for any reason. Also had to buy a couple of Cabo t-shirts of course too LOL.
Tensions are running high here, a clash of the rich lifestyle attitude and the working class. My BIL is a piece of work, and it's been tense. My SIL was chugging a margarita cuz it's so tense. They actually just left to go to dinner and it's 8pm, rather than eat with us, because he thought the meat we were grilling wasn't very good. And he uses the F word constantly around my kids (and his 2 1/2 year old), which bothers us, and he was calling airline employees "monkeys" and "chimpanzees". So nice!
Tomorrow they are treating us to a boat ride for snorkeling and stuff, I sooooooo hope dd and I don't get sick. We've never been on a boat on the sea, and this will NOT be a cruise ship LOL. There was a Carnival ship in port today when we went to town. Its the first cruise ship I've ever seen in person. It was cool!
Oh dear, am I rambling?????????? Sorry, can you tell I've talked to no one but family in 3 days????

We still want to find Sammy Haggars Cabo Wabo in town, and I want to take the kids to the flea market to see the non-rich peoples Mexico. I bought a bobble head turtle for a friend today from a really old lady sitting on a side walk. What a way to live. It was only $1 too, she could have gotten at least $2.
Oh the weather, it is stinkin' hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were dripping today at the flea market. I know it's upper 90's and it's humid most of the time also. It's nice though. Evenings are beautiful. And last nights bed was like heaven compared to that sleeper sofa.

Erika,

Sounds like you had fun shopping today at least. Hopefully, the rest of your stay will get better.

At least you have the internet so you can talk to all of us...LOL!!!

Can't wait to hear about the boat ride.

Your hat sounds AWESOME!!! So do the shirts for the kids...They will be put to good use for the cruise..

My girls will be going half day. Some around us are full day but we are not yet.

I am actually pulling them out for the cruise too. That weekend they will have Monday off for Columbus Day and this year they have that Friday off too so I am hoping for the same next year too. We have a break now in Feb. and in April. This school year I am pulling them out in late Sept. to go to WDW.
What grade is your daughter in again????

That sounds great! I bet you will have lots of fun. My girls are in 10th and 12th grades. By the time of the cruise, my 12th grader will be out of school and my 10th grader will be in 11th. We decided to have this big vacation with them before they can't go with us any more. They haven't been anywhere on the east coast so they are really looking forward to this.

I hope the rest of your trip is better. That sounds like a great hat! Good luck with your BIL. Hopefully he will calm down so that you can enjoy yourselves.

Your girls are going to love the cruise. They will love all of the stuff they will have for them to do.
They will also love Castaway Cay too......

Hey everybody,
I made it back from Hotlanta! 100 degrees is hot in rural Alabama, but it seems hotter in the city! There were 16,000 women at the conference. We saw Beth Moore, Sandy Patty, Nicole C. Mulllen and lots of other speakers. The boys survived and now its time to get in the swing of school again!
The first couple of weeks usually tires me out as much as them.
Carmen

Carmen, I'm glad you enjoyed your conference. Good luck with school. I hope everything goes smooth for you.

Carmen,

Sounds like your conference was great. Good luck with school!!!!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!:)

Thanks Candy,

We hung out in our pool and enjoyed the nice weather.

Getting ready to leave Friday for a week at the beach in Cape Cod. Mass.......

That sounds great Kristen!! I hope you have lot's of fun! You'll have to tell us all about it.

Thanks Canyd,

We are staying at a new place this year. So we will see.

Erika,

Thinking of you and hoping you are having fun.........

Checking in with everyone!! I love reading all the posts everyone makes even though I do not respond to everyone. When I read someone posting I think what it will be like to meet everybody and what a great cruise we are going to have. I always say a prayer if someone needs one, think good thoughts about school starting or just enjoy the updates!!

My kids started back to school today. Where did the time go? Our break was even a week longer than normal. I cannot believe dd is in 4th grade and my ds is in 1st.It is about to get hectic for us with all of the school and after activites. It is nice to be back on a schedule though. (except for having to get up early and the long drives to and from school) DD is on a competitive dance twirler team and that keeps us very involved.

Is anyone coming to Disney anytime soon? What about other trips planned?

It is still very hot!! We are close to 100 every day. I hope we can get our pool in by next summer.

Jennifer,

So glad to hear from you. It is neat hearing about what everyone has been up to..Will be neat when we all meet in person..
How did the first day of school go for your kids???
We are going to WDW in September toward the end.
I hope we get hot weather when we are there.

Sorry guys, I only have time to skim through the posts, so I'm not ignoring anyone.
Well, the boat ride was a bust for me and dd, we both got sea sick. No hurling, but as close as physically possible, so that 3 hours was horrible, I couldn't wait for it to end.
The BIL situation also got worse, I'll go into detail when we get home.
Had a great dinner though at The Office where the whole place is in the sand!
Both BILs went deep sea fishing today and we went to this funky little place that cooks up your fish you catch, and as soon as we got there dd starting feeling sick, so she and I left and missed a great fun dinner that everyone is raving about, so that totally sucks. It will be another great reminiscing story I am left out of when the family gets together.
Gotta go, see you all later! Tomorrow is the last day.

Jennifer,
We are so glad to here from you! Sounds like it's going to be a busy time for you with school and other activities. Good luck.

I can't wait to meet everyone! That will be great!
We don't have any plans to go to WDW, but we live about 40 minutes from DL so we are at least going there a few times. I just love DL. I have never been to WDW. I'm sure I would love it even more there.

Erika,
I hope the rest of your trip is better. Just think, you will be talking about this trip for years. We took a trip to Lake Mead with our RV trailer and boat, so many things went wrong that trip. We ended up leaving the lake early and going somewhere else, and as we left we ended up getting stuck for hours. Everything that could have gone wrong on that trip went wrong. That trip was about 17 years ago and we still talk and laugh about it:rotfl2: . That is the trip we talk about the most. It wasn't funny then, but it is now.

Erika,

I am so glad you posted!! I have been woriied about your snorkling trip ever since you posted you were going. I am so sorry you and Alexa got sick.

I emailed you to check on you. :)

Have a safe journey home!! (hugs for the bil mess)

We are planning WDW in Oct.:thumbsup2 We've never been to the food & wine festival.

We also have a camper trailer story. It was this past May. It was our first time taking the camper out so we chose a campground at a state park 30 minutes from here. Well, all five of us had gotten a stomach virus by the 2nd day! Think about how small those bathrooms are!
We'll always remember that trip too!
By the way we left the camper and came home. We returned for it later.:rolleyes1
