Greetings Parrothead Pirates!
I’ve been reading and lurking. DW and I took our two nieces to Gatlinburg for the weekend. (You will see them on the cruise) We usually go 2 or 3 times a year. Usually in the spring and summer, then sometimes, New Years. It’s not Disney World, but it will do for now. We went to WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge, minus the dinner show … Not bad, but I wouldn’t do it again. However, it was about 10 degrees cooler in the mountains than it has been here.
Back to cruising….On our first trip on the Magic in October 04, I happened to find a rum soaked cigar in St. Thomas that I really liked. I haven’t been able to find one like here in the states. (No, it’s not a Cuban!) So periodically, I order some from them. They always send 2 or 3 magazines in the box they come shipped in. In a recent shipment, I got a magazine called St.Thomas – St. John This Week - Your guide to America’s Paradise. I realize this is a “tourist” magazine, but it has event schedules, transportation schedules and fees, island maps, restaurant, shopping, attraction info, and maps among other things. And of course, they have a website. It is www.stthomasthisweek.com. (Hey Kristen, I know you are busy getting ready for a trip, but you might want to add this one to the website when you get back) It might be helpful to pay attention to the October issue of this publication. It may have info on annual events that will be happening next year at that time. That’s it for now, more later!!

Just popping in to say HI!! and that I haven't left you all!! It's just been a crazy busy summer! I usually check in when the baby I sit for is sleeping in the morning, BUT he has taken to only one nap a day, about Noon, so my morning internet time is gone, so to speak. Once I get home at 3, I am getting my chores done at home and running my kids hither and yon!

I am glad to see we have some more new cruisers with us! Our son Colton is already obbsesing about this cruise......and it's over a year away! He has asked questions from where are our rooms located to where is the Island located, what are we going to do there, are we double dipping...no....what kids are going to be there....he just goes on and on! It's kind of funny since we have over a year to plan this still!

Watched Wild Hogs today. My gosh is that movie funny!!!

time to get my chores done!!!

Hi!

We just decided last week we are going to cruise again on the Eastern! We went in 2003 and loved it! We took our daughter who was 2 1/2 at the time and still talks about it until today. So, we decided our twin boys will be 4 by the time we cruise and it should be really fun.

I saw this thread has been going awhile, so I don't know everyone yet. I look forward to meeting all of you and not sure if anyone has kids the same age as mine.

We have 2 DS both the ages of your children, my oldest will be 6 and my youngest will turn 4 on the first day of our cruise. This will be our first cruise and we can't wait And there is plenty of time to get to know everyone.

We are so glad you're joining us. There are a lot of great people going on this cruise. And there are definitely lot's of kids the same age as yours. I have granddaughters who will be 4,5,7,and 8 at the time of the cruise. I know there are a few others with kids around the same age.

Welcome Aboard, Perchinske! This will be only our second DCL and we cannot wait! We enjoyed our first in December last year and found that 4 nights was just not enough! So, looking forward to October '08 along with 'ya!

Our kids will be DS10, DD7 and DS5 (just!) at the time of cruising...They are also looking very forward to the trip...We just bought into the DVC while in Disney a couple of weeks ago. As part of the introductory tour at SSR ("Home" to us!), the kids were all welcomed into the kids play clubhouse while we conducted business (a/k/a Took the plunge right on the spot!! ). Anyhow, when the kids were signed into the kids clubhouse, my DD6 exclaimed "Oh, goody! Just like the Disney Cruise!!!!" So, I don't think we will see much of our kids on the cruise in 2008, as they will all be older than our first cruise and will be spending alot more time in the kids' clubs I figure...

WE are home from a week in Cape Cod Mass. At the beach. It was wonderful sooo sad to be back home. Counting the time till we leave for WDW in less than a month now....


On a more serious note. I came home to this email from Dee and Don Young.

just to let you and the people on our cruise know; we here in abilene, tx are receiving large amounts of rain of storm (Erin) and the lakes are full with all the feeding creeks out of their banks and into many neighborhoods. So far water is about three blocks away from us but we have been alerted for possible evacuations. Hurricane Dean may come into parts of texas this week (middle or later) and could bring more rain. we have had over 12" of rain in last 36 hrs
cross your fingers and/or say a prayer for this area.

Just to let you all know(I've already emailed Kritter) we are fine now. Water has receded although we were spared; almost half of the city was damaged by flood waters and we still have some road closures around the area. We were advised but not mandatory to evacuate so we stayed in our home and took precautions such as furniture on blocks etc. The water came within two blocks of us so we were very fortunate. also hurrican dean went into mexico rather than into texas so we were spared additional water and winds from that.

We just bought 2 matching pirate costumes for our boys for this cruise, can't wait to get them . We bought them on ebay at a really great price. Now to find some for DH and myself.
