You deserve a day off just for that drive yesterday!! We used to do that all the time. I just can't do it anymore. It is 12 hours from here to the Port. We haven't driven it in one day since 2005. This year, it's a 1h 45m flight. That sounds even better!!! We wound up getting our own van so we are going to Margaritaville for lunch as soon as we can get out of the airport!!

We used to stop halfway and spend the night but decided against it. Having the portable DVD player for the kids allows us to set the cruise control and take it easy.
We took 13 hours to go but yesterday with the rain we hardly stopped so knocked an hour off and that was the cruise set to the speed limit.

I think they open pretty early I think around eight... So you should be able to buy it before you board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets just say a few years back my FIL and his BIL tried to get me by pointing to the cooler without any ice in it. The beers were not just warm, they were HOT. I never blinked. They just about fell over. LOL

LOL!!! We haven't decided if we are going to try to bring something or just fork over the dough on board. We'd have to buy it on Saturday morning, anyone know how early you can buy beer in Florida on a weekend? I don't even know where to get it. I should probably bring some rum or something though, to save those costs. But there are so many good looking fru fru drinks too, maybe I should just plan on a LARGE bar bill.

What are the speed limits?? The best I remember when we were there, the fastest I saw on a 4 lane divided highway was 100km or so....Am I remembering correctly???

Yup, 100km/h but that's about half the drive. Once you pass that it's an undivided 2 lane highway and the limit is 90 and that slows down to 70 or 50 depending on the size of the towns you pass.
