WOW Denise, that was a miracle to find the diamond. Glad it worked out for you.

Christine, I saw that too and thought of all you BFF's filling up the entire swim up area.:goodvibes

I dont swim but i love the idea of swim up bars and food service. I have done that with the grandkids before.:thumbsup2

Kathy

Great News on Pixie!!! Now we have to get Kathy better,....geez....

Don't worry mom, I'll monitor the drinking at the swim up bar---I'll keep a constant close up watch even if it takes me staying there all day and all night long. (until 1030pm which is usually my cruise bedtime). At home, 1am---where the fun is, 1030. Its a cruel world.

Just checking in.

Now that we've gotten our air fare to Barcelona I've be preoccupied with arranging our post Mediterranean cruise/Christmas weekend stay in Paris....so many cool things to see and do, but so little time.

Happy wednesday everyone,

Pixie kept me up until 2 a.m. trying ot get to her stitches after we removed the bandages last night. Then i had to be up at 6 to get the day started. Now I am really tired and still not feeling well. Mostly a headache.

Pixie is sleeping for now so I have a break from hving to be right there watching her.

Mutt, I knew you would step up and volunteer to be the monitor at the swim up bar. Dont let any one swim while intoxicated. You can be the designated swimmer for them:lmao:

Greg, have fun planning. In May we will start some serious planning for our next cruise. The kids will be world travelers when your done with the new 2 cruises.

Hi Christine:flower3:

Hi Denise, I know you'll be popping in soon:goodvibes

Where are all the other crusiers who have posted her??

We need more chatting to get aquainted around here:thumbsup2 Dont be shy, jump right in and post. We want to hear from everyone!!

nasty cold dreary day again today,

got to run, Pixie is waking up, here we go again:rolleyes1
No Pixie No Lick Pixie No dont chew on stitches Pixie!!

Those are my vocabulary words for the next few days:sad2:

Kathy

I just got back from yet another doctor visit. Looks like I'm having surgery next Friday. No one is 100% sure it will help, but at this point I'm willing to try anything to relieve the pain.

This should be interesting to see how much typing I can do with only one hand for a few weeks?! :rotfl2:

I sure hope it helps the pain. The meds for arthritis have such horrible side effects so maybe this will do the trick for you.

We still expect some posts. After all you still have 4 fingers, one thumb, 10 toes and one mouth that can hold a pencil to tape the keys with.:lmao:
They dont have to be long, just to say Hi and to let us know how your doing.:thumbsup2

Did they say how long until you can start using the hand that has surgery? 3 or 4 weeks? Physical therapy first?

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for you. You need to heal up before the cruise you have booked. I know its very close now.

Thanks Kathy.

The Doc says I won't be able to use my arm/hand for anything for at least 2-3 weeks.

He wanted to do surgery on both my arms at the same time, but I still need to feed myself...I couldn't exactly stop using them for the next 3 weeks.

Can you imagine not being able to use both your arms/hands for three weeks?

Yep, we leave in 56 days for the Caribbean and South/Central America. We're getting excited to leave. It will be a fun 12 days adventure. :cloud9:

I hope your able to get some sleep tonight. To bad you can't wrap pixies paw in something that tastes nasty, so she won't be tempted to chew on it.

Wish I was going with you. I would do anything to get out of here for a while.

Good luck on your surgery.

Morning everyone,

Greg , your very smart to only do one arm at a time 2 to 3 weeks is way too long to not be able to use both arms. Eating would be terriable and I dont know about you but finding someone to wipe my bottom at my age:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Thats not going to happen:rolleyes1

If it works good and helps your pain you can do the other arm after your cruise.

No rain here today. It's coming tomorrow.
Down in the 30's gain last night.

Pixie did really good last night. Today when she starts to lick her stitches i just say No lick and and she stops immediatley and then gives me that sad look. She is doing it a bit less often each day so it is getting better. Just a few more days. Monday morning is going to be here fast. I hope !!

I did get a bit more sleep last night which I am grateful for.

Have a great day everyone,
the weekend will be here before you know it.:thumbsup2

Not much going on here.....other than "drama at the office" all I have to say about this is.......it's childish, and I'm way to old for all this kids stuff.....
I'm not envolved , however, its effecting everyone!!

New carpet being layed tomorrow:woohoo: now I can get my family room back in order and my computer hooked back up.....
I'm still shopping for new furnitre, I really dont want to bring the old stuff back in....its a mess from Jack, dirty and full of dog hair.....:crazy2:

have a good one

Well my dog sitter just notified all their clients that as of March they will no longer be doing dog sitting.
So now I have to find a new sitter before may for our pay off date for our TA cruise or we wont be going.

I use Fetch Pet care and I know they have other sitters within a reasonable distance but the question is will their personalities work with my dogs personalities. They can clash. Its not as easy as it sounds to get a new sitter. I guess the next few weeks are going to be a lot of interviewing people, maybe in the Eugene area.

Wish me luck, I am going to need it!! Now my headache is back again.:sad2:

I wont start looking until next week after Pixie has her stitches out. I dont know my way around Eugene at all, so this is going to be fun. Ha Ha!!

Later all, Kathy

Well that sucks!

I hope your able to find a new sitter before it messes up your cruise plans. :thumbsup2

GOOD MORNING NANAHEADS,

Its back to raining again this morning.

I get really tired of the rain by the middle of winter.

Anybody have plans for the weekend?

I was going to visit my mom but I am still not feeling well and I dont want to take the chance of getting her ill. So I am staying home, hoping to get to feeling better soon.

Since I am home I told Greg to go ahead and go to his moms to paint the porch he added on. Once he does that all he has to do is lay the flooring and put stuff in it. Finally it will be done which means one more weekend after this one. He had hoped to get it all in one weekend but its just too much.

So it's me and the pups again this weekend. I hope they nap a lot so I can relax more. I need to shake this bug I have.

Back later and later and later all weekend long since I am alone all weekend;)

So somebody had better post !!!

Kathy

I'm here!

Kathy, I'll trade you your rain for my snow?

No plans for us this weekend. Just going to try and take it easy and not stress about my surgery on Friday.

All the pulling and bending the doctor did on my arms/hands the other day sure has made them hurt...more then normal!

I did buy a voice recognition program for my computer and it seems to be working well. It takes a while for it to learn your way of speaking. I never realized that back country Idaho (hick) was so hard to understand?!

I still have to add things manually now and then, but over all it has really helped. :thumbsup2

Chayce just called and said he forgot his lunch. He's going snowboarding right after school so I'd better run it up to him so he's got something to eat up at the resort.

Later.......

Anybody notice the messed up post numbers or is it just my computer?
The top of this page was #5 and its counting backwards down to 1.
This is page 19 so our count is much higher than that.
Thats a page 1 count.:confused3
Never mind, after I finished this post they were back to normal again???

I just got a scary call from my best friend.
She and her dad were up in the mountains at the pit picking up brass for extra money. ( the pit's where people go and shoot guns) They do this about every 3 months.

It has about 8 inches of snow there but the roads were good enough for their truck.

They spent all morning and got a lot of brass and decided to go back a different way which takes them to a nice country town called Estacada.
So they drove a few miles then went around a corner and hit deep snow that turned them off the road into a 2 foot ditch.
They couldnt get out no matter how hard they tried and no service on the cell phone up there.

They decided to walk out until they could get cell service instead of staying with the truck. I would have stayed myself until I ran out of gas to keep us warm.
Her dad is 80 and is in terrible health. He has had every heart surgery imaginable and has poor balance and congestive heart failure. She has MS but manages pretty good. She knew her husband would get home from work and be trying to find her.

So they walked in up to 2 feet of snow from 4:30 until just after 10:30 at night in 20 degree weather. he fell 20 times and she fell in a ditch once and was soaked from the mid thigh down to the feet so she was hurting pretty bad. She had agood layered coat on and gloves but they got wet, her dad didnt have a good coat or gloves.

About 8:30 she did manage to get through to a cousin and briefly told her where they were before losing servicea gain. They had a flashlight and a full moon which helped.
About 10:30 they saw head lights coming but it wasnt her husband instead it was 3 drunk men. She siad she was scared and so was her dad but they were in such bad shape they didnt care and got in the car with them.

They got a couple miles down the road and found her husband who drove them back home. He had called 911 and asked them to connect him with the 911 for the county they were in and they wouldnt do it! So he had no way to get them help. It was terrible. So he just took off driving to the area he thought they would be in.

They are ok but tired and sore today. That was truly a miracle they survived.
Next day a tow truck pulled the truck out of the ditch and it was ok too.

I bet they dont try that agin until summer!!

Kathy

Boy, they really were lucky!

Glad to hear they're ok. :thumbsup2

Janel and I are going out for dinner tonight and leaving the kids at home to eat pizza and watch movies.....I wonder what the house will look like when we get home? :lmao:

As long as its still standing up in one piece you'll be ok.:rotfl2:
I remember a few of those times. It was almost not worth going out when we had to clean so much when we got home:sad2:

Actually we made them clean so it wasnt too bad after the first couple of times. Of course the older 2 blamed everything on the younger 2 everytime.:rolleyes1 Our little :littleangel::littleangel:s.

Hope you have a great time.

Where is everyone today??

Happy saturday all,

Where is everyone?:confused3

Denise is probably working in her family room today.

Mutt is walking his kids.
Shell is chatting on facebook.
Christine is also on Facebook

Its too quiet around here people!!!:scared:

Kathy

Checking in,

Yeah, it was as bad as I thought.....Janel and I got home and it looked like a cyclone had gone through the house.

I made the kids stay up till midnight cleaning up the mess. They're still asleep.

Dinner was great other then the wait. We called ahead and made reservations and still had to wait about 45 minutes to get a table. We both had the prime rib and it was sooo good. :cloud9:

Not much going on today. I took a really strong pain pill last night and I'm still feeling wiped out this morning. :faint:
