We are also staying at CIS before the cruise...got the deal on Priceline. We have other family and friends staying at the MRI and another hotel down on Cocoa Beach ..I think International Palms...so we may spend the day at the beach.

Still trying to find airfare at a reasonable price...seems tough this year. We usually can get it on Continental for around $200 or so but nothing under $450 this time!!! Still looking!!

Well....finally got our airfare...still not happy with the price but at least we got it for under $450!!! Went with JetBlue out of White Plains on the earliest flight out on 10/29 and are returning on 11/7 (the day after the cruise ends) on an 8:00 am flight. Not my ideal times but flight I could find that was reasonable. Came out to $269 pp.

It's official ...I will keep a list of those interested in meeting for some dinner and libations :drinking1 (if desired) the night before the cruise. Please PM me with the total number of people in your party, how many adults, children and ages of the children.

I will be away from the computer for a while, but I will compile and post the list shortly after I return.

We will be going to Fishlips in a few days, so I'll see how it works out. Let me know if you have suggestions for another location and if you think you can make a 6PM reservation.

Joanie

PS I am new to this sort of thing, so thanks in advance for helping me make some pixiedust: magic!

I am starting to get ansy now! I don't know how I'm going to make it through the next six months!! I ordered our Fish Extender from the wonderful woman on ebay :cool1:, can't wait to gt it!!

I have been reading many of the posts on the cruise thread, and can't wait to find out who our staff will be while on our cruise. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Ponz will be onboard! We loved him! My girls are hoping our waiter Godwin will be there too, they ask all the time if he will be our server.

We ate at Fishlips before our first cruise, it was awesome!!! The food was yummy, and the view rocked!!!

I think there are a lot of us that share the opinion of why could we all not be leaving tomorrow. I had the pleasure of hanging out with my family this weekend. What were they talking about.. how much fun it will be when they go back on the Magic, have their name announced, kick back on a little bit of the relaxing juice (aka various fruity alcoholic beverages).. in the Mexican Rivera! Then they proceeded to tell me all about their fun filled time last OCT. They know they are personally torturing me as I have yet to experience any of this. This will be our first REAL vacation for us. All I can think about is getting back to FL, showing my kid where I grew, up and some other surprises. I think I need to stay away from this website for like a month to help me NOT think about it! Somehow, I don't see this happening.:chat:I need the socialization to keep me sane.

Those are great pictures (except for the one with the alligator!)

I just ordered our FE yesterday too! Did you order it from Grady's Mom? I was going to "try" to make one - but I didn't think I could do it for less than what she was selling it for & I know I couldn't have done it so nicely!

Grady's mom makes really nice ones- ours is from her. :goodvibes I still haven't decided if we are doing fe's again or not- although I am leaning towards yes...:confused3

Grady's Mom is Tiffany. I have cruised with her twice. She is a super sweetheart and very talented! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Fishlips looks really cool. Thanks for the pics Leslie! We have been discussing our pre-cruise plans so I will see what we come up with. A lot of that centers around MNSSHP and if and when we will be going. The plan all along has for us to go on Thursday but we are tossing ideas around and seeing what will stick.

So I'll let you know when we figure out a little better what we are doing, Joanie!

I looked up Fish Lips web site. WOW, I'm HUNGGGGRRRYYY NOW! Great menu and lots of alternatives for anyone who can't eat Fish or Seafood (like me).

Since we could not get a decent flight out on Sat the 6th back home we opted to come home early on the 7th....so we booked 2 rooms at the Hyatt in MCO for the night we disembark. Figured we would rent a car after we get off the ship and do what we want during the day and then crash at the Hyatt since we have to get up so early for our 8:00 am flight next day.

I purchased the Hyatt Stay Certificates for $135.00 each plus $6.00 shipping and made the reservations for two rooms. I know many do the Hotwire thing for the Hyatt, but I just wanted to make the ressies and be done with it and $135.00 is a decent price for that hotel.

Getting so excited!!! Wish it were here now!!!

We shifted our trip a little, originally we wanted 4 days @ WDW on the front-end flying back on Saturday, but the flights on the weekend were too expensive so we are in on Thursday (2 days @ BLT) flying back Monday (2 days at BCV) which costs lots less.

I was so glad I booked our return flight when I did. I checked back a few days later and the return tickets on our same JetBlue flight from MCO to JFK had gone up by $80 per ticket! Crazy!

I'm trying to decide where we should have dinner on Friday 10/29. We are going to MK that day (but not doing MNSHHP). I was hoping to make a dinner reservation at one of the monorail accessible places. Opinions on which is the best place for us and the two kids? I was thinking either O'Hana or Chef Mickey's. We've had breakfast at both places, but never dinner.

We plan on having breakfast at Boma at Animal Kingdom the morning of the cruise.

Same here, we have had breakfast at both, but not dinner. I would think the buffet at Chef Mickey's would be better, but sometimes the choice comes down to characters and not food.

My little girl loves Lilo & Stich and the Fab 5 so we are eating at Chef Mickey's the morning of the cruise and will do Ohana when we get back.

O'hana was nice but I prefer Chef Mickey's....have done it several times for both breakfast and dinner...though I'll admit dinner was a few years ago. I just love the whole atmosphere of Chef Mickey's and the food was good!!

Wish I could have fit in a few days at WDW this trip but can't....going to Bermuda on NCL Dawn out of NYC on May 9th so can't take any more vacay days.

We will probably eat near the port either at Grill's which we have done many times or maybe try Fishlips....have about 12 in our total group so whatever we can fine that will accomodate. I know Grills will take ressies before 5:00 but not after (at least our last two times that was the policy so we would go around 4:30 or so).

Have you checked SW? I don't know if they run out of JFKI checked them this morning and they had cheap rates again. Too bad we have to drive now.

I did, yes. They don't fly out of JFK, but they do fly out of Islip, which is also very close to my house.

However, DH hates Southwest. Although the drive to Islip is more convenient for us, he would rather fly JetBlue. Several reasons, including the assigned seats and the Direct TV which keeps both kids pretty entertained. We need to be close to the bathrooms (cause the kids are up and down every five seconds) and we need 4 seats, two in front, two in back because DS has a tendency to kick the seat in front of him and we would rather he kick us or his sister than some stranger.

Also, Southwest does not participate in the DCL airline check in, so on our first cruise, we had to claim all of our luggage at the port and then carry it around with us in the airport until we were allowed to check - in for our flight. It was a pain, so we were hoping to avoid that this time.

I think we will give Chef Mickey's a try. I looked over the menu at both Ohana and Chef Mickey's and I think Chef Mickey's food would appeal to my kids more. At what time do they do Hallowishes? I was wondering if we would be able to see the Fireworks from the Contemporary.....

Chef Mickey's is my family's absolute favorite restaurant at Disney!!! We go every time that we visit WDW. The food is really good and you just can't beat the lively atmosphere. There is a huge balcony at the Contemporary facing MK. I can't remember but I think it is on the 4th level. It is a great spot to see the fireworks, from a distance of course. The fireworks may be a little later than your dinner. I think they are usually around 10:00, but the hotel has great gift shops to kill time while you are waiting.

We ate at Chef Mickey's our first night in WDW in 2008. Don't know if it was just being there or that it was really that great, but it was really really fun! We did dinner at Ohana in 2007, and I loved it, but there weren't any characters for dinner. I'd recommend Chef Mickey's!
