LOL! thats like me around here. I know where I'm going but don't ask me to tell you street names ect....for directions, lol

On another note, exactly what mail did everyone recently get? Back in Dec. I got the package I described up above, along with several booklets from DCL on the cruise planning (excursions, palo ect....)

TODAY, I got MICKEY MAIL! Thank goodness my kids are at school (oh and my 6yr has learned how he can fake a fever by holding the thermometre on a light bulb!) Todays mail had a beautiful cardboard envelope with a porthole on the front and a booklet inside titled "Welcome to your cruise, Western Caribbean Vacation". Also a really nice card with Mickey and Goofy on the front standing at the railings on deck 10? And to the side on top of the ocean part it says "Bon Voyage Baggott Family"!!!!!! (Thats not my TA's doing, this one is soley DCL doing!) Inside the card it reads "Welcome Back Baggott Family" and has all our cruise details necessary for making reservations (Res #, and date we can start booking)
AWESOME!! So is this what everyone else has been receiving or did you all get the package I got in December?

THat's the same same one I received. I didn't receive another maybe that was something special from your travel agent.

Kim, she lives in Penns Grove. So from home, we'd take the I-81 soon after getting to the U.S. side of the border. I used mapquest to see if we drove straight to Penns Grove, then on to FL, if that would take any more time than our usual route. It actually takes the same amount of time total. The only thing I don't like is getting onto the 95 from there as then we must? go through Washington vs around it? I've just heard DC can be bad traffic all day long. On the other hand, we are now thinking, that if we did go straight to my Aunts in Penns Grove, we could spend the night there, thus visit with them (I haven't seen her in years!) then head out the next day early and drive 16 hours straight to Cape Canaveral. :scared1:

2nd option is to not stay overnight, just drop off my mom have lunch, then get on the road again. My Aunt is 8 hours from here. Drive further before stopping for the night, to avoid a 16 hour driving day. We'll also have one day park tickets which I think will best be used BEFORE the cruise, but what day and what park? Either the Thursday or the Friday in the park, we have to decide. Are one of those nights FREE of MNSSHP? (Meaning,NO party). I want to go on a night the crowds won't be bad and it's a toss up as to what park MK or DHS? This will be for the kids, so in thinking with their favourites from last fall, that would be DHS. Any thoughts on that?

Yes, the traffic in DC can be horrible. We took the kids last summer, and had no problem at all but, the year before it took us forever to get there. There were accidents everywhere, traffic, the even landed a plane on the beltway for the accident. NIGHTMARE!!! We left early in the morning and didn't get to DC til 4:30pm, we lost the whole first day of our trip.
I think it will be a crap shoot for you as to whether or not you will hit traffic.

My kids would definately pick DHS. The Magic Kingdom will close early for the MNSSHP and they will be getting ready for it in the afternoon. You might be better off with DHS.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Usually if you are headed South on 95 and you are not driving through DC on a Friday or after 3 pm traffic should be OK. You also want to check your directions and make sure they don't take you through the heart of the city, but instead around it on 495. If you can plan the time of day that you are coming through you should be able to sail right by.

Also if you have a google traffic (I have it on my iphone) it is VERY accurate down to the mile in the DC area. I've used it many times and if it says traffic is yellow, it's yellow, and if it's green we've always been good to go.

Judy, We live in the Northern Virginia right near DC. Not sure if you are aware of this, but since it sounds like you will have more than three people in your car, you can take the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes when you are southbound on 95, that is if you are on it during the right time. The HOV lanes are in the middle between north and south bounds and change at various times during the day. Anyone can take the lane when it switches from north to south after 1pm. But after 3:30 pm when traffic gets really bad, only cars with 3+ people can use it. That really helps if you hit that stretch of road during that time. You will speed along in the HOV while looking over to your right and possibly seeing cars not moving who are also headed south. A good resource to look at on the web is: commuterpage.com/hov.htm or feel free to PM me.

T.T.F.N.

OK I will take you up on that! :drinking1 LOL!

Your DL trip sure is coming up quick! How exciting!!!

I had a horrible day today..work was worse than normal and the stupid Orlando traffic plus a less than accurate google map and two forgotten cell phones collided to make the perfect storm and Savannah missed one of her numbers at her dance competition today..UGH-- by less than five minutes (they were running 30 minutes early) AND I'm sick as a dawg. The only thing that will make me feel better is come cruise planning! ;)

Serenity bay take me away....

We were on the third page! I don't think we have ever been that far back since the thread started!

I picked up two really cute swimsuit sets for DS at Costco, Disney theme one Pirates, one Cars. It seems Buzz Lightyear has fallen out of favor all of a sudden. They also had some girl's swimsuits (non-character, but very bright and pretty) and I picked up two for DD. I also logged myself on to Lands End and picked up two suits for myself (Internet shopping for bathing suits is easier than facing the mirror in a dressing room!).

We are to going to Great Wolf Lodge in PA at the end of this month for DD's 9th birthday. She doesn't know it yet, so as I was buying water shoes, goggles and bathing suits I had to tell her it was because "they were on sale" and I might as well "get ready for summer". ;). They should be able to last us through the summer and make it through to the cruise also.

It's a relatively nice day here, 50-60 today, which is a relief after all the snow and cold, bitter weather we have been having. The kids played outside all day yesterday and slept better last night then they have in months. I can't wait for spring to be here for good.

Is that the indoor water park? Have you been there before?

Yes, it's the indoor waterpark. We have been there once before about two summers ago and my daughter loved it. She has been asking to go back ever since.

If my daughter could spend all day, every day in water she would happily do it.

Ok, just read a site that says as long as our date has been registered with Disney, then we'll still get our tickets. At least that was how I understood it.
Hopefully that is the case. :) We'll still volunteer if we in either case, but if we don't get the tickets, then we don't visit WDW before our Cruise. Guess I'll find out soon enough!

I made it just in time also and received my voucher by email a week or so ago. Unfortunately, I never did find an opportunity for DH and DD to do. Oh well, at least one of us will get into Magic Kingdom for free. It's still about an $80 savings. And I did have fun volunteering at the children's museum. The kids were a hoot and the other volunteers were funny and we had a great time working together.

Where is everybody? ;)

Just giving us a little bump!

It is a yucky day here today but that's OK by me becuase the weather is supposed to be perfect- and I mean PERFECT- for Sunday when we finally make it over to the MK. High 73, low 51 "abundant sunshine" and 0% chance of rain! :dance3:

We can hope the weather is right and the crowd calendar forecast wrong. We try not to go on days over 6, but it says it will be a 7. We are going to get Sarah's first haircut at the MS Barber Shop, too. Not quite sure how she'll do..LOL!

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

The crowds will be more than managable even at a 7 in the MK. Have a great time!

I am so upset right now.

I am the cookie manager for my daughter's girl scout troop. I've done the job for three years and every year the job gets worse. Parents not giving me their orders on time, not picking up the cookies, not giving the money on time.

This year I had all the same problems and in addition parents being annoyed when I called to remind them to pick up their orders (it's hard to store 800 boxes of cookies in my house). One woman was downright rude to my husband when she came to pick her boxes. A few weeks ago, one parent claimed I gave her two boxes she didin't order and she wanted to exchange them (I triple checked the order and she got exactly what was on her form), but I gave her two of my daughter's boxes and told her I would take the two she didn't want and get rid of them somehow. When I picked them up, one of them was open! The cookies weren't eaten, but she claimed her toddler attacked the box. I had to keep that box, because I couldn't sell it. Not a big problem, since they happened to be my son's favorite.

This same woman just dropped off her money and guess what? It's $7.00 short. Yep, she's not paying me for the two boxes I exchanged for her cause she is claiming I shorted her two boxes. She seems to have forgotten that I gave her two for the two she gave me.:sad2:

I could call her on it, but honestly, I don't think its worth it for the $7 bucks. Plus, our original troop manager actually quit when this same woman's husband called to threaten her for daring to suggest that their daughter was not always behaving appropriately at the meetings.

I feel really taken advantage of. Needless to say, I will not be volunteering to do this again next year.:sad1: Can I go on vacation now?

WE MADE IT TO HAMILTON! What was supposed to be a 4 hour drive turned into a 7 hour drive once we hit RUSH HOUR in Toronto. My cousin gets married tomorrow! Can't wait! And our hotel!!!!! Courtyard By Marriott is GORGEOUS! It's labeled as a 3 Star, but looks like a 5 Star! LOVE IT (Thanks Priceline!) This event moves us closer to our cruise date ( on my calendar anyway)

Turn your clocks forward tomorrow! Happy Weekend everyone!
