WE DID THAT CRUISE......... loved it.

enJOY

THe port in LA is not very pretty although they may spruce it up since Wonder is going to be there LONG TERM.

But the ports along the way are soo cool!

Enjoy hope youre gonna get to do DL too!

If there's any tips you can pas on, I'd love to hear them.

Hey everyone...hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

A little gift came from a Cruise Critic friend who emailed me copies of the Independence OTS cruise Compasses (RCCL's equivalent of the Navigators on DCL)..now we can REALLY start planning! I had been working off last years' info and quite a bit has changed so I do have some work to do on my spreadsheet. We can really start geting excited now though (27 more days!!!)

Sandy the Freedom is the sister ship of the Indy so stay tuned as I'm sure I will do a trip report of some sort. In fact my cousin and uncle just got off Freedom a few weeks ago, it is their favorite ship. The Riviera sounds great too! When we plan to go out to DL in a few years I hope we can squeeze in a Wonder cruise...we'll see.....;)

We've cruised on the Legend, which is a Spirit class ship, but this will be our first Conquest class cruise. Looking forward to anything you or your uncle have to say about it. Where will you be posting your trip report? Here or on Cruise Critic? If you think about it, send me a link. And have a great time!

Wii Resort has similarities to Wii Sports, but with MORE. I like having competitions with my kids, it's a hoot and many of them are great at really woking your arm muscles. Think RESORT activities. There is sword play, wakeboarding, archery, frisbee, basketball, power cruising, cycling, golf, table tennis, bowling, canoeing, skydiving, and air plane flying. Within each there are different courses, multi player options, different skill levels ect....
Fun on my own, but ultimately the most fun when playing with someone else.:)

As for other Dis Group activities on board, I love the idea of a Palo brunch. DH and I were going to do that ourselves anyway, but I like the idea of sharing a table with others.
PJ breakfast? That might actually be FUN! I think on the Wonder, we only did the buffet for breakfast at BBB. Are there other options for breakfasts on the Magic?

There are a couple options for breakfast.

HONESTLY we always had a hard time figuring out when, the restaruants were open other than dinner...

I know that they are and i know that other Dis groups have had PJ breakfasts.

It became a joke with DH and I , I am sure all you have to do is look in the Navigator to see when something was open...we jsut never could make it anywhere to eat except The "fastfood" places,

Yes! You are right! It is located in the Navigators! The trick is they hide it on page one! hahaha :rotfl2: I think they normally have that information highlighted in yellow.

Each night when we get back from dinner, we take some time to look at the Navigator for the next day to plan where we want to go and what we want to do!

I don't think I am able to post a link here, but the one I am looking at is for a Sunday, 11/15/2009 on the Disney Magic. Here are the times it lists for breakfast:

Cove Cafe: 7:00 AM
Goofy's Galley: 7:00 AM
Luminere's: 7:30 AM
Parrot Cay: 7:30 AM:
Topsider Buffet: 7:00 AM

So an option for a "PJ Breakfast" could be - meet at the Goofy Pool at 8:30 with your breakfast! We often take food to go from Topsider's so you could get stuff from there as well as the Covd Cafe or Goofy's Galley and just all pick a time and place to meet . . .

I have never done it before, but I know others have set up a group meal in one of the other restaurants - so that could be an option as well.

Hi All!
I have been so remiss in visiting and reading posts! :sad2: I must apologize! Between work and going to WDW in November, I have just been crazy... and my time management has been poor....

Anyway, I wanted to ask if someone can fill me in on what is happening with the cruises in 2011 for the Dream... are they "bookable", when is she coming over??:confused3

Thanks in advance..... I promise to try and get here more often!

Last year we met at Luminere in our PJ and ate together. We also arranged a lunch to share on the first sea day that was fun. We met outside the resturant and asked to be seated in the same area in the restrurant. It was neat having time to talk so early in the cruise. I believe the person who set this up called somebody with DCL just to let them know that there would be a larger group requesting to be sat together and provided them the number of expected folks.

I don't know if anyone else has suggested this but a few folks may want to link their dinning. Sometimes those traveling without kids will link together and that affords an opportunity to really get to know some other DISERS. Families with kids might do this with with other families with kids in the same age group or if they are from the same part of the world. Once you get together the kids can be at one table and the parents at another (if put at more than one table) There are many options and DCL will make every attempt to link folks together.

:welcome: aboard! Glad to have you sailing with us!!

Thanks! :) I am planning on posting it both places. Initially I thought I would have to make it solely a comparison to stay on the DCL boards but I saw a Carnival one there recently so I'm thinking it won't be too OT for these boards just in regular TR format. And since CC is quite different from the Dis, (and I have a reputation for taking a looooooong time to get my TR's done) I was thinking of changing it up a bit...still tossing around ideas in my head but there will be a TR or review of some fashion posted in both places, of that I can assure you! :rotfl2: (and I will try to get it done prior to 2011)

I don't have a lot of tips yet except that I am suprised at the Flowrider hours. Not as many hours as I expected. (3 or 4 open hours/day for stand up and boogie boarding respectively)...but I think different ships may be slightly different. My uncle told me his favorite time to flowride was at 7 AM- no wait (on the Freedom)...but on Indy it isn't open that early. Don't know if that is a ship difference or time perspective difference. LOL. Also the specialty restaurants (Portofino & Chops) you can book prior to the cruise (like Palo) but you have to PAY for it when you book (and having a ton of onboard credit doesn't count, you have to pony up the credit card. I didn't like that so much....we have nearly $700 in OBC there is no way I am paying out of pocket NOW.) Also we are doing My Time Dining (have to prepay gratuities but that is OK with me) so I am interested to see how that works out!

I know some of them are available to book, but I'm not sure how far out. Certainly well into the year. We were throwing around prices in September and October '11 so I know they can be booked at least up to that point. I do believe she is coming over in late January '11. The 26th sticks in my head but I don't know for sure if that is the exact date of the maiden voyage.

HTH a bit!

Thanks for the welcome:hug:

I too am glad to hear there will be other teens. My oldest brandon will be turning 16 while on the cruise! My daughter will be 12 and my youngest will be 7.

I'm trying to jump threw all the posts (on this thread)... but not sure if I'm missing any vital info. I don't want to miss anything. Have any big plans been made?? were so excited:yay:

I have a question... Last year we booked a day room at the HYATT after the cruise ( our flight was really late that night ) Someone from our DIS group found a discount somewhere on line and I can not remember where??? anyone know?

Are you all talking on facebook too or just here?

Just check out the first post, Janice (Disney-Cruiser) has done a wonderful job summarizing everything there as a quick & easy point of reference. No big decisions made yet, aside from Dis-o-Treat which is on Monday 11/1 at 10 AM (we have not finalized the format of that get together yet). We are tossing around other ideas, I'm sure we are having a Traditional Dis Meet on embarkation day and are discussing Palo Brunch, PJ Brunch, etc. We have a FE list going if you would like to participate PM a shout out to Leslie (LSJones), in a few months I will be looking into Lanyards for the group (pay-per-lanyard) so keep in the back of your mind if you are interested in that.

Hmm...I think that about sums it up LOL. ;)

We couldnt even hit Topsiders at the right time.

But I still managed to gain 10 pounds.

I like the idea of meeting at the GOOFY POOL with Breakfast.

I like Lumiers too....someone would ust have to take the reigns and plan that one.

Where as we could just grab some tables together at the GOOFY POOL

:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3
