Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

First, thanks to you all for the get well wishes and prayers for my father-in-law.

Second, and this is the great news, my father-in-law woke up today!! :) He is not able to speak or move most of his body, yet, but he moves his toes on command. He seems to recognize my wife and mother-in-law.

He has a long road to recovery but we are hopeful that the whole family will be able to enjoy a Disney Cruise in the not too distant future.

Thanks to all and I hope you have a great cruise,
Brian

Wow, that is wonderful news. Best wishes for everything, I really hope you get to start that new countdown to cruising very soon :wizard:

Thank You!! We are getting very excited for this cruise!:yay:

Our info is:
Kari
Brad
Calvin (3)
2062

If you could add my sister-in-laws family...that would be great. She hasn't had time to get signed in yet, but wants to do the FE. They don't have a stateroom assigned yet. (Is this normal??) But their info is:

Julie
Todd
Brandon (11)
Meagan (9)

We both are late sitting for dinner.

Thanks! Let me know if you need anything else.

I have added your information to the roll call - does your SIL family want to be in the FE as well?

When you get a chance please take a look at page 1 post #4 when you get a chance to review your information. I have learned to not "assume" anyone's "position" in a family, so if you want any thing added such as "DS" or "DH" please let me know!

Wow, thats an accomplishment! I started the final laundering of summer clothes, that are then being packed directly into suitcases. The weather has cooled enough here, that we don't need ALL our summer stuff at this point.

Good for you. Every time I think I can start laundry :laundy: prep/staging, the temperature goes back into the mid 80's and I put it off again. Even went swimming at a friend's pool on Saturday. Much later than usual, but wonderful.

It can be a long road to recovery (my mom had a stroke in March 2008) but it is possible. I hope for all the best for your family and a positive attitude will serve you well during this period of your lives. :hippie:

FE gifts, almost done, most are packed into the gift bags (thought I'd have this done by now). My goal is to have all FE gifts finished and packed and the FE I'm making finished and most suitcases packed by Thanksgiving. That gives me what, 3 weeks?

Yup - 3 weeks till Turkey Day for us Canucks!

That's also my packing week-end for the cruise. I don't think I'll need our summer stuff or formal wear in the two weeks between Thanksgiving and our cruise.

My next big job is my mom's Halloween costume. Mine's easy and my Dad's is done but my mom - who normally picks easy stuff (witch, princess, etc) wants to be a mermaid :fish:except that in the wheelchair her feet can't be together because they need to go up on the foot steps on each side of the chair. Good thing I've got a touch of her creative streak! :wizard:

Got my sketch, got my plans, now I just need to get to work on it.:cheer2:

We're ready to go....

At least that's what my two boys have been singing for the last week.:rockband: The bags are JUST about packed; but because they are too heavy; we'll have to add another bag to our arsenal. Hopefully, Mom's working on the Halloween costumes-though like I've said to my hubby...I won't be suprised if she's finishing them up as we drive to the airport...she likes to work under pressure.

I think everyone's getting just a bit excited. My eldest:stitch: will have his birthday party this weekend;party: and the next weekend we start October. The boys' chain countdown is now just as tall as they are (we started the countdown around 200; I think...it's been so long now). It all seems so very real.

BTW...we'll be at MNSSHP on the 28th as well...first timers for the party and a cruise!

Wow - that is great news. :thumbsup2 I hope he keeps improving every day and that he has a successful recovery. I hope that you and your family will be able to go on a cruise here in the near future.

Wow, thanks nenner! Looks like Family Beach 2 is where we'll be planting ourselves in 46 days! That means I'll finally make it to the heads up bar! (I've never been!)

I will do that!

Yes, my SIL would like to do the FE. And she just learned that she will be in room 2579.

One thing checked off my personal "to do" list.

134 left to go......:rotfl:
:yay: LOL..only 134? ;)

Dw and I just got back friday eve from a quick, 2 night stay ad Bay Lake Tower, just us... no kids. Cheap $9 Spirit air flights. Dinner at California Grille!:cool1:

Very nice getaway:woohoo:

Awesome...was it HOT over there? Its still miserable over here near the coast. Blegh!

I am pretty sure that we would be interested in lanyards and so would my sister-in-law. So I will keep a lookout for your post about it.

I finally got the tracking email on the shipment today so it will still be a few weeks before I have them all done and know a for sure final count. I know I should have at least 5 extra though:thumbsup2

We will be at MNSSHP on the 28th, as well! We have a 5 o'clock reservation at The Plaza, but are otherwise free to meet up for a while to chat! :)

Oh Brian I am so glad your FIL is improving! That is wonderful news! He and your family will have a long road ahead but I'm so glad to hear a postive update! We wish you all the best!!

I shopped around Walmart on the weekend and looked for a Jedi costume for my youngest boy. Then older boy reminds me he too wants to be a Jedi for Halloween. No Jedi Costumes to be found. The fabric store only carries Patterns for Adult Jedi Costumes. Hmmmmm. So take the task off my shoulders of adjusting a pattern to a child size, I just told my son that there are no Jedi costumes, so he'll just have to pick something else. Ok, he says, "I want to be a storm trooper then". Well, the storm trooper costume another parent has offered to lend me, has this HUGE storm trooper helmet! How on earth would I pack that thing? Then older DS says, "I'll just be a pirate again then, and has a smile on his face! So, just in case he said that because he's "onto the surprise", I said "Really? That would be such a relief, you know, so I don't have to spend more money on a new costume! Oh, and I read that picture retakes at school are on the 26th. Thats a good thing because you remember how your picture turned out last year, and we missed the retake day because we were in WDW? Well, we've decided to take Nana to NJ on the 24th, tour DC on the 25th, and we'll be home later that night in plenty of time for retakes on the 26th"........ Do you think that threw him off? He did look confused.

In other news.... I just called DCL and spoke to a very nice gentleman who laughed comically when I asked if he could tell me what movies would be playing during our cruise. He said, that that was an EASY question to answer for me. I guess he had some callers who were asking difficult questions? Anyway, I enjoyed the short conversation and here are the movies playing on the Magic Next Month and at least through to including our cruise:

UP
Toy Story 1, 2 and 3 in 3D
Old Dogs
The Princess And The Frog
When In Rome
Alice In Wonderland 3D
The Last Song
Oceans
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Step Up 3D
You Again Which premiere's in Theatres Sept. 24th.

Any adults looking for an excursion in Cozumel?

I found an excursion called the "Cozumel Bar Hop".
http://www.cozumelbarhop.com

Looks like a lot of fun but it's for 18+ and is not wheelchair accessible.

I'm thinking by this day, I'll want a little time away from my parents (I love taking them on vacation but after a while, a little alone time is a good thing). And of course, since the bus isn't wheelchair accessible, mom can't go anyways. Being in a foreign country, I'm not thrilled about doing any tour completely by myself.

Anyone else interested?

No Tangled? I was hoping they'd play it on the ship before it came out.

Judy

I think my son is going to be very happy with that selection. I was hoping for Iron Man 2 but you cant win them all.
