Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Judy, I'm backing Pudo on this....come sail with us on the Fantasy in 2012! You get 7 days in the EASTERN Caribbean with lots of fun people on board. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Beth

Ditto what Beth and Jeff are saying. It would be great if you were on this cruise with us! :goodvibes

Well, I just finished chatting with Jeff's TA, Wonderful lady! DH and I will have a chat this evening and make the decision one way or the other. Can I really wait almost 2 years?????? How do we do that???????????
I need to find a way or someone to stop at that Disney Outlet in St. Augustine for me sometime between now and the next cruise (as we'll likely fly next time)

I chatted with her for the first time today too! :)

Well, talked to DH. We're going to Cancel the Dream next year and book the August 25th Fantasy. I feel sad and Happy. We surely will love the Eastern, but sad we won't cruise next year. Gotta email my TA now to get the credit for the Dream to use for the deposit for the Fantasy. We'll be bringing my mom and her BF along with us. :)

I hope you all had a wonderful time on your cruise. Me and my family are leaving friday for our cruise on November 13. I was wondering, does Disney still do music theme night (like 80's, 60's ect) at Rockin Bar D? Welcome Home by the way! Thank You!

I know they had a country night because they were hyping the fact that they were giving out free cowboy hats to anyone dancing. That's the only theme night I remember.

Have a great time!

Judy,

I might have some good news in regard to your 08/25/12 decision. When we booked on-board we got a big post card in our fish mail from Leslie thanking us for rebooking.

The post card is a Friends and Family promotion which means if your F & F book the same cruise you do within 30 days of the issue you date of the post card they can get up to a $200 on-board credit.

I originally booked the 08/11/2012 cruise, but asked Leslie to switch to 08/25/2012. My post card reflects the 08/11/2012 date, but you should be able to get the OBC since we are sailing on the same date.

They did have at least one night they did the 80's theme and then another I saw was for the 70"s. They were all decked out in 70's stuff.

Hope this helps!

.

It was Joanie's camera that the cast member used to take the group portraits, but I don't think they were going straight home, so it might take her a few more days to post them.

We are still at Disney, but should arrive home on Sunday and will post photos shortly after.

Glad to hear you are all arriving home safely. I've been wondering how many of us either had future cruises already booked or did so during this cruise. We booked a dummy for December '11, but probably won't sail then. Will do some research before we decide when we want to sail.

Have any of you ever done Adventures by Disney? We have friends who would like us to travel to Italy with them (Viva Italia), and would love to hear your opinions.

FE gifts were over the top. That on top of all the extras some of you (you know who you are) worked so hard to provide really make this cruise spectacular.

My only regret is that I didn't get to meet each and every one of you.

Jeff,

What is so special about your TA? I need to know! NOT that we are considering the cruise BUT....

I ll send ya my email in a pm.

Jonathan:thumbsup2

I'm sure Jeff's TA is just a wonderful as many others out there. I'm using her services now only because I asked Jeff for a reference since he was happy with her service! What interests me the most, is this Travel Agency is one of the few that offer OBC, and That to me is a great incentive! I've used two different TA's for our past cruises, and none offered this.

Jeff, I'll be making two reservations, do you know if a F&F coupon is good for more than the one booking? My mom and her BF will be in the other cabin, so I don't know if that means that they too could benefit from that when I'm the one booking it??? I'll have to check with OUR TA :rotfl2:

What I'm having trouble with, is picking a Cat, and stateroom location. This is not like the Cat. locations on the current two ships. We wanted a 6B again, but it appears all Cat 6's are at the very AFT of the ship. I really think I need to be midship do the motion sickness I get. But really rockiing in my experience only happens when going through the Gulph Stream, so first and last night on board. So really, is the rocking any worse AFT or FORWARD as compared to midship? Because of my concern, I'm considering a CAT 5D or E, there are a few staterooms available close to midship, but it is an increase in price, but perhaps worth it. I don't care what deck I'm on, just the midship location and a VERANDAH!!! BUT if there really isn't much difference in the motion, then maybe we would consider the AFT location. HELP ME DECIDE!!! :worship:

On another note, I just sent an email off to DCL lost and found. I've finished unpacking and going through the laundry and Tim's new GAP hoodie is no where to be found. Yet we have photos of him wearing it on board. So I sent a photo along with the email, and we'll see if DCL finds it. I'm prepared for the NOT, but it sure would be nice to get that back. It was the ONE thing Tim wanted for the new school year, and GAP is not cheap. It was thick and warm, and his new favourite NEW piece of clothing. Oh and speaking of lost and found, Jeff were you able to contact Nachi Cocom about your forgotten items?

We love being aft! It keeps me closer to coffee!

We live in NJ but use a travel agent in Chicago! When we were planning our 2006 cruise, there were a bunch of people in the meet thread that were getting a group (they had all cruise together before) - so I got in on that deal, and since the travel agent was good, we have kept her!

Good luck with the shirt, I hear that DCL is very good about such things!

Back to reality for us also! I went back to work Sunday night shift and DH went back today.

We had a EXCELLENT cruise! Had the best server I think we have ever had (11 cruises, 5 DCL) and enjoyed the other two couples we were seated with at dinner. I did not meet as many Diser's as I had hoped, time just goes so fast! We did meet some of you and everyone was GREAT to get to know! We also met more couples traveling by themselves (like us) than I ever expected to meet on a Disney cruise. Several Honeymoon couples also!

Such an amazing cruise, just wish the weather on CC had been better. We are one of the people you saw heading back to the ship at CC as the dark clouds headed in! Went straight to the Quiet Cove Pool and were almost alone!!:thumbsup2 I also saw a movie that afternoon and I would have missed that if the weather were good, so a little surprise addition! LOL.

We rebooked for the same week next year, Oct 29, 2011 on the Magic, Western Carib. It is not Jersey Week, so I am thinking not many of you will be on that cruise, but I hope some of are!:yay:

I am so GLAD we got to meet the people we met, but wish I had met more of you guys!

How much is the OBC? I know if we are looking at going, I'm thinking about a Cat 9b I think? Porthole on the higher floors. After being inside it was awesome for people like me that just like to sleep, but I lost track of time SO much in there. Atm I think I get a $75 from DU for the Cruise we booked in Oct of next year. I think its a little higher with Caribbean. Another thing we are looking at, is possibly moving our date to the August one, then re-booking the one we have as for the bigger discount. Idk thought, my head is still on a swivel. You know how when you bring a child to Disney that they get sensory overload, well I'm totally there now! My living room is still destroyed from all the unpacking.

Judy, if you look at the bottom of Jeff's offer tag thingy, it says one per family/friend.

Also I just started the Walt Disney World TR as some of you have suggested in the D*TR of the boards. Hope to see you there too!

I think I need to call Morgan's school and find out when it starts in 2012. We generally start before Labor Day, so I'm thinking it will be the 28th. Can't have her miss her first few days of 7th grade, but I wanna cruise with you guys agian!

I have the postcard too, so if anyone is interested in April 15, 2012 (4 night Bahamas), I'm happy to share.

We live in Massachusetts, but have a TA in Virginia. I'm thinking of transferring to DU, to get the extra OBC though :)

Hey Jonathan,

I sent you an email, but I also wanted to post it here too. (Note: my TA is one of Dreams Unlimited's biggest competition so mentioning my TA's name or web address usually means I will get a friendly reminder not to do so. I am using dashes to separate the company name so that it doesn't automatically get filtered out). ;)

The best analogy I can use is a TA is like having a "friend with connections". If you know the right people sometimes you are able to get stuff like tickets to a concert or sporting event because you have a "friend" with access to those tickets. If you tried to get the tickets yourself you might not get any at all, but your friend might be able to get you front row seats.

Some travel agents are well-connected so they can get you things that you might not be able to. For instance, in January of 2007 when the 2008 rates came out we wanted to sail on the Disney Magic 15 repositioning cruise from LA to FL in a suite. Every DCL fan knew they were in for a long day of trying to call in, waiting on hold, and hopefully getting what they wanted. In one case, I heard from a friend that the DCL agent (once they finally got them) told my friend that she needs to make a decision soon as the prices are going up as they were talking, which was an accurate statement. The repositioning cruises were incredibly popular (one sold out that first day).

On that day, I was at work, in the late morning I got a call from the owner of the travel agency I use. He said, "Jeff, I have a Cat 3 (single bedroom suite) and a Cat 1 (Royal Suite). Which one do you want?" I took the Cat 3, thanked him very much, and went back to my work day. I didn't have to do any of the work, sit on hold, and waste my day. I also know for a fact that if I tried to get a Cat 1 or 3 by myself I would have had no luck.

In reality, if you find that your cruise needs are pretty standard then you don't need a TA, but if you want something special or a little out of the ordinary then having a friend in the business is the best way to go. A-l-l S-e-a-s-o-n-s T-r-a-v-e-l based out of Jacksonville, FL is very well connected. They have never failed me yet on any request. The agent I speak to directly is Sandie Clifford - 800-771-8690, she is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Not sure about using the coupon for both cabins. That would be nice. I have never seen this type of coupon before our cruise. Sandie can research it for you. Hopefully you can.

We had these coupons for this last cruise to give to family & friends, you should be able to use it for your mom's room Judy. I think you can only "give" it to five people.

Jeff, I was so happy to see we use the same travel agency. I've always been happy with them.
