Wow, what an awesome cruise. We got back last Saturday night to a totally dead car battery because we left some lights on. And then, I ran a fever and kinda fell under the weather. Starting to perk up.
The FE gifts: We loved our FE gifts. We all enjoyed going back to the room and checking the FE, but no one as much as Laura. She worried that FE practically to death. Like others, I used that wonderful embroidered bag to deliver our gifts

The jewel case with the calendar, yes! I would love to get the files. The coasters, pot holders, note pad holders...absolutely lovely. The bookmarks! So creative and useful. Magnets...I got a few ideas from those gems. Candles, pencils, pens, key rings, playing cards, glow sticks, stickers, tatoos, CANDIES..and several lovely smelling hand sanitizers! I love licorice! Every gift was treasured. The minute details of some of these gifts are astounding such as the Haunted Mansions bookmarks...did is say CLEVER? I know I've forgotten a few...like the ornament that will adorn my tree this year. I thank every one of you so much.
Our stateroom: Our stateroom was clean. I did notice an odor every once in a while from the bathroom but just shut the lid and the door. It was not overwhelming and never felt a need to mention it. There was a time where it would not flush, not backed up, just would not flush.

It worked itself out though. We had a towel animal every night which is fun and CHOCOLATE, which I didn't need but convinced myself otherwise. No problems with anything room wise. I did go and "visit" another room before we left the ship and noticed a clock on the desk in that room. I told the room steward there that I didn't have a clock in my room He told me that they are not replacing them as they break down.
Dining: Our waiter and assistant waiter were just OK. The first thing that happened was they did not tell us on Saturday that our character breakfast was on Sunday. I learned that from the chart that was posted on the first page of our thread. The other family sitting with us missed the character breakfast. I didn't see any special desserts. However, hubby ordered a double order of escargot and a double order of lobster...no one batted an eye and they were delivered. We had a Palo brunch which was lovely. Tried the fruit pizza for the first time...oh my...it was good. No high tea for us and we ended up canceling our Palo dinner. We just couldn't make it work. Room service almost every night for our cheese and crackers....lovely!
Grand Cayman: Had a blast doing the wave runners. We (us girls at least) were scared to death of the sting rays as I knew we would be but that is ok. 2 of the 3 of us finally warmed up and I even held one of those slippery triangles. I did not give it a kiss for 7 years of good luck though. We had a blast going out to Sting Ray City, on to Rum Point and the ride back. Avoided the rain, not that it would have mattered. A lovely day.
Nachi: We had the same issues with them wanting to sit us down on the other end of the beach. We arrived early enough, but they wanted to seat us down at the far end of the beach. We moved and were told that we could not sit where we wanted, the seats we wanted were "reserved" and that we would have to sit in the second row. Left a bad taste with me. We had a great time with the Treasure hunt, swimming in the pool (Laura was just giddy with excitement to sit at the swim up bar), lunch was nice also. Our waiter was very attentive. The kids got kicked out the of the hot tub, which was lukewarm. I don't think that we would do Nachi again. I just never read any reviews about the problems that I personally had with them. I felt that I should have been able to sit where I wanted to sit, I thought we all paid the same pricing and that is reason enough for me not to return.
Castaway Cay: Who doesn't love Castaway Cay? Michelle ran off with her teen friends, which I have never had a 14 day vacation with someone that I have seen so little of! Between doing 5 days of Disney World with her sister, niece and Auntie prior to the cruise and then the teen clubs...I had to come home to get a good look at her! At any rate, Castaway Cay was a lot of fun. Laura participated in the crab races again this trip. Her lucky number is #5 and that is the crab that she chose. Her crab was dead last in heat #1, #2, #3 and woke up in #4 and won that race! Then there was the final race....unbelievable but her crab won! She was so excited. The ribbon and button is treasured. Glad to meet up with Nina, Mike and Jordyn on Castaway Cay also. We had lunch and had fun exploring some of the new areas on the island. The girls wanted to do the water bikes. We ended up doing the peddle boats. Note to self: Do not do peddle boats in windy conditions. Getting out was easy, getting back in, not so much.

There were several kayaks and peddle boats that had to be "towed in" as the wind was such that we were being blown towards the ship!
Wow, this is the most I've ever said. We rebooked our 4/1/2012 Mexican Riviera and saved some $$$'s there. It looks like our 2 oldest daughters will be able to go on that cruise with us. I am interested in knowing if the certificate you get is good for only 1 per certificate or can I use it up to 5 times as someone has suggested. I am also waiting for a return call to book a dummy booking. Still have my fingers crossed here for a Hawaii cruise ???
At any rate, this is my version of a trip report. It was a blast. So many people I didn't meet and then there are those that are so memorable. Don't scratch your heads! You know who you are

You are the ones that went the extra yard to make this cruise so much more than just a cruise. Thank you.
And importantly, Michelle and Laura made some great friends. They both have kept in contact with youngsters that they have met on previous cruises and I am sure the same will be true this time.
Till we cruise again....
Linda
