Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Jeff told me on the 8/25/12 Fantasy cruise meet thread that you had booked this date. We are booked on this one also! I am so excited to hear that a few of us are sailing on this date.

We're booked on it too!! I also have the Dream booked for 8/16/11.

We really had a great cruise. It was really wonderful meeting everyone.
Thanks so much to all for the great FE Gifts. My kids are still going through them.

This was our 3rd cruise and the best because of this group. We had a great time at Nachi and Captain Marvin's.

This was by far the best cruise we've taken and I thank this wonderful group of people for that. From the lanyards to the TOT, Captain Marvin's & Nachi and the FE, it was a great time. Thank you, the kids were so excited every time they found something outside the door in one of their pockets. We had a great time and it was easier to say hi to someone when I noticed their lanyard (Hi Sarge! Do you mind walking in before me so the comdedians pick on you tonight? :goodvibes)

Judy & Beth, thank you for arranging the treasure hunt. Even though Jacq was the only one of my three to participate she had a blast.

We spent Sunday at MK where my three year old started off on the Goofy Barnstormer which he rode four times and then we realized he was tall enough to ride Big Thunder Mountain. All I can say is I'm very thankful there were not any big crowds at the MK on Sunday b/c we rode BTM back to back over 10 times, sometimes without even getting off!

We finally arrived home last night, after a delayed flight & very bumping landing. The plane was packed, and we were some of the last to board b/c I couldn't get my Southwest App to work on my phone :headache: We ended up sitting separated from each other with Marcus (3) sitting across the aisle and slightly forward of me. He was not happy about it ,but I was very proud of the kids for traveling so well & not sitting together. This will teach me to spend the extra $$ and do an early check-in.

Thank you for all the wonderful FE gifts and all the special touches that made this cruise so wonderful.

Yes, I used it to deliver the gifts too. Put them in in the order I would be taking them out and went along and delivered.

Who did the awesome coasters? I :lovestruc those!

My mom, Gramachraming is so glad everyone liked the bags. The coasters were from my sister (made of course by my mother :goodvibes), I'm glad they made me a set, I was worried for a minute!

Oh you are so welcome! :goodvibes
I know what you mean about being unnecessary! :rotfl: We have SO.MUCH.CANDY we decided we need to send the kids reverse Trick or Treating...you know they ring a doorbell and when the neighbors answer say Trick or Treat... throw candy at them !:lmao:

Oh my gosh, yes! LOVED the bag! So glad we got ours! (J/K Arlene!) :rotfl2:;) I have to say the FE gifts overall were so outstanding!!! Just jaw-dropping amazing. what wonderful hard work, creativity and generosity from all. We love all of our gifts tremendously! :lovestruc

I  this idea! I left a 5 pound bag of M&M's with our room stewardess because I couldn't fit it into the suitcase. Of course on the drive to WDW I heard about it from all the kids (& big kids too!) I had tossed it in thinking the kids would be going to the movies, but I don't think they saw one movie on the ship other than the endless loop of Shrek. :confused3

If you knew the conversations we had regarding your bag! :scared1: I'm so thankful it magically appeared :wizard: (thanks Judy)
Anyone ever experience "land sickness"? I have been having equilibrium issues still since getting off the ship and still feel like I'm moving a lot. I did feel the ship move most of the time but never actually got seasick.
Sign me up on this list. It was AWFUL. It was made worse by our driver back to WDW, who had an air freshener that killed me along with his horrible driving. Saturday I was completely useless. My family took the girls to the Magic Kingdom & DH & I kept Marcus & walked around DTD. I had to walk outside and sit because I kept running into things in every store.

Back from a fantastic long vacation with my hubby(fastpak) and our son. Had a great time meeting everyone feels weird to be back home i think im still in disney cause right now that feels like home more.Guess i will have to come back to reality since i have to be back to work in a hour. I am so ready to go back my inlaws go next week and leave on monday and i wish i can just climb into their suitcase. But again I really had a great time and loved meeting all of you and maybe we will meet again on another cruise in the future. :)

I think I'm finally over the loss of equilibrium, but Saturday at the airport was tough.

I'm not sure what cruise crud is, but I woke up with a sore throat and oogy eyes. I need a nap, but I *still* haven't been to the grocery store!

The coasters were awesome, and so were your notebooks and mini scrapbooks, Sheri!

I have some pictures for Diane and I took some good ones of Marcus on the boat to Stingray City - PM me your email address, please!

I'm looking online at DCL at that August 25th 2012 Fantasy Eastern Caribbean Cruise. I was surprised to see the inside cabins costing more than so far the Cat 9 ocean view cabins!!! Is this simply because of the demand for a virtual porthole? :confused3 (Kim, I'm trying for it :) )

Thanks Jennifer~I got the idea for the notebooks from a post by 123SA, I made them for teacher gifts at the end of the year & they were a big hit.
Samantha is looking forward to writing to Morgan. I'm sending that pm now, before I start climbing this mountain of laundry. :laundy:
I found I didn't take many photos this time, I'm not sure why. I guess I was too busy enjoying myself.

Got an email from my TA October 29th that inside cabin prices were increasing soon. Here's the details info.

2012 sailings of the all new Disney Fantasy have only been available for a little more than one week and we have already seen price increases of over $600 on some sailings. Prices on interior rooms on every sailing of the Disney Fantasy have increased and we anticipate more increases soon. Book now to get the best rate possible. Even if you are not sure if you will be able to travel book now. On all rooms that are not suites deposits are fully refundable up to 75 days before the cruise. And now deposits are only 20% of the cruise fare.

While prices on inside staterooms have increased, for the most part, other pricing has remained unchanged. As a result, on most sailings, the least expensive staterooms are now not inside staterooms, but rather ocean views. Grab yourself an ocean view or verandah now, before those prices increase as well!

There are still great values to be had. Consider the following dates and related stateroom costs which are shown in total, including all taxes and government fees (3rd and 4th passenger assumed to be 3 to 12 years of age):

May 26, 2011 or June 9, 2011 (7-Night Western Caribbean Sailing)
Category 9B, Deluxe Ocean View on the Disney Fantasy

$2343 Family of 2
$3221 Family of 3
$4099 Family of 4

June 16, 2011 (7-Night Eastern Caribbean Sailing)
Category 9B, Deluxe Ocean View on the Disney Fantasy

$2565 Family of 2
$3532 Family of 3
$4499 Family of 4

Judy,

When you get a chance can you email me the photo the server took of our group in the Palo room.

I'm still having equilibrium balance issues but it's getting better. Oh, cruise crud must be what my 2 year old got. He started getting a cold on Saturday and has really crusty and watering eyes now. The 5 year old now has a cough. The rest of us are fine.

Hey everyone,
We're finally home -- walked in the house at midnight. Steve's car wouldn't start this morning so had to get the twins up at 6am to take their dad to the metro.

We had a great time and it was super fun meeting all of you. This was our first, but certainly not our last, cruise. I, too, am still feeling the rocking of the waves. It isn't bad but does feel strange. We had a great time after the cruise going to WDW...met up with Jeff, Missy and Sarah for a short hello at Epcot's Mouse Gear.

Steve didn't take a group photo in the lobby but he does have a good one of the group of kids at Nachi in their bandanas and pirate eyepatches. When he gets a chance tonight after work he will either try posting it or if we can't figure it out with photobucket I will email it to Judy and she can put it up. Hope you don't mind, Judy! I hope everyone who went to Nachi enjoyed it. Lots of thanks to Judy and Sheri for all of your help with the treasure hunt. I think the kids loved it and it was fun watching them all converge on the booty once it was brought up out of the deep hole that Jeff and Steve dug.

I thought the service on the ship was fantastic. Our room steward, Dewa, took great care of us, especially given Hope's on and off episodes with asthma. Sasha in our dining rotation was over the top fantastic too.

Our cruise was especially nice as we got to know Pudo's family and I'm sure we will get together in the future. The twins loved hanging out with Sarah in the Kids Club and on the beach. It was fun hearing the kids squeal when they spotted Daniel and Tim, Jacqueline and Samantha, Adam, etc. It was super special watching the kids develop a confident saunter as we headed off to various parts of the ship. They certainly knew where they were going better than I did. And yes, I got an incredible workout going up and down all of those stairs!!!

We rebooked for the 5 day Dream on 8/15/2011 and the 7 day EC 11/5/2011 Magic (we will do one of the two of those), and the EC 8/25/2012 Fantasy.

More later. Our larder is bare so I'm off to the market.

Beth

It was great fun to see Hope, Skye, and Sarah playing in the kid's club, in the pool, and especially at Nachi. Thanks again to all those who helped pull off a great treasure hunt.

Has anybody figured out who might have the group photo taken in front of Helmsman Mickey on our first day?

Jeff

For anyone sailing on the 08/16/2011 Dream sailing you are all invited to our suite. I managed to pull off a royal suite which is 1,800 square feet so there is plenty of room for everybody to visit.:thumbsup2

We also booked the 08/25/2012 cruise which already has about a half-dozen families booked from our cruise. We would love to do a "reunion" cruise in 2012. Hope you all book.

Jeff

I found I didn't take many photos this time, I'm not sure why. I guess I was too busy enjoying myself.

I took nearly 4000 photos. :scared1: Of course, a lot of those were trying to figure out my new lens, so maybe half of them are decent.

I love the notebook. I may have to use that for teacher's gifts this year.

I'll set Morgan up with an email address today. She is really looking forward to hearing from Samantha. She almost cried Saturday morning when the girls came over and said it was nice to meet her. :sad1: (Of course, I was crying my eyes out most of the morning!).

We booked for April 2012, we have to go around school vacations and the cost in the summer was just sooooo much higher.

Hey Three, what a great trip... Thank goodness we were not that late...:rotfl:

Miss the Magic and all the great people!!!!!

Ok, help me out here all of you with your opinions on this future cruise stuff going through my head. We are currently booked for a B2B on the Dream for Sept 2011. 6 of us in two staterooms (DH, myself, our two youngest boys and my mom and her Boyfriend). This particular cruise is/was to be a Christmas gift this Christmas. My mom and her BF have never cruised before. My mother is 67 and in pretty good health. But we all know, we never know what the future may hold.

That August 25th 2012 Fantasy Cruise, has me really interested, especially since it would be like a reunion cruise, and DH's new cruise Buddy will be on that one (Kim, Martyn made a joke comment last night that he doesn't want to go on our Dream one next year, because his buddy won't be on it :rotfl2: ).

So I'm considering/thinking of maybe cancelling the Dream for next year, and book that 7 night Eastern on the Fantasy for all 6 of us instead. The downer is that we'll have NO CRUISE next year. The Upper, is I can use all the cash I've put into is so far, 100% of it, to cover my deposit on the Fantasy. Honestly, if you were in my situation, what would you do? (if it was a matter of one or the other?)

It is true that if you choose the DF over the DD then you won't have a cruise in 2011, but if you do go on the DD then you probably won't have a cruise in 2012. My guess is the DF 7-day will be more fun than the DD shorter cruise. BTW...there are no formal/semi formal nights on the shorter cruises and no character breakfast. So if you have to choose between no cruise in 2011 or 2012 I think you are better off waiting for the DF, but I am a little biased since I want you to sail with our group again. :goodvibes
