Oct 3 - Dec 30 FD & Code Watch (Only)

That's what I needed. Thanks!!! Crossing my fingers this year!
Last year was the first time that Disney had a completely separate 2nd public free dining offer. It was not part of the traditional fall free dining promo and did not have the same dining inclusions as the traditional fall free dining promo.

Maybe, I got free dining last year and the year before in a Value, but with regular dining. I am a visa cardholder. Hopefully they'll do it again next this year!!

Here's the e-mail from 08.

Yes, I am a Disney Visa holder too and have done Free Dining many times. In 2008 Disney Visa did offer a free dining promo through the end of the year, but there was never a general public offer for that time frame.

Last year, was the first time Disney had a second free dining offer for the general public and it included the quick service option for value resorts. If you received the basic plan for free at Pop in the late fall or early winter it was through the Disney Visa, as that was not offered to the general public.

I read so many threads, and I could have sworn that I read that some people have already gotten codes for the Free Dinner Plan for December. Is this true or am I wishing tooooo hard, I did get the Monster Pin which is great but I am wondering if the Free DP will be better. My question again has anyone gotten a pin code for Free Dining for December?

Yes... some people have. I'm not one of them, but they do exist. I think it was in the middle of May that some people reported getting some. I haven't heard of it since then. It's still a good sign for a public offer again though.

I believe it was valid for travel up to Dec 17

I also think that I read that some were getting FD pin that they could use until Dec.... I'm not one either. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed hard to get FD for our trip in Dec. Hope something comes out soon :)

We had regular dining at Pop during 2nd promo in mid/late october but with a pin code -- we are not visa cardholders. The pin allowed regular dining plan at value level and came through the email like any other pin code. But we now have a Disney Visa so hopefully the same offer will come out this year and we don't have to cross our fingers for a pin code :)

I have officially given up on getting a PIN code, and am patiently waiting and hoping for a Disney Visa or general public free dining deal. We got that in December 08 and loved it!

We plan on staying at the POP, so will need to upgrade. Can someone tell me the cost to upgrade to the basic dining plan, as well as the deluxe dining plan?

I have two rooms booked for early December and just now called 407-939-7675 to check on pin codes/free dining. The representative told me that they can no longer tell you if you have a pin code associated with your name, that YOU have to provide them with the pin code number.

I asked her if this was a new policy and she said, "yes, within the last few days - we were being bombarded with calls."

I wonder... has anyone else experienced this or did I just get ahold of a confused Disney rep?

I think it's that CM. I have heard other CM's tell this to peopla in the past and then call back get another and get what they need.

Gee.... instead of getting frustrated with people calling, maybe they just need to find a better way of distributing PIN's!

I called back to double check and the second CM told me that she was not able to check if I had a pin code associated with my name unless I gave her the pin code number. She asked if I received correspondence from Disney and I said that I do all of the time but might have missed the number. I asked her if this was a new policy, she stammered around a bit then said it is a policy that has been in place since she has been there for over a year and a half.

I explained to her that when I booked the reservations two weeks ago, I was told to keep calling back as much as I liked to check the pin codes on my account or for any of the people associated with the trip. She repeated what the first lady told me which was she was not allowed to look that information up unless I provided her with the pin code number.

Either I got two bad CM's in a row or we are going to have to eagle eye all of our correspondence! :) I guess we do that already....

I've only tried calling about a pin 2 or 3 times all year. Guess it won't hurt me any to give up since they seem to have me on the NO PIN list! :rotfl2:

Haha! I'm the same way. I booked a few weeks ago and have only called them to ask a couple of times ever and we have gone every year for the last few years.

So far, it has never been a problem to check on discounts associated with your name. I'm sure they just have not decided if they will extend them or not and we will know something in the next few weeks.

I have a rental home booked and Coronado Springs booked and need to cancel one or the other - whichever the better deal is! I keep flip-flopping about it and hoping the discount will nudge me in the right direction.

I hope the wait for all of us will be over soon!!
