Oct 3 - Dec 30 FD & Code Watch (Only)

Yes, but I think they alot a certain number of rooms for each type of discount. They should have a certain # of % off rooms and a certain # of free dining rooms. The only people who would have free dining right now are the ones who have been lucky enough to get a PIN for that time period. However, someone would have to be on the phone pretty quickly to have any chance of being one of the few to switch their room to a free dining room if the resort is booked solid with people sitting on a non discounted room just waiting for the discounts to become available.

I guess I'm not understanding what you are saying/asking?
They alot rooms for each discount, when they are gone, they are gone, but some poeple are resort loyal and will stay no mattter if they have a discount or not.

I was just replying to someone who asked if they already had a room at a resort that was booked solid, would they be able to get the discount when it was released, so I was just explaining that even if it's booked up right now, most of those people have it booked without a discount, and so when the discount becomes available Disney will still allow a certain # of those rooms to be switched over to the discount. They were worried that because the resort was full, it would be overlooked for any discount room availablility. However, like you said, everybody will not be able to switch to the discount because of the limited number of rooms Disney will allow, and then people will have to decide if they want to sewitch resorts or stay with that one at the non discounted price.

Called today and again my Sister-in-Law had the free dining pin attached to her name. CM told me it was good to use now and so I am having our Travel Agent (Small World) see if she can attached it to our reservation. Told me it is good 10/3 till sometime in November can't remember the exact date in November cause we are going 10/4-10/8. Don't forget that when you call you can check all the names in your party just make sure you have all the addresses and phone numbers. GOOD LUCK ALL!

I just will never understand how they decide who has a pin code attached to their name. I just called and nada.....:confused3

My opinion on who gets the PIN numbers and who doesn't....
If you travel to Disney frequently, they may not offer a PIN as they know you are a sure thing. :) Meaning they know you are going to travel so no need to entice you with a deal.

Those who maybe go every couple of years or less frequently are more likely to get a PIN. But that is just my opinion, I have no idea how it is exactly handled.

I am not sure what I did to get on the PIN list, but I get the emails.
Sadly I have not received one for when I want to travel (Oct 2010), but here's hoping I get one!

Good Luck!

It goes by email address. I have my regular email that they had from our first trip 2 years ago. I didn't start getting PIN codes until last year and it was the one sent in July for free dining Oct-Dec. This year I created 2 hotmail emails just so that I could create 2 more Disney accounts. I have since recieved a PIN on my old email and one of the new ones on the same day. I called to see if there was any others, and there was a room discount attached to that third email address, but had not been sent out to me.I think the computer randomly picks email addresses. I just wish that the system that was a little more reliable. If someone has a PIN attached to their name, they should make sure they actually email it to that person. Then we wouldn't be calling them and bugging them everyday

I always feel nervous when I call and ask, like they're going to flag me or something so I don't get one :lmao:

Kinda bumming about the posts about Free Dining pins for the fall not covering the value resorts. We were really hoping for Free Dining at ASSp at the end of Oct., but don't the pin code offerings usually mirror what is going to come out to the general public later?

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one. Usually my heart is pounding. I don't know if it's anticipation on "Yes, you have a pin":woohoo: or "Are you calling again":scared:

SO just for the heck of it I called :rotfl2: No Pin of course but the CM was sooo super nice. He said they hadn't sent many out lately but there should be more soon. He told me I could keep checking!

Sorry to blow your theory, but there are a lot of people here on the Dis that go to WDW multiple times of year and get multiple pin codes per year.

I don't think anybody on this board had really found any rhyme or reason to who gets the Disney pin codes.

Well, I called again (couldn't help myself!!) AND this CM told me that there was a free dining pin attached to someone's name that is going on the trip with me. She said that since we are traveling together, we will still get to use the free dining code even though we are checking in two days apart and staying in separate rooms.

She told me that it could not be applied until sometime in July but the dates that free dining could be used were from the end of November to the middle of December. Then she realized that she wasn't supposed to be telling me this information because it had not officially been released so she would not say anything else about it. She said we would see something sent via mail or email very soon. Sounds promising, like there will be another round of pins tossed out in just a couple of weeks!

I have been wondering if they do send out pins for FD or even a public offer for FD if it will be on the lines of the Monster pin where the beginning of Nov and Dec were not part of the offer.....that will be my luck since we are going during the blackout dates early in Nov for the Monster pin and can not change air and tickets for MVMCP already bought

Sjs,

For what it's worth, I think they have no methods to their madness!

They could have attached those particular dates because we have booked during that time period but I just don't know.

:jumping2: It's making me crazy though - Haha!

Count me in as one of the lucky dogs that has the code on July 13th attached to their name! I just called and the super friendly CM told me she saw nothing of resort black outs - but she also said that it hasn't fully been released so she can not tell for certain!!! Fingers crossed as we've got our heart set on POP!

Travel Agent checked with Disney and they said that the free dining pin code wasn't supposed to be given out since it isn't bookable until July 13th. She can check availability or apply it until then. So I'll let yu know what happens on the 13th:rolleyes1
